Only 100 yards from the famous Basilica of San Francesco, Hotel Sorella Luna offers a very convenient location in central Assisi. In a 15th-century stone building, it has free Wi-Fi and refined rooms....
Score from 511 reviews Wonderful
This 16th-century building was created by the architect Galeazzo Alessi, who also designed the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Assisi.
Score from 60 reviews Very good
We loved everything about Hotel Berti, from it's old-world charm to its friendly staff and perfect location in Assisi. Would not have changed a thing. Our room was clean, quiet and had an excellent view out the window.
Having to leave!
The staff is quiet and intelligent man. You can stay very comfortable. The location is very near the bus stop. Absolutely no compliant.
The location is perfect. The bus stop from the railway station is virtually at the front door and it is just a short walk to the cathedral. Nice breakfast. Would stay there again.
Just needs a spruce up to be a 10 out of 10
Pressure was good...but shower is very small...but functional.
location is very good, only 5 minutes walk to the church. clean and comfortable. quite reasonable price. I would recommend it to travelers.
doesn't have much choice at breakfast
Close to the Basillica, near the bus to the top of the town, allowing for a leisurely stroll down. Comfortable room with a view. Good, varied breakfast.
Would have liked tea-making facilities, but few European hotels have them so hotel Berti was no worse.
Hotel decor was excellent. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were excellent. Would come back again and would definitely recommend it. Thank you for a lovely stay
The breakfast was awesome. The location was perfect - close to the bus station and the church. The room was small but SO nice. The lights had been left on fo me. This was the very best value in my entire trip!
There was nothing to dislike.
Great room, great breakfast, Great service, Couldn't ask for more !
Our group stayed here while on pilgrimage and it was just lovely! The rooms are nice and spacious and the breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio each night, and loved our dinner at the hotel restaurant down the street. We ate there twice because it was so good! I will stay at Hotel Berti again for sure!
Location was perfect for our stay. crossing the road from the bus and the hotel was right there. It was family friendly. The breakfast options were great and fresh, lovely croisants and fresh fruit. Our door got stuck but the hotel looked after us. We liked the location of this hotel for visiting all the sights in Assisi. This hotel had one of the few places available to sit outside for coffee. Thank you
Our group was welcomed with open arms! We loved the location which was very close to the main Basilica of Saint Francis. Charming setting with a lovely patio. Our favorite place to eat was owned by this hotel as well. We will stay there again someday.
Staff was exceptional - he took very good care of us - helping us park, setting up a breakfast table for our group. Excellent breakfast. Coffee and wine available all day, nice outdoor terrace.
We had an absolutely delightful 2 night stay at Hotel Berti. It is perfectly located for those driving to Assisi, just across the street from parking and the bus to top of town. Short walk to Basilica. A lovely little terrace in front with views of San Pietro gate and church, friendly staff, good bkft. They own Da Cecco restaurant just up the street- had a fabulous meal there! Highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant.
My wife and I (we are in our 60s, but very active and experienced travelers) stayed at the Hotel Berti in Assisi for 2 nights in early September 2014 – our 2nd stop on our 2-week Italy vacation. We were initially attracted to this property because of (1) its very central location; (2) ratings on various sites that emphasized the convenient location, the quiet neighborhood especially at night, and the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms; and (3) the price. Our experience exceeded expectations in all respects! Our room was very nice, the beds were fine, everything spotless clean, and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was excellent – traditional European fare, except no eggs. One could eat inside or outside; we chose the latter and it was just delightful and even nicer than the pictures. In the evening, we would sit outside and have wine (€2,50 per glass) or a mixed drink (from €4,00 – can you believe it) before going to dinner. We normally look for lodging with free parking, but staying right in Assisi could not be passed up. For our 2-day stay, we paid only a total of €12,00 for parking. After 6:00 PM (we actually arrived at 5:00 PM) and until 10:30 the next day, the parking on the street just a few steps from the hotel is free. We moved our car to the bigger underground parking facility just outside the gate and a 2-minute walk from the hotel before 10:30 AM, and then left before 10:30 AM the next day.
Nothing to dislike
Good location by gate to city, friendly staff
Location is very good. Room is spacious, clean and very comfortable, more than I expected. Breakfast is very good and staff are helpful and friendly.
Wifi is very weak inside the room.
Had a nice Restaurant run by them a few steps away. It was Excellent.
The hotel is in a great location positioned just inside the city walls & a public (paid) car park within 100m. The hosts were very helpful. As the hotel is at the bottom of the town there is a public bus that will take to the top of town so you can walk downhill back towards the hotel.
The beds are flat and hard The shower is very small
Location reall convenient for public transport.
Breakfast, location excellent!
Air conditioner was a tad loud but did its job.
Breakfast was great: cold cuts and cheese, fresh buns, great croissants, yogurt, cold cereal, and great cappuccino. Lovely garden area. Perfect location, just steps from the bus stop. Franco, the host, was very accomodating.
Front desk not 24/7, which wasn't a problem for us but be aware if you're planning a late check-in. Limited number of double rooms: most are single or triple.
A nice, basic hotel, really convenient to the city gates and parking, and a quick walk to the basilica. Service is discreet and professional, breakfast generous and delicious. Good coffee!
The wifi in our room was inconsistent.
Staff nice . Place clean
Parking should be comped. Hotel at bottom of hill town. Would perfer to stay on top of hill next trip
Exceptional breakfast. Probably the best we had in Italy.
