Stayed 5 nights, breakfast good, Turkish bath and pool, large bed 4 star hotel not 5 star with respect of facilities and service. Wifi intermittenly drops and reconnects automatically and may not be free, empty pots left upside down in courtyard resonate very loudly when raining! very small - inadequate gym with a few light hand weights and cardio, not as advertised, reception staff could have been more helpful and no concierge.

The room and amenities were fantastic. Service was very good. The location wasn't ideal if you wanted to be within walking distance of the Old Harbour or other Genoa attractions but it was centrally located and an easy drive, or taxi ride away.

It is a very nice and comfortable hotel for a reasonable price. Quite and close to the city's center. 1. Too warm water in the swimming pool. 2. There is no free Wi-Fi

To be honest, Melia Geneva is one of the best hotels I have stayed so far according to room & bathroom space and ameneties. Hotel's location is also good, maybe not just in the city centre but in a quiet area and you can walk city centre in 10 minutes. Breakfast is good but it's below 5 stars standards...

The room was perfect. The bed and bathroom were world-class. The concierge was not particularly knowledgeable or able to customize his recommendations for us. He suggested a resteraunt very different from what we asked, and we felt that he, perhaps, earned a commission or something for sending us to a very expensive modern fussy fancy restaurant, instead of what we wanted, which was traditional Italian. The agent who checked us in was also very snobby. This is the only 5-star hotel that we thought was unwelcoming. They tried to charge us an extra 95 Euro per day to have our 5-year old daughter sleep between is in our king-size bed. We had to argue with them about the extra charge. We made our check-out date 2-days earlier than planned, because we felt that they might try to sneak that 95 Euro back on to the bill. Lucky, at check-out, they didn't charge us extra for our daughter, and the agent who checked us out was professional and courteous, but our bad impression at check-in already made us leave 2-days early, so the damage had been done.

Very modern and restaurant was great, especially the division of dinner and breakfast areas. Very swish! The cost was horrific! But I guess that what you pay when in a world class modern city.

The hotel is located in a nice quiet area with walking distance to the historical centre and city centre. It is nicely decorated and comfortable. Staff at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was good with nice variety of different things. wifi Internet in 5 star hotel should be for free. Restaurant at the hotel overpriced and food just ok.

the location of the hotel is only 10 mins walking to old city ,the room are so well designed and big , the breakfast is so good , the only thing that this hotel needs is the staff need to be more smiley and helpful ,they give you a feeling of they are only doing the job without the sense of being friendly they are only solid

The best hotel we've been so far! The room was clean, new and modern, very well designed, big TV, no smell of dust or cigarettes (as in many other hotels). The breakfast buffet was amazing, everything was fresh and tasty. The location is very good, its about 15 min away from the Piazza De Ferrari, which is basically the center, you just have to find the stairs. If we ever go to Genoa again, we are definitely booking this hotel. Overall a great experience! You have to pay to use internet in the room. Now, this is not at all a huge issue for me, but I think for a 5 star hotel it should not be a problem to provide free internet in the entire hotel.

Rooms are what you will expect of a international chain. Clean and comfortable and its of a decent size (we took the basic room). There is an indoor pool with Sauna facilities. Price is very reasonable for what you are getting. Easy to find street parking (relative to the rest of the city). It's a little bit far from the old town (with kids, it took us about 20-30min walk) and the lift up the hills only work until 830pm, after which its a long flight of stairs up the hill. Indoor pool has too much cholorine and your eyes hurt after 5 min in the pool.
