For those who love to be connected, WiFi was BY FAR the fastest of any connection we experienced in the 4-5 star Hotels earlier in the trip. We were imessaging photos and videos and FaceTime-ing family and friends to show off Umberto's awesome sunsets.Umberto is a truly magnificent host. The reviews of him were the reason we chose this BB and he did not disappoint.
It didn't bother us, but keep in mind that bus travel is the best way to get to BB Laguardia from the touristy part of Anacapri. Taxis on Capri are SO expensive. Once you get the bus timing right (which Umberto will explain to you), getting around is a breeze (and affordable).
A fantastic property in a quiet, secluded part of Anacapri.Amazing views of the sea and lighthouse,we were lucky enough to watch some stunning sunsets.Umberto and his partner were lovely people with lots of ideas for planning our 2 day trip.We stayed in one of the 3 rooms at this property.2 of the rooms had been recently refurbished but unfortunately ours hadn't.The bathroom was old and tired looking and definitely needed a facelift. We love you Umberto, but fix up the bathroom please!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay with Umberto and Ciro. Very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. They had great connections with local restaurants who picked us up at the B&B and dropped us home when we were done. Umberto was very helpful in telling us the local secrets (what Beach is the best, how to do the blue grotto for free & how to get around town) They have an amazing outlook as well which captures the sunset perfectly! You won't be disappointed!
No tissues or toiletries in bathroom apart from some liquid soap. Their location is a bit out of the way which means you need a good grasp of public transport. While they had the best intentions of pointing out everything on the map, they weren't 100% clear (or accurate) with some things which got us lost on a couple of occasions haha. We'd suggest clarifying everything and access to google maps helped out a lot. I'm sure the language barrier didn't help though which you can't really blame them for.
Both Umberto and Ciro will give you the feeling being part of the family. The door of their own house is always open and they will invite you frequently to their dining table. This could be for a chat, a wine or even for some food which Umberto has prepared. Location is good. On walking distance to one of the popular beaches on Capri as also towards the bus stop which will bring you to Anacapri (better then the touristic port). Being in this location is being part of the Anacapri community.
Only minor point to be given is the standard "simple" rooms which one sleeps in. And perhaps the "not so extensive" breakfast. But believe me all plus points weigh higher then these 2 minors.
Great views, great facilities, can be a location for honey-moon. I liked the owner and his friendliness - a very nice guy, ready to help you 24h. Good sleep.
Breakfast - no fresh bread/eggs, however croissants (which are staying fresh 365days) were not terrible. Location - far away from everything, every time we were coming back from bath in sea we were wet and tired - it is like a proper tracking up to the hill. 1 good thing in Capri - no matter your location there is a free shuttle service for every restaurant. Wifi range can be improved to reach the room always.
- Excellent scenery from the hotel - Warm welcome from the owner Umberto and a overview of the city and must do things - Friendly staff
- Far from the main point of connectivity Capri port. You need to change buses once to reach the hotel, although we got a pick up and a drop off at the interchange point (i.e. one bus + pick up by Umberto)
Umberto is a fantastic host and made what looked like a slightly tricky location easy to get to. Do not let the location put you off but email the guesthouse direct before you travel to get help on how to get there. After that getting around is easy! Breakfast overlooking the sea and a pool to cool off (if you actually have time). There is far more to see on Capri than whilst travelling along the coast. To see it all you definitely need 3 nights and that's without time to relax. Better off staying a bit longer and making the most of this beautiful location and proximity to a swimming cove. Wish we'd spent longer here.
Room slightly damp as no AC (although does have a ceiling fan). Presumably this is reason for crackly protective sheet on matress?!
Wonderful view from a very clean swimming pool where in the morning you can enjoy a nice bf. Umberto & Ciro are great host. The silence is gold. Little problems of transports to and from this place but they are so nice to pick you up at Anacapri when you come and leave. Don't forget your running shoes. Capri town in the night it's a wonderful place, very elegant and with beautiful people all around.
Small room and bathroom and in need of a refresh.
Amazing location, with great views. Lovely garden with swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff
Umberto is a true gentleman. He almost arranged everything for us so we make the most of Capri in a reduced time. The house is also very nice. Beautiful view
The high professionality of The staff and mainly of The owner Mr. Umberto, Who is really an International Guy with a lovely customer Service approach. I strongly recommend this structure!
Everything was perfect in our holiday at BB La Guardia! Umberto and Ciro are so kind and helpful
A bit of Paradise on Earth The view takes your breath away Flowers everywhere Lovely helpful hosts A warm familiar feeling Umberto helps you with tips for everything from transportations, experiences to restaurants - make sure you go to the restaurants he recommends, especially ristorante Gelsomina Make sure you call Umberto when you get to Capri so he can tell you how to get there. It seems like a difficult trip but the busses make it so easy!
I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have an unforgottable holiday in Capri. Feel like in paradise to be in the garden with white roses and other flowers, and a small pool. The owners are very friendly, provided assistance to find all the "must see" things, the restaurants which fit your expectations and also the ways to travel. You probably will not find any better place within a similar budget.
Nothing to mention here.
So helpful, beautiful views
This location is quite difficult to find. If you call ahead, they will pick you up. If you are looking for a good story, stay here as the owners are nothing but memorable.
The wifi was very unreliable and not available in the room. The owners chain smoke and the linens/towels reflect that. The room could be a bit cleaner. Breakfast had no choices (mind that it was out of season). Owners are quite abrasive.
Umberto and Ciro made us feel so welcome - Umberto picked us up when we got lost , gave us some of the dinner he had cooked when we arrived , and was an excellent source of advice about getting around the island .
