Waldorf Suite Firenze  

Exellent value for money, Large 2 bathroom 47m2 suite, was spacious and comfortable. Bar area is also excellent, Sam the bartender very good.

Not a great deal but for feedback sake 1. Not enough lighting for main shower and for wardrobe in lounge area of suite. Neither safe was working, perhaps flat batteries. Lounge tv remote needs new batteries also. No washing up detergent or basic washing up equipment provided. No dustpan and brush or broom provided. Hotel steam Iron did not work on steam setting and is small and difficult to use. Should be replaced with full sized Iron. It also tripped the electrical safety breaker on one occasion.

Very nice hotel in a good location near to train station and important tourestic places.

The hotel is located right near the main train station about 45 seconds walk from where the bus from pisa airport drops you off so is ideal for travelers coming from Pisa or arriving by train. The hotel is also very close to the Santa Maria Novela Piazza and a little over 5 minutes walk from the Duomo . Most of the sights of Florence are close and although the streets outside are busy they have two layers of windows that keep out all of the noise. The check in staff were friendly and helpful with good English, The room was excellent, very clean with a few nice paintings on the wall and we had a suite with two bathrooms which was fun if somewhat unecesary. Breakfast was a large buffet with pastries ,cold meats,fruit cereal bread and yoghurt and bread to chosse from. The only hot breakfast was the typical hotel scrambled egg and some boiled eggs. A nice touch was having bottles of still and sparkling water that you can take over to your table at breakfast. Its worth noting that the breakfast room looked like a posh expensive bar in London or Paris so all in pretty cool.

The bed in our room creaked; a , as a stylish looking bed it was great but in terms of comfort it had two single matress' , not ideal and as I said before it made lots of noise which is not what you want on a romantic long weekend. The aircon was crap, the aircon unit in the living area of our suite was OK but the unit in the bedroom pretty hardly ever worked as it seemed to have a temp sensor that only allowed it to work when the room temp was over 25 degrees this was very annoying on hot days especially if like me you spend plenty of time in countries where its colder than -20 for most of the winter. The bar does not open until 1730, this is not much of an issue bit worth bearing in mind. The Bathrooms were in the most part beautifully fitted and decorated but the laquer on top of the sink stand was wearing off in patches.

There are not good smelling in one of the elevators as well as the other bathroom in the room, the smell is continued throughout the period of our stay.

With its superb location, just across the street from the train station and within short walking distance of good shops, restaurants and sights, it is ideal for vacation and business. The breakfast is simply superb, in terms of choice and quality of food. The cleanliness and comfort of the room could not be faulted. Overall, it exceeded the standard of the Hyatts and Hiltons.

Despite having booked a suite, I did not get one so worth making sure that the staff do their job!

Got more than I expected. Rooms were large, modern, spacious and comfortable. Much bigger than most European rooms. It was the only hotel we stayed in where I felt we had "space to move" which greatly added to the experience. However, the location is not ideal for vactioners looking for a "quaint Florence setting," as it is right across the stree from the train station. What the "exterior ambiance" lacked, the "interior ambiance" more than made up for it. For a business traveler though, this is an ideal hotel.

Excellent room and some staff offered excellent service.

Some service was poor e.g. maid service.

Room size good location very good

The air conditioning is absolutely inadequate. The suite had 2 air conditoners but both lesser than the required capacity. The temperature outside in the city was 5 degrees lower than the room temperature and the room couldn't be cooled below 29 degrees C.

Location was very handy to the train station and city sites are not far to walk. Breakfast was a great way to start the day at the hotel and was extremely satisfying.

Hallways were noisy when children running along. We had adjoining rooms and although it was near freezing temps outside, the room was intensely hot but I simply didn't care to switch rooms late at night so I simply opened the windows and turned the heater off. Minor distraction which did not ruin my stay and I would stay again but not rm 487.

Modern suites in the heart of an old town is not so common. That is why we liked the Waldorf Suite very much. The price for a large luxury suite at walking distance from everything worth seeing was outstanding.

Location is superb. Very cosy & quiet eventhough is located next to the train & bus strations.
