The luxury 4-star Grand Hotel Ambasciatori is perched on a cliff overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in Sorrento.

In the heart of Positano, Hotel Marincanto offers panoramic views out over the town and the Mediterranean Sea from its many terraces. It features a small spa area and an infinity pool.

Make yourself at home at Maison La Minervetta. Its cliff-top setting in Sorrento means that you have breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.

Offering numerous swimming pools and terraces overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, Grand Hotel Capodimonte is in central Sorrento, 430 yards from the main street, Corso Italia.
Score from 481 reviews Excellent
The location, the staff, the views -- all were marvelous. We can't wait to go back. We could not have felt more welcome.
There is nothing to dislike about this hotel and the people who run it. They just do an outstanding job.
the location with view of the volcano (btw still active) and the gulf of Naples is truly great. Rooms etc are very clean.
The Hotel tries to maintain an outdated old sense of luxury. The room charges are way to high, even considering the great location.
The hotel was absolutely superior. I have stayed at over 1000 hotels - many of which are considered the "best" in their respective city. The Bellevue Syrene was probably one of the best i have ever stayed at. Superb facility / very friendly yet professional staff / lots of little extras that really made the stay fantastic.
Hotel cleanliness, facilities, location and staff
The central lounge with it's free bar & buffet
The evening road closures and one way system around the town centre and the lack of signage to the centre and the hotel for cars from the road above the train station .
The views, the quiet comfort, the building and its decor, attention to every detail.
There were evenings when there was no live piano music in the lounge. Sebastiano was playing downstairs at the restaurant - for paying customers.
everything. It is the nicest property I have ever stayed at.
Absolutely beautiful property with a fantastic location. Wonderful spa treatments.
The views were amazing of the bay of Napoli and Mount Vesuvius. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very accommodating. Nice bathroom and toiletries.
stunning views and excellent service
Not much. I preferred the LaFavorita across the street for 45% of the price. They also have an amazing breakfast.
Poor room quality, basically an attic. Poor bed quality. Dirty floors. Breakfast was awful. WiFi was in and out. Poor in the room. Three people charging out of the hotel to get my bags. Felt a little much. White suits for breakfast staff. Felt overkill. High wind location, door rattled all night. Need to be a little more relaxed.
Highest standards throughout all aspects of hotel service.
Bed extremely firm- mattress topper provided on our request. Coffee- Italy is famous for it; but the hotel serves only 'American' style. These are tiny reservations about an outstanding hotel.
We stayed in this hotel several times each time one week and this time with friends. That means we like it a lot...the location, views, staff...everything.
Over the years it becomes more expensive because of its positive points. This year the other guests were 90% Americans we think because of price and marketing. Everything becomes more efficient =less Italian every year. This takes the Italian/European atmosphere away. It's a pity...
Being greeted from car and shown to buffet and lounge to relax rather than checkin desk. The room, view and sundeck. A great choice at breakfast with attentive staff, though not overly. Fantastic place to unwind and feel pampered...
No kettle in room. I dont get up without cup of tea. Had teabags, but had to wait till breakfast. Sounds a small thing, but was huge for e
Lovely setting on the cliff edge, very central so it is easy to go out to try different restaurants. Good choice for breakfast, the hotel restaurant is worth going to for a treat. Great cocktails on the balcony from very polite staff. The complimentary drinks and snacks form 10am till 8pm were a lovely touch as you could enjoy a glass of wine ,beer or soft drink with finger foods at any time in the lovely lounge areas either inside or out. Lift down to the sea where you can sit and read or swim.
We loved everything about this hotel down to the complimentary drinks and nibbles served in the lounge area. The staff are superb and very helpful taking away the stresses of organising the little things like taxis and restaurant bookings.
There was nothing to dislike.
We stumbled across this hotel on a previous trip to Sorrento and had lunch on the terrace and promised ourselves to return one day. We stayed on the top floor in the cheapest sea view room. The room wasn't massive and the decor was not at all to my personal taste but it was very clean and comfortable and it had a very private terrace. Rooms on lower floors although being bigger (higher end) rooms have a small balcony that is very visible from the pontoons and from other balconies. We enjoyed breakfast in the room on both mornings of our stay, used the private pontoon for sunbathing and had some of the complimentary drinks in the late afternoon. Your made to feel very special from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave
Unfortunately there was an issue at the very end of our stay where some sunglasses went missing from our room. I'm glad to say the issue was quickly resolved and Nello the manager went out of his way to get the glasses to us at our next hotel which was in Amalfi. Mistakes happen and it was nice that it was dealt with quickly.
Wonderful place perched on the cliffs at Sorrento. Facility was wonderful, staff and food were great. Like a club floor in that everyone had access to free drinks and modest snacks, but in a wonderful inside/outside sitting area on the main floor.
Elevator is insufficient. It seems do always be blocked off. However, from ground level the highest floor is only 3 up and 2 down. We were on the highest floor. More of an irritant.
The best moments on my life were during my stay in this hotel , specially it was my honeymoon. You will feel that you are in a dream scine you are entering into it. Every details in the hotel are amazing and there are no such words will describe it. Also, it is a good location to make it as a centeral point for many trips like amalfi coast , positano and capri island.
This hotel is so beautiful and location is perfect. The rooms are gorgeous -- we had a suite with a very large terrace overlooking the sea. I can't imagine finding a better location in Sorrento. Views, views, and more views. Would highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be returning next year!
+Club Lounge with free food/drinks all day +Ocean view +Restaurant +Beach access via private elevator/lift
-small room -small balcony
The room, spacious, tastefully decorated. The whole hotel was beautifully dressed and maintained. The number one factor making our stay perfect, the staff. Always there to assist , polite, patient, and professional. Francesco, can only say.. you look after your guests , beyond the call of duty.
It would have been great (appreciated), it there was a kettle or coffee and tea facility in the room.
