Hotel Benacus  

A 3 star hotel with friendly owners and staff which provided all that was needed. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There isn't a restaurant for an evening meal, (snacks served until early evening), but there are numerous excellent restaurants in Malcesine which is a half hour walk along the lakeside, the path being well lit. The walk back to the hotel was a pleasant way to end an evening. Closer to the hotel there is a restaurant along the lake which is about a ten minute walk. The breakfast was good apart from the orange juice. Malcesine is an excellent base for visiting the rest of the area and the boats on the lake make it pleasant to get around, although I would not like to visit in High Season due to the volume of traffic.

The noise from the traffic along the main lake road "Gardesana" can make it difficult to sleep at night, but this is reflected in the price, but you get used to it. The double bed was two single beds pushed together, which was not very comfortable.

good location, it was about 2 minutes walk to the lake. As we traveled with 20 months old toddler we really appreciated garden with small playground for kids right next to the hotel cafe. The family atmosphere was great, we really felt like at home during our stay. The cleanleness of the room was perfect, too.

I would certainly reccommend Benacus to friends. The breakfast spread is great. The staffs is very nice.

The Hotel Benacus is family owned and managed and is great value for money. The benefits are, large car park, very friendly owners and staff, very clean and modern hotel,close to lake and bus stop for town centre ( 1 euro ) lovely gardens and pool. This Hotel is perfect for all guests. We would not stay anywhere else on Lake Garda in future.

Nice, friendly stuff! They gave us exhaustive information about activities and events we can attend at Grada See. A quite beach is only 2 minutes walk away.

The customer service was outstanding. The family are proud of their hotel and so they should be. I will certainly be recommending to friends and family and would like to return. We went for our sons wedding ...Roberto and Marissa (brother and sister) were so helpful with ironing room..taxis etc..and breakfast was excellent ...some of our family stayed in a 4* up the road and they were disappointed when they saw the Benacus as it was much nicer than their hotel which cost £60 more per night!

In an ideal world the hotel would have had an unrestricted view of the lake ..but then it would have cost much more.

Friends had recommended the town of Malcesine. We were not disappointed as it is a lovely place dominated by an ancient castle and with a quaint harbour, narrow cobbled streets and numerous restaurants with al fresco dining. A visit via the cable car up Monte Baldo is highly recommended for the scenery and walking opportunities. We visited six other resorts on Lake Garda and much preferred Malcesine to any other. The Hotel Benacus is approx 25 minutes walk from the town along the very pleasant lakeside path, or 4 minutes by tourist bus, currently 1 euro. The excellent hotel is run by a lovely family who go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable. They assisted with advice on visits including Venice etc. The hotel has a nice garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi all with mountain views. We would not hesitate to go back and highly recommend it.

the hotel location, its closeness and easy way of getting to the centre of Malcesine. The staff were exceptionally helpful and so very friendly. The Benacus was spotlessly clean and the welcome we received was very good indeed. The pool area was just the right size for this type of hotel and the grounds were also very pleasant for sitting around the pool combineing a very relaxing atmoshpere.

Nothing, apart from the lack of tea and coffee facilities. However, we expected this and took our own.

The people at this family hotel are very friendly & trustworthy. You can get out of this trip what you want. If you want to know about anything they will go out of their way to help you, but equally if you want to be left alone then this is easy to do.

Comfortable and very clean accommodation. The room was light and had lovely views from the balcony and the bathroom had good facilities. Owners were friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfasts. The lift was welcome. Well tended garden with pool and light snacks from the bar - pleasant for a rest day or relax after sightseeing. We liked the location in Val Sogno which is away from bustle of town centre but Malcesine easily accessible by tourist bus (stop outside hotel) or short, scenic walk along the lake. Two supermarkets nearby supply everyday needs. A very enjoyable holiday, and thanks to Marisa and Roberto, their family and staff.

We missed not having kettle and tray for cups of tea in the room and there was some late evening noise from the hotel at the back, but it was only annoying on the Wednesday which may have been their party night.

Warm and friendly staff, especially Roberto and his sisters lovely smile. Arthur the Golden Retriever. Very nice coffee and eggs at breakfast. Location just outside Malcescine, Beautiful walk along the lake into town.

A bit of road noise, only a problem at siesta time, morning and evening not noticable.

Mitarbeiter allesamt sehr freundlich und aufmerksam!!!

Zimmer nach vorne, Straßenlärm hörbar auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern, Klimaanlage läuft sobald Fenster zu sind auch bei off Einstellung und leider nicht geräuschlos.
