I cannot say enough good things about our first visit to Rome and our stay at Hotel Bolivar. First and foremost, the staff is amazing!!! Even before we arrived, I received an email from Stefano offering to arrange transport from the airport. When we did arrive, we were greeted personally by Peter, who made us feel welcome and accommodated our early arrival by letting us check in extremely early (much appreciated since the flight from the USA was long and we didn't sleep much). Breakfast was great in the morning---the views from the breakfast room on the third floor were amazing. Each day when we returned from sightseeing, we were greeted by Angelo, who was very helpful in recommending places for dinner or offering us refreshment in the lounge. Secondly, The location was perfect---it's tucked away so not too noisy and within walking distance to almost everything we saw. Many thanks to Peter, Angelo, and Luigi for he terrific service. We will definitely be back for our next trip!!

The wifi was pretty sketchy the first day----but Peter was kind enough to change our room to a larger triple on the second floor on day two which solved that issue completely!!

Staff were helpful. Position was very central to all popular tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants close by to chose from. Breakfast was good. Room was small but comfortable.

No tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Location, location, location! Ice cold air conditioning (we called our room "The Meat Locker"), great staff, nice breakfast room on top floor with view, good breakfast. Nice bathroom with large shower, shower head with rain fall and two horizontal spray nozzles.

Location was good - easy walking to most historical sights and not on a busy tourist street. WiFi was good most of the time - like most places it was slow in the busy periods. View from breakfast room was lovely, breakfast satisfactory. Reception staff very helpful.

Breakfast staff a little slow to replenish when busy. Beds very firm - both mattress & pillows. Bathrooms very compact.

Location is convenient, staff friendly and helpful. Note for the future guests: the hotel is accessible from two almost parallel streets. One street is flat to the hotel, and other involves large stairs.

Breakfast that was advertised 'fantastic' by receptionist was not so good. Selection was rater limited and several items were not appropriately fresh.

    Great breakfast room

Decor in rooms was dated and dark. Bathtub was grimy. AC wasn't very good and fan was very loud. Unfortunately showing some age. Needs an update.

On our 3 week trip to Italy, we stayed here at Hotel Bolivar for 5 nights. The staff is one the best we have experienced here in Italy. Angelo and Peter will definitely steer you in the right direction with a very personal touch. A rarity in a city bombarded with 40 million tourists every year.

The staff was really wonderful. They gave us some excellent suggestions for dinner. They were knowledgable about transportation and visiting sites. I can't say enough good about the staff!!

The wifi was not always reliable, which is more of a problem for the teenagers and young adults than the paying guests!

The staff was excellent. Very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in the heart of Rome and close all major attractions and bus stations.

Besides the breakfast the hotel should also cater for lunch, dinners and room service
