If you are looking for a mix of modern comforts and traditional architecture, and of course great rates, Hotel Boccaccio has it all, and is right next to the station. The hotel is named after the Tuscan poet Giovanni Boccaccio. It is set in a historic, Florentine building that dates back to the 18th century. It has been completely modernized and extended and now includes precious marble and all the latest amenities. Your guest room comes with hardwood floors, air conditioning, and satellite TV with international channels. The bathroom features either a bathtub or hydromassage shower. The Boccaccio Hotel is right in the heart of Florence, between the Arno River and Santa Maria Novella Church. The station and bus terminal are just across the road. You can enjoy traditional Tuscan cuisine at the trattoria owned by the same management, a 5 minute walk away. Hotel Rooms: 23 Most recent booking for this hotel was today at 09:42 from Italy.

The room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable; Domenico at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful; the railway station was within 5 minutes walk; there were lot of places to buy cooked take-away food and some supermarkets - also within 5 minutes walk. And the way to the most touristic places was easy and didn't take more than 15 minutes walk. The tables in the dining room could be bigger - especially those served for three persons. And the lamps in the room could be brighter.

The staff was the most efficient and welcoming. Our room was very clean and spacious which means a lot to us. The jacuzzi was a plus. The location is excellent - the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay immensely! Definitely would recommend it to all. This was the best hotel from all in Rome, Venice that we stayed. Excellent!!

I had a single room : the heating was working perfectly and the room temperature was pleasant. I had my own toilet + sink. The bed was big. The shower and the WC were not separated so that after I showered, everything was wet. The flush button was broken, many items in the room were a bit old (but this didn't prevent me from using them), and the room was a bit dirty (the bed wasn't, tough).

Very welcoming staff, with excellent English. Location is very close to train station, but still quiet. Several reasonable restaurants are close, as is stop for boats to other parts of Venice. Used to be monastery, but has been modernized, with new plumbing. For older patrons stairs to 3rd floor are a trial ( no elevator)

Pleasant desk clerks that tried hard to meet your needs. Adequate breakfasts. Struggled with the WiFi connection that is different for each floor. Hotels in general need to make this service more transparent in today's world. Raise the room rate a couple of euros, but don't have an awkward system that doesn't work well. Emails are an important means of daily communication.

Nice hotel. Good location. Very near the historical zone. Staff is nice and the bedroom is clean and with all the necessary conditions. Breakfast could have more variety although is still ok. Everyday there was a lot of mosquitos on the bedroom. Be aware to keep the anti- mosquito device plugged-in. There was only 1 plug available to connect electronic devices (on the bathroom).

The breakfast was appalling. The cable tv did not work. Tv not essential for a holiday but beneficial to hear the news particularly in Italy where transport strikes are a distinct possibility.

It was old fashioned and that was welcome as it gave character. The bar was open all the time and the staff were willing to serve until late. We were on a culture trip (which is not an option on the tick box part of the revue) as the city is small the hotel is ideally located. They also have a companion business of a trattoria, just down the road, which is excellent for dinner. They also have a cool evening outside terrace on the first floor. Breakfast is fine, but very unimaginative and no fruit.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size with a mini fridge. There was a good selection for breakfast. It was a 5 min walk from the main train station, and an easy walk to all the main sites and the shopping area. The hotel had a nice terrace that you could sit out on with tables and chairs. The bathroom was a good size. The walls were paper thin, so you could hear everything going on in other rooms.

I enjoyed the warm welcome and the help from the front desk, whatever I asked or needed. The room was small but elegant. The ensuite bathroom had its own patio - divine! The water was always hot and the linen was changed daily. The towels were large and fluffy and the room service provided everything I asked for very quickly. Tea and coffee was elegantly served in the lounge and there was a lovely first-floor patio with gardens for guests which I used and enjoyed. It was the perfect place to stay in Florence. Location of the hotel was good. Right down the street from the train station. Good breakfast buffet in the morning. Staff was very accommodating. Would recommend this hotel to others. The only negative thing for this hotel was that the internet was not included. We paid for it. Most hotels have free internet. Also the internet connection was not good.
