Very good location: short walk from Taormina town centre. Wonderful views of the mount Etna and coast/bay from our room No. 1. Old stylish hotel, beautiful garden, nice breakfast room and terras with seaview. Sun terras, free parking. Limited food choice in breakfast, but high quality and fresh orange juice included (from red sweet oranges!). During the night the window shutters in our room made an awful noise because of the heavy wind (the hotel is on a hill slope near the sea).

It was beautiful and the views were spectacular from our room. We had an enormous terrace and I liked the overall feel of the hotel. I really liked our room. It was very large and easily accomodated the 4 of us. It was a typical hotel of times past for me in the sense that they gave you a hotel key to the front door at night and they had a live-in watchman on the premises. It was very homey and authentic and original inside, especially the dining area. Very pretty and old world charming... The breakfast was not very good. We had some old stale bread one morning served to us.

Stunning views and close to the centre but just far enough out too. Old world feel and a great space. Simply decorated but perfecly sufficient. Friendly staff, with (thnakfully) enough english, very helpful) Only do breakfast, no other meals but was close to some very good restaurants.

Breathtaking views on the sea and Etna!!! - our main reason to choose the hotel and we were not disappointed, walking distance to Taormina, spacious room with terrace, stylish interiors Small parking - sometimes hard to get out, bathroom walls needed repainting.

We were upgraded to a shared terrace room on arrival and the views were spectacular from the terrace. Look right and there is Mount Etna smoking in the distance, look left and there is the wonderful coastline, look down and there were the beautiful gardens. The room was comfortable and has an olde worlde charm and elegance about it. The common room is very attractive and has a bar. The gardens have nice places to walk and sit in a peaceful setting. The terraces are lovely and allow views of the sea, coastline and the mountain. Front desk staff very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Fresh and filling. Parking on site was very helpful.

Lovely, basic hotel, good value compared to most in the area (but don't expect a budget holiday anywhere in Taormina as it's generally quite expensive). Staff were very nice, breakfast was okay but coffee was terrrible - you would expect fresh coffee at these prices. Rooms facing Mt Etna have the best views... The hotel grounds are lovely and have an old/rustic charm. Despite being the end of high season the hotel was very quite. You will not get anywhere contacting the hotel via e-mail. I sent four e-mails - directly and via booking.com- and had no luck (so if you want a specific room, contact them before you book!) - I would have given the staff a higher rating had it not been for this. Really disapointed that they didn't reply as obviusly didn't get the room we wanted and would have booked elsewhere had we known but everything was full.

We chose the hotel for the location and value for money and the stunning views did not disappoint! The terrace looked out over the sea and Mount Etna, which we saw erupt twice during our stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was amazing! The room was agood size and had excellent air conditioning. The hotel overall felt very spacious, especially when we saw some of the other hotels in the town centre that we had been considering and that looked very cramped! We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful and relaxing time. We enjoyed the 10 minute walk into town as it took in the beautiful botanical gardens which we may not have seen if staying in a town centre hotel. However, it is uphill, including a good many steps so may not be such a good location if you are not so mobile. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone! The only downside I can think of is that the bed was a tiny bit harder than I would have liked. Didn't really detract from our stay though!

Very nice view. Not far to Taormina public garden. The hotel have own parking (a car is very useful, because Isola Bella is very small beach and good beach situated in Letojanni - 15 min by car from hotel). The room was always clean. Well-wishing staff. There aren't hot dishes for breakfast, and small fridge in the room.

The Hotel Bel Soggiorno is ideally situated a bit off Taormina's center downhill and is therefore very quiet. It was built in 1908 and displays a large reception room. The view from the terrace where the breakfast is served overlooks the bay. The Etna view, southward, is stunning. Most bedrooms have a view. The hotel has currently no restaurant but most restaurants are within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes). The walk is steep though. The hotel organizes a dinner once a week for a descent price (28 Euros). The swimming pool is closed.

The hotel is ideally situated between the shore and the town with but a five minute walk from Taormina. Parking is doable, however tight. The views from the hotel are spectacular, with the beautiful shoreline extending to the slopes of smoking Etna. The staff is very helpful and the facilities are excellent. We missed wifi in our room, though it was available in the public areas of the hotel.

The hotel has a good location. 10 minutes walk to the main part of town. The breakfast was good. Could have had fresh juice not cordial, but good otherwise. Cereal, yogurts, fresh fruit, breads, fresh coffee made indivdually for you, cakes. Wait staff and cleaning staff quite freindly. Quite rooms. Good size. Clean. Lovely old decore and excellent veiws from many rooms and the breakfast areas. Nice gardens. Some of the front reception staff were not the friendliest, but did their job all the same. Could have offered their services, ie tell us there is free internet and abus shuttle for 7 euro to the beach instead of finding out by accident. No info packs in the rooms to fill you in. Shower was quite small with a curtain that sticks to you. Not a fancy bathroom, but otherwise adequent.

The hotel had a very uplifting feel as it was perched on the cliffs overlooking the ocean below Taormina. Breakfast is also served on the terrace which was large and very bright with the morning sun coming in. The dining/bar/entertainment area had an older style grandness to it. I felt like I was staying in a hotel that an old James Bond movie may have been filmed in. I also enjoyed being able to fall asleep with our balcony doors open listening to the gentle sounds of the Ionian sea a hundred feet below. Free wifi was available as well as two workstations in the dining room that could be used any time by guests. The shower was quite small (but I managed) and there was no minibar that can sometimes come in handy for keeping things in. The hotel night staff however brought sparkling water to our room late at night when we forgot to buy some. But the good outweighs the bad at this hotel.

The owner and staff were very personable and even encouraged my faulty Italian. The hotel view was magnificent and the turn- of-the-century, Belle Epoque atmosphere was what we were looking for. It was a memorable stay. I wish I were still there.

Outstanding location with the feeling you are in an Italian villa on the sea. Panoramic view of the coast with Mt Etna in the distance. The gardens are beautiful and well tended, the staff cordial and helpful. Room is adequate with low pressure in the shower and water on the tepid side..and walk into town can be arduous if not prepared for many uphill steps. Parking is tight but somehow works!! I would certainly revisit and recommend this hotel to all who enjoy sublime, quiet moments.

Attractive period building, good location with easy access between high and low levels, beautiful setting, lovely terraces/gardens and fantastic views. Family room was spacious - almost two rooms as kids beds were in front sitting area. Public rooms were attractive, particularly breakfast conservatory and terrace. Nice to have your own terrace area with sun bed, table and chairs. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. The shower was old and tired and let down what was otherwise a very nice room. I would not recommend the hotel for elderly people as there are a lot of stairs up which we had to carry our suitcases (although I'm sure the staff would have helped if we had asked) and of course there are also hills up to the town or down to the beach. It was a shame there was no food available other than breakfast as the conservatory, terraces and gardens were so lovely we would have eaten at the hotel if it had been possible, especially given we have young children. I don't mean a full restaurant menu, as I can appreciate this might not be economically viable, but a range of sandwiches and salads, cakes and fruit would have been nice for a light meal.

We really loved this hotel, we are frequent visitors to Taormina but this was our first stay here. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and spoke excellant English. The views from our room, which had a large terrace were out of this world. I love the location, just a 10 minute walk to the centre, passing beautiful public gardens on the way. The hotel is also set in its own gardens and the attention to detail and maintenance of them was very noticeable. With free parking, wifi and a delicious breakfast included I highly recommend this hotel.

I like the whole feel of this hotel. Family owned and operated for a long time and they know how to be gracious hosts. The public spaces are lovely and I found it to be much quieter than other higher priced hotels nearby. Pay the little extra for a view on Etna! This is an older property so there are a few issues--smallish bathrooms in some rooms and an slight odor in some rooms--- but it is still very good value for taormina.
