The room was so nice &we just loved the owner, Lora Dona. The breakfast was just amazing. Good location. Such a clean place with great showers.
The building was under renovation so had to carry bags up quite a few stairs but worth the club.
Location is very nice, old but historical building, friendly staff and very good breakfast.
The photos on the web were better. The building was under construction. Nice old building, the entrance was awful, dirty, ugly and lake because of rain and no elevator so it is very difficult to climb 2 floors with luggage. Price is too much for this time period.
Very helpful and friendly staff! Nice smell in the corridor and in the rooms. Great location for those who would like not like to stay in a secluded area but not in the actual centre of the city: Just opposite the beautiful Giardino Bellini! Perfect breakfast
2 flights of steps until you get to the B&B. But it's a good way to burn the calories of the delicious breakfast ;)
- big room - 5 min walk to Via Etnea - across the Bellini park - the owner (Loredana) is a wonderful host, always smiling and ready to help - we appreciated the late arrival accommodation (we arrived at 1 AM) and Mrs Loredana was kind enough to wait for us, even if it was our mistake to not see the arrival schedule on the website - very good breakfast (the cakes are excellent)
- not a problem for us but good to know there is no elevator and the B&B is at the second floor - again not a problem for us (on the contrary) but keep in mind that the bed is very hard
Very friendly host, gave us very good tips for the restaurant - and it was really good and not expensive. Nice bathroom. Very nice and central location. Parking - if you were lucky to find a place - is very close to the house
Very loud, bothering and stinging mosquitos at night
Staff is very helpful however English is poor.
The rooms are on the top level no elevator if you have heavy luggage you'd want someone very fit to be there with you to help cart them up three flights of stairs.
Very nice and friendly staff, perfect position for the city center and excellent breakfast. We would be pleased to visit it again and we strigli suggest it.
A bit noisy also in the night as our room faced the main road. How ever with the window closed the problem was solved.
The room was really clean, beautiful and cozy! Loredana was really helpful with everything. The breakfast was superb!! Much better than other very big hotels!!
It doesn´t have a lift but the good thing is that the staff really carried all my bags.
helpful host and staff Breakfast was unforgetable
The breakfast is amazing, with lots of choices, including home-baked sweets. Its close to the city center, less than 10 minuten walking from Via Etnea. Across the street is an awardwinning pasticceria (pastry shop). The bed is comfortable, A/C and WiFi are working well. When I aksed wether the payed beaches would provide towels and I was told they are not, I was borrowed one without even asking. The staff in general is superfriendly. Unfortunately I was not able to check out late, but I was allowed to leave my suitcase at the B&B so I wouldn't have to drag it around town during the day since I my flight was in the early evening.
The staff doesn't speak English, but to be honest very little English is spoken in whole Catania. Being close to the city center it also means it's close to a busy street, also at night. Sounds from other rooms and reception area are also easily heard, but luckily the staff isn't very loud. The elevator isn't working, which means you'll have to walk up two high flights of stairs. I knew about this in advance, but still it is inconvenient and should be taken into consideration if you have limited mobility.
Excellent breakfast Great location and facilities
We (German couple, 30) spent one weekend at the Bellini Home B&B. The positive comments on this website made us choose this B&B and we can only stress this recommendation. Loredana, the very heartfelt Italian landlady of the family-operated B&B (spricht auch fließend deutsch!), took great care of us (interesting and pleasant conversations), provided excellent local advise, and is very helpful in any regard (for example printed boarding passes). The rooms are very charming, include air-conditioning, and were renovated recently. It is clean and easy to reach (just choose bus line 457 from the airport and hope-off at the piazza stesicoro. From here, it is a 5-minutes-walk). The breakfast comprised a variety of dishes (self-made cakes :), fruits, cornflakes, bread, cappuchino, juices, water, and milk). Particularly helpful in this summer time is that the B&B also provides a fridge that guests may use to store their own bottles. Regarding the noise that was mentioned by other reviewers, it seems to me that this is in essence due to the Italian way of traffic/driving and the season of the year (beginning of school). Our room, in any case, was absolutely quiet ... to put it in a nutshell: Highly recommended and we will certainly be staying here once again as soon as we will be in Catania the next time!
There is no lift in the house, but it is not at all a problem (we could have been assisted in carrying the suitcases).
Good location for getting to interesting sites. The staff were excellent and helpful with restaurant recommendations which were accurate and took us to good local food, The breakfast were sumptuous - good local baked goods.
I wished it had been clear how many steps we would have to climb to get to the accommodation . One member of our party had heart issues and if any of us had, had knee or hip issues it would have been too much.
Position and price
To much noice coming by the street, very hard to sleep
Kind, friendly and helpful staff, spaceful rooms and a very nice building! Also nice breakfast
Windows of our room were oriented to the road - noise coming from the street
The owner and staff were super helpful and friendly. They didn't speak a lot of English (but you'll find that in most of Sicily we found) but always made sure we well looked after. They even had a bags taken up and down the 3 flights of stairs.
The B&B is up 3 flights of stairs.
Room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very tasty, We recommend this hostel!:)
The staff does not speak English at all (even a few words), it was difficult to communicate. However, both receptionist were kind and seemed to be helpful (unfortunateley even if we tried to speak in French, Spanish, English we heard that they spoke only Italian...).
Excellent accomodation, perfect location very close to the city centre, delicious and diverse breakfast and especially very very helpful and hospitable hosts who gave us a lot of information about Catania and surroundings. The perfect place we can only suggest to everyone.
