location was perfect; breakfast included was great, food excellent; hotel has an exhibiton by a scultor which added uniqueness to the old world atmosphere there were no tea and coffee making facilities within the room! If you wanted a cup of tea, you had to go down and order it ..at a cost! Also no food available for room service |

I was aware that the hotel was in a quite area, which is what I was looking for, but was unaware of a road right in front of the hotel, ( I should have done a bit more research) which made it noisy to eat out in restaurants whithin the area, and also made it dangerous to walk. The hotel itself was clean although very dated (even though there was mention of it being renovated) The pool area was scruffy and the gardens around it poor. The dining areas carpets were cream around the breakfast serving area, and were so badly stained (although it looked like they had tried to clean them over time) that they were a dirty colour. There should be something more practical on the floor for easy cleaning. |

Though its location is a bit isolated, it is very close to ferries to reach the desired destinations. Its location does not have many restaurants, etc. within walking distance so one is limited to eating in hotel or two small other places unless willing to take car or ferries. |

We liked our stay at the hotel we felt that it was a great location right on the lake and the sourding area was really beautiful! The balkony on the 5th floor is breath taking. We felt the hotel was a little in need of renovaton as it appears rather run down. We also felt the breakfadt could be a little broader in their offer. |

Nice spacious rooms.Lovely dining facilities offering excellent food and service. location close to ferry is benificial especially for Bellagio. Pool proximity to hotel. The worst lift system we have experienced--------probably could be fixed by better programming of guest lifts and use og staff lifts for guests in certain hours ( busy times) |

Hotel is on one of the best positions on Como, so view from hotel's top floor with restaurant and our room (with balcony) was unforgettable. Rooms and bathrooms (new!) are very good and breakfast is super. Hotel is 3 min walk from boats and ferry for all lake directions. We will book Grand Hotel Cadenabbia again! |

Great location, highly recommend the lake facing room as the views are amazing. Wonderful top floor bar/terrace overlooking lake. The road in front of the hotel is a little noisy. |

Nice hotel, confortable rooms, excellent breakfast. We were disturbed during the night by clients laughing in the lobby and in the staicase as we had rooms facing the stair. So if you opt to go there, be quiet afte 10 o'clock and respect others'sleep...and maybe the others will do also. |

The lift ! give yourself time so you don't miss your boat, it has a mind of its own, there are more lifts but we used the one, a bit like an old friend a bit eccentric but loveable none the less. |

The location was what we expected; the facilities were reasonable; the air-conditioning (although noisy) was essential. The tv in the room was very small and old, the reception was very poor, and there were only one English and one German channels. The rest were Italian, of no use to us. The information handed out was minimal, and no brochures were available either in the rooms or in the lobby. There is no unloading area for the luggage, and no parking space where to park when trying to get the luggage in (and no bell-boy in sight to help). |

Location is peaceful an extremely beautiful. Our room had a charming little balcony with a stunning view over the lake. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast area on 5th floor has incredible view over the lake and the breakfast itself was very good too. 4th floor bar has amazing views as well and is very romantic at night. Ferry to Bellagio, Varenna etc. is just 500m away. Cheap tourist car/train shuttles between Villa Carlotta and Menaggio all the time and public transporation works well too but I recommend renting a car. There are lots of free parking space right next to the hotel. No internet connection in the room (wired or wireless), minibar was broken, design of rooms and facilities is little bit too old fashioned for my taste (British style), no restaurants (except hotel's own) in immediate proximity (nearest decent restaurants are 5min by foot). Lots of elderly people staying at the hotel, don't expect any "nightlife". |

1. The view of Bellagio on the opposite shore of Lake Como. 2. The breakfast area on the roof of the hotel had spectacular views, as did the rooftop bar and lounge. 3. The proximity to the mountains and mountain trails. 4. The main lobby was bright, clean, and very spacious. 5. The cleaning staff were conscientious and efficient. The reception staff seemed a little stiff ("you can't check out at this desk, you have to go to my colleague" even though no clear designations on the desks were present) and seemed a bit grim and annoyed when we checked in. The breakfast area was quite large and the food was adequate, but the staff was overwhelmed by what seemed like a normal crowd -- ran out of plates, cups, and utensils. More of an inconvenience than anything else. All of the employees could use a lesson in learning to smile pleasantly at the guests who pay 150 Euros or so a night to stay there. |

The beds were comfy. The view from the roof terrace was worth paying for.The breakfast was good. The swimming pool wasnt very acessible or large. Parking behind the hotel was appallingly surfaced. The standard rooms had a stuffy smell to them. The shower leaked into the rooms in the rooms with view and balcony. The gazebo needs a lick of style. |

The pool was nice to have, although a little hard to locate (1st floor at the back of the building, not on the 4th floor with the sun terrace) |

I liked the breakfasts on the terrace. But that's it. Not too much else to like about it! On arrival (in the early afternoon) it took over 10 minutes to find someone at reception — a hint of what was to come. The room we were allocated has to be one of the smallest rooms I've stayed at in a hotel in the last 10 years, certainly in a hotel that offers itself as a 4-star hotel. The small balcony had a single metal chair when we arrived. I took one from the adjoining balcony (which had three) and requested a small table to go with it. They told me they couldn't promise one but eventually one was provided. The floor in the room was dusty. The hotel was economizing in the bathroom — I was practically shaving in the dark and there was no shower curtain or stall. The Internet connection didn't work. Parking was a lottery. &c &c |

The view across the lake from our room. Needed a better standard of decor to qualify as 4 Star property. Carpets worn and generally scruffy on surface. No Porterage services available resulting in guests arriving by car having to move own baggage across car park into hotel via unasphalted surfaces and great inconvenience |

Beautiful hotel, excellent location...just a short 10 minute ferry across the lake from Bellagio. Bus stop right across the street is very convenient also. Room had a gorgeous stone patio that overlooked the Lake Como area. |
