The Wifi connection was very low in our room at the end of the corridor (probably because of a faulty adapter), but the problem was solved.
Very good location, right next door to Villa Bellini, probably Catania's most beautiful park, and a 5 minute walk to via Etnea (the main street).
The hotel is at the second floor of a beautiful, old house. Although the building was being renovated and the facade was not very welcoming, the inside of the hotel was definitely worth the trouble.
The room was very clean, with an incredibly high ceiling (perhaps 5-6 meters) and decorated with great taste and attention to details. The room was heated and there was hot water available all the time. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and new, with all the appliances (including hair-dryer). The floor is covered with ceramic tiles, so we would recommend bringing slippers, because it could get cold.
The breakfast was very good, in the italian style: lots of pastries and sweets, but also milk, juice, water, tea, american coffee, yogurt, butter, fruit, some eggs, cheese, ham and salami. The homemade cakes (by Loredana - the manager - herself) were definitely a treat, especially the ricotta and chocolate one. On request, we could have espresso or cappuccino.
The kitchen and breakfast area were lovely and available all the time (if you need to use a table, make some tea etc.) The rooms don't have a minibar, but a fridge is available is the breakfast area and a clever labeling system is provided.
A supermarket is right across the street.
We were joyfully greeted by Loredana, the manager. She was very helpful and kind, providing all the information we needed... and more. She also recommended and made the neccesary arrangements for a guided trip to Etna. Which was also great. She was available (also by phone) whenever we needed and handled every situation that occured.
We had an excellent stay and we highly recommend it!
