Hotel Belvedere  

A beautiful place

The wonderful balcony we had in our room, the balcony for breakfast was just as beautiful. Swimming pool was perfect, a lovely relaxed atmostpherem beautiful but not stuffy. Location was good as the towns nearby were a little over touristy for our liking so were happy to be a bit away from them!

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we knew we had chosen the right one. We were warmly greated by antonio who escorted us to our room which was spacious and spotlessly clean the view from our room was spectacular. We found all the staff very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was served outside on most days and the view overlooking amalfi was breathtaking.the hotel has its own shuttle into amalfi or there is a bus stop outside. Anything we wanted to know or have organised the staff on the reception were there to help. We found the food in the evening was varied and the menu changed daily and very well presented. We could not fault this hotel and would certainly recomend it to anyone.

The location is very convient to the emerald grotto and other Amalfi villages. The pool is beautiful with a gorgeous sea view. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is extremely clean.

My Fodor's guide had said that the staff were very friendly here however this is not at all our impression. There were some who were quite friendly and helpful but others who seemed almost annoyed when asked questions. The person serving breakfast was also very aloof. Some people there didn't appear to enjoy their jobs.

The hotel is located at an exquisite location and is a gem. The pool is on a cliff overlooking the ocean and is actually quite big and has lots of cosy comfortable stretchers around it both in the sun and in the shade. We had a room with a wonderful balcony overlooking the ocean and for only a little extra charge we were able to have our breakfast there. The breakfast itself was a treat, with cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, good italian coffee, juice, eggs etc. And to make it even better: the staff was really helpful and kind with good restaurant tips for alll the places we visited. And there's free parking. If and when I go back this would be my first choice.

From the moment we arrived at the Hotel Belvedere we could tell that this was a very special hotel. Staff were courteous, friendly, informative and helpful from the cleaning staff to the excellent staff on reception and the waiters in the bar and excellent restaurant. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and on being shown to our room a waiter appeared with a bottle of bubbly on ice - a lovely touch. Our room was a superior double and was gorgeous - huge bed, lovely white linen, large bathroom but best of all was our own terrace festooned with flowers and a magnificent view over the ocean from which we could see Amalfi, the mountains up to Ravello while watching fishing boats, ferries to Positano and luxurious yachts sailing by! We even had our own front door! We could walk down steps to the pool which has sea water or use a lift. The two guys at the pool area again were courteous and helpful. They supply you with towels and run a little snack bar with drinks, ice creams etc. We expected the usual buffet breakfast but no! Immaculate waiters take your order and it is served on the terrace again with spectacular views. My husband and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Ok it is about 4 km from Amalfi town which means either driving (roads are scary as are the drivers!) using taxis which are very expensive but the local buses are good and there is a stop just outside the hotel. You can buy your bus tickets at reception. We had a wonderful week.

We would have liked the bar area to be more lively. The bar staff were excellent - cocktails were really good. People tended to have a pre dinner drink and on some nights returning from dinner in Amalfi we looked in and were amazed that there was no-one about! Maybe a piano player or half-price drinks would help (without lowering the tone of course!).

Restaurant services are too formal, even for breakfast. It would be nicer if instead of having sevral waiters serving the small number of options in breakfast it could be provided a blend of waiters and self service style. We were disapointed when we knew we should pay in separate for ham and chesse in the breakfast.

Bel panorama, davvero un "belvedere" stanze ampie e ben organizzate. Staff cortese e buona pulizia della camera. Inoltre ha un ampio parcheggio in una zona che non ne ha proprio. Prima di arrivare ero in ansia per trovarne uno,invece ne avevo uno per me...anche coperto.

Wifi un po' lento, ma per il resto nulla da dire.

Besonders eindrücklich ist der hervorragende Service und die dadruch entstehende gute Atmosphäre im Hotel.
