Excellent location, really nice breakfast. Old fashioned rooms. Dodgy electrics in rooms, when we plugged in our chargers for our phones the lights would go on and off. The roooms were very dark. Staff not very friendly, bed like a rock. Could do with a renovation.

The most appealing thing about this hotel is its central location. We loved it as your are in the heart of florence. You can easily walk to all the main sights. The hotel itself is very comfortable. There is a lovely small roof garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine or two after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was very nice as you would expect for a 4 star hotel. It's central location makes it ideal for going out for diner at night. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. There was very little not to like about this hotel, if I had one criticism it would be about the reception staff. The male receptionist on duty when we arrived could not have been less inspiring to excited enthuastic tourists spending their hard eared cash at this hotel. The receptionists we meet after our first night were fine, although none were overly friendly. Maybe this is just their way. The bar man was lovely.

Excellent location within walking distance of all major attractions, fabulous view of Ponte Veccio from river view rooms. Triple room quite spacious, nice bathroom. Hotel staff very helpful, friendly and professional. Excellent breakfast in lovely dining room & they went out of their way to cater for my wife's gluten free requirements. Car parking available from hotel for extra charge & they will pick up & drop off your car. We would definitely stay there again & recommend to friends. Beds a bit hard & the single bed was only a sofa bed & quite small. A/c in room needs to be regulated so that it doesn't switch on in the middle of the night. If driving recommend ringing for directions as the Hotel rear entrance (opposite side of the river is much more convenient for baggage drop off. Also some streets have had their traffic flow altered which isn't picked up on SatNav. Free wifi available but it's a bit slow & irratic.

Upgraded to room with a view for free (we booked a larger room but they obviously had availability in the off season). Wouldn't have paid for the view but very nice to have been given it! Breakfast was amazing! Lots to choose from: fruit, yogurt, pastries, bacon, sausage, eggs, other breads, cereal, juice...was nice to have such a spread in a large and comfortable breakfast room (I'm used to seeing a minimal offering in a small room in most hotels which is fine...but nice to see more offered). Room was roomy and clean. Location is close to everything and a short and manageable walk from the Train Station. The mattress in our room was very stiff/hard. We only stayed in Florence 2 nights on this trip so it wasn't a huge inconvenience for us...just experienced a bit of soreness in our backs for a few days. The reception staff were what I would call adequate. They provided what I would expect (making a restaurant reservation, a few easy directions on our first day in Florence, etc.) but nothing "over and above" a normal standard of service. For the right price, I would still stay here again...location, breakfast and the other comforts of the room made up for the other things.

Ideal location for sightseeng and visiting museums and galeries, clean and tastfully furnished room, good breakfast, professional and helpful staff. Poor sound isolation of rooms - your sleep depends considerably on calmness of your neighbours.

Centrally located yet quiet and relaxing. Generally reception people are nice. Because of regular traffic mess and inconsistencies in Florence, it is hard to get there by car, and no one helps with directions either because they don't know or because they only speak Italian. The hotel should be more vigilant about the garage they use. Once I waited one hour until my car was brought to me, even thou I was told it would take 10 minutes.

Right on the River Arno. Close to Pontevecchio and museums. Well maintained. Inside the 7.30-19.30 no drive zone, but close enough to the edge that you can park outside and walk in.

Location was the main reason for choosing this hotel. The area has number of similar hotels. The room was big and comfortable. The in-room safe was very old and not safe.

The position of the hotel was excellent . We were given a lovely room (small suite really which overlooked the river Arno and Ponte Vecche bridge. It was very close to all of the major sights of Florence which is just what we wanted. The staff were friendly and helpful It would have been nice to have had a roof terrace to sit and relax at the end of an exhausting hot day. The only lounge was a small one on the ground floor in the reception area.

If location is everything than this is a place to book. Make sure, however, that your room has a view on the Arno. Breakfast is fine. Personnel is friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms; one of them a single room which turned out to be a rather dark, oblong space with a small window with a view on a wall. You can get better rooms at a lower price in Florence.

The hotel stuff was extremely friendly and helpfull, expecially Patricio. Location is. Ery convenient as it is located in several metres from Ponte Vecchio. The bath was designed for a baby rather than adults as having shower was not posible without pouring water to the floor. The bathroom was a nice but very narrow (about one meter)

I had read good reviews about Hotel Berchielli and I was not disappointed. It is in an ideal location - next to the Ponte Vecchio and five minutes from the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria and the main shopping areas. My room was comfortable, well-appointed and very quiet. The hotel serves a very good hot and cold buffet breakfast and has attractive public areas, including a pleasant bar. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and I have already booked another visit for June 2012. Can't wait!

Location is great, along the Arno river, beautiful scenery, short walking to everything. Rooms were good size, high ceilings, comfortable bed. Breakfast was O.k, could be excellent with little effort and additions. The rooms facing the river get noisy because of the street in front of the hotel. Better isolation is needed.
