We stayed at Hotel Bolivar for a weekend break and found the hotel to live up to expectation. The staff were helpful and polite. The location is excellent, as tones throw from the Trevi Fountain and shoe shops!!. Well done Hotel Bolivar.

Very central, and in a quiet back street. Bit off the tourist throng so you can find some really nice local resturants with local italians. We insisted we stayed on the second floor with the refurbished rooms which were excellent.

Very central location, but I'm afraid that is the only positive thing I have to say about it. Mr room was very small and very old fashioned. Breakfast was poor and cold!

Staff where very good, breakfast was also very nice with interesting outlook, great location for sight seeing. The bed was a nightmare could not sleep in rock hard with lumps, bathroom no shower curtain for overhead shower so forced to sit in bath and hand shower, toilet kept burping, so obviously problem with plumbing next question is difficult to answer not having stayed in this city before hard to compare to what is classed as acceptable

Great location, you can walk to most interesting places in Rome's center. The Roman Forum and Coliseum are 5-10 minutes away. It is in a very quiet and hidden cul-de-sac; taxi drivers know the address but if you arrive on your own, bring a good map to find it. A short walk to Piazza Venezia gives access to numerous buses if needed, or to the Coliseum for the subway. Very friendly and helpful staff, gladly provided maps and information. Great views from Breakfast room; good breakfast and nice capuccinos if you ask the ladies who work there. We are a couple with a 16 year old daughter and we were given a room with a double bed and a single bed and good bathroom (comfortable by European standards, don't expect Marriot-like rooms!). Would definitely go back there. Wi-fi access has to be purchased at 2 Euros/h or 15 for 24h; signal was weak. The tv volume could not be adjusted from the remote, perhaps on purpose to avoid loud listening.

Location! Location! Lcoation! The hotel has the best location - 3 minutes from Piazza Venezia, 20 minute walk from the Vatican - practically close to everything. The hotel staff was very helpful and always willing to help. We requested for a triple room with 3 single beds; the room was very clean, quiet. Highly recommended.

Very helpful friendly staff. Good location. Rooms not very sound proof. Ours was next to reception and very noisy. Shower cold until you ran the cold water tap!

Its location was ideal for walkers visiting various tourist attractions, all within walking distance. Even the vatican was only 2 miles approx away with a good sat nav finding each attraction was very easy Felt the room was a bit small but as first time in Rome maybe this is the norm for hotel rooms in city centre.

The staff was very friendly and tried to compensate for the fact that the hotel rooms weren't up to snuff. I was given 3 different rooms. In the first room the fridge didnt work and the desk lamp was missing it's light bulbs. In the second room there wasn't any hot water to shower with. Finally the third room was ok. Still though, in all three room 1/2 of the lights didn't work. It got really aggreviating. All small things of course, but when you are in Rome with a grocery store 3 blocks away, why wouldn't you want to shop and put things in the fridge for snacks later? Anyway, the staff was really friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The hotel isn't in the best of repairs. It needs more work.

The location is absolutely great - many tourist attractions are in walking distance. The reception and the service people are very friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. And last but not least the pickup service from and to the airport organized by the hotel was extremely helpful with a fair price. We definitely consider to stay here again.

The location of the hotel was fantastic. As a family with young children, this was the only hotel that allowed children under 5 to stay for free if using existing bedding. This was ideal for our situation. The staff were very helpful and exemplary. I would definitely stay here again. The only complaint I had was that the carpet in the room was a bit shabby and old. However, other rooms in the hotel had upgraded floors. Maybe we were staying in a room that had not been upgraded yet.

Very nice hotel. Location is excellent - only a short walk to the Colloseum. Breakfast is generous and varied. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Rooms are decorated beautifully. The size of the room for 4 persons was a bit cramped, and the bedding consisted of two sofa beds which may not be suitable for some older children. Bad smell from bathroom occasionally, but otherwise a lovely hotel. I would stay there again.

“Staff were very friendly and accomodating - they couldnt do enough to help. Great city centre location - we were able to walk to all the sights in rome and is very close to the Vatican city! However also great transport links through the metro very close by. Room was basic but comfortable - great for a city break in Rome.” Amy, Penicuik |
