La Solara is surrounded by lemon and olive groves, only 800 metres from the picturesque Puolo beach. It overlooks the enchanting Bay of Sorrento, including the profile of Capri Island.

This Best western Hotel is 3 km away from the town centre, conveniently connected by a courtesy shuttle bus leaving the premises every hour between 05:15 and 23:00.

Enjoy amazing sunsets sipping a cocktail by the pool or on your room’s balcony and take advantage of the late closing hours for some evening shopping.

The Olympic-size swimming pool and the children's paddling pool are both heated in the low season.

Delight in typical regional foods in a large dining room offering splendid views of the sea. The chefs also prepares international specialities, vegetarian dishes, special dietary dishes and arranges children’s menus. Once a week, a dancing dinner takes place while twice a week you can listen to live lounge music.

Very welcoming staff.The room was very nice with an excellent view.

The bed was quite hard. I appreciate it was near the end of the season but I felt the food was not as good as it should have been.Breakfast food was limited, as mentioned by another reviewer.

Having a room with a full size balcony (at least 3.5 metres square) and sea view. My teenage daughter and I stayed at this hotel the previous two summers and enjoyed the wonderful location, (away from the busy town) with beautiful scenic views. We saw a glorious sunset every evening across the bay.
The icing on the cake was the courtesy bus, which runs into town every hour and back again, right up until 11.15 pm. The shops are open all evening, so that one can relax by the pool or visit Capri, Amalfi or Pompeii etc during the day. Furthermore public transport for all these places is frequent and cheap. No need to indulge in expensive organised trips!
A memorable stay for all ages.

The courtesy hotel bus that takes guests to the city centre every hour, was very convenient.

Comparing 4 star hotels in South Africa and the UK to Italy, the standard of 4 star hotels are much lower in Italy. However, comparing La Solara to other 4 star hotels in Sorrento, the rooms are more tastefully furnished and better priced.
