Hotel Bologna  

Beliggenheden er perfekt; ca. 10 minutters gang fra f.eks. Duomo og Ponte Vecchio. Hotellet har ikke egen restaurant, men området myldrer med kafeer og restauranter, og det er i sig selv en oplevelse. Værelserne er pænt store, og badeværelserne er også meget gode. Morgenmaden er helt OK med f.eks. skinke, ost etc. Man behøver ikke mere.

good location, not in the very centre, but in a safe and quiet area & everything's within walking distance. Very helpful staff, super patient with questions. Clean and comfortable room comes with everything you need.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room I stayed was clean and nice. It's perfectly quiet outside at night, so it's an excellent place if you want to be not far from the historical centre of Florence and, on the other hand, sleep well.

Friendly and helpful staff who spoke v. good English, good choice at breakfast, well-run hotel in a quiet non-tourist district with the centre of Florence reached by a pleasant 20 mins walk alongside the river.

Great location! We could walk to all the tourist spots. In an area with lots of shopping and restuarants. Parking was free . Friendly staff and helpful with tourist info.

We enjoyed our stay with Hotel Bologna, especially the friendly and accomadating staff! The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood with shopping and restaurants that are less expensive than the city center. We are a family of four and used the hotel only for sleeping. The room we had was very small for four people (even by European standards) and the beds were not the best. However, we were tired after spending all day in Florence and we simply collasped in our beds and did not notice the negatives! Breakfast was very good for a budget hotel - we were full and made it through to lunch! Thank you!

Small room - if you plan to spend any time in the hotel, this may be a problem. Beds are not so comfortable - if you are picky, this may be a problem. Street parking free on weekends, 10euro/day during the week. Very difficult to find a spot. Quite far from center - it took us about 35-40 minutes (slower pace for 9yr old son) to walk to the Uffizi and another 25-30 minutes to the Accademia. There are trams that stop near, but we never found the stops! Ask for a tram map at the front desk and you can buy your tickets there, as well.

The rooms were a good size and of pleasent decor . The hotel was a 15/20 minutes walk away from the town centre but we enjoyed walking along the river . lovely palces to eat nearby .

A little far way from the centrel, about 20 min walk so if you live for a long time, it won't be very convenienc. But there a bus you could get to the town center nearby.

Very good location, about 15-20 minutes walk from the city centre. There is a good chance to park a car for free near the hotel.

The mattress is not perfect, the shower room is small.

The staff, especially the lady receptionist and the two younger men at evening shifts. Also lovely clean room, spacious, good breakfast

The noise: we specifically requested a quiet room. We were on the second floor with a family with a young child(children?) above us and they ran noisily around til almost 11 P.M. Our room also was on the street-side so picked up all the noise there, including a crane working directly outside the window form 4 A.M. to 7 A.M. on the seocnd night - didn't make for a clear head at the conference I was attending!

Staff with excelent English and well apreciated informations about the city, restaurants, parking, etc. Just minutes walking from Duomo. A simple but nice breakfast with an excelent coffe, as well the capucino...

the staff were really helpful, free wi-fi, very good breakfast in the hotel, room was quite spacious, and we slept well, 2 very good restaurants within a distance of 150 meters: Osteria Coco Trippone (amazing food and atmoshphere in the best value for money. seriously),Il Barrino (posher, and thus, more expensive. but it was a great meal), and great gelato in front of Coco Trippone. better thany any thing within the city center we rented a car in our last 2 days in florence, so getting out of the city was easy, and due to its neighborhood location, finding parking in the street was not hard PLUS between 8 pm and 8 am, parking was FREE !!!

it is slighly far from the city center- 2.5 km. there is a bus but with its frequency, we mainly walked to and from the city center. TIP: use google navigation, not to get lost within florence streets after realizing we were not impressed by the city center, we rented a car, so the distance fromt he city center did not bother us as the hotel is within a neighborhood, there's not much happening within the hotel perimeter and even minimarkets close earlier . 7/11 are avaialble closer to the center

This hotel exceeded expectations and felt more like a three star than a two star (although the facilities are in line - no recreation, etc.) It is family owned and run. Room: The room size was adequate, everything was very clean, there was plenty of hot water, a good bed, and the condition was great - even had some real furniture. Hotel: Has an elevator; breakfast was included and very good, the WiFi worked well, the lobby is attractive and useful. There's a laundry and a big supermarket 2 blocks away. Staff: The owners (husband and wife) are working most of the time and are very helpful. They booked a day tour for us (e55 each - Sienna, two hill towns, and a wine tasting). The wife's English is good, after that the staff has basic English. Location: The hotel is in a quiet residential area, good for sleeping and security.

The only downside of this hotel is the location. While the quiet, residential area is a plus for many things it can be a minus for others. It's a 20 minute walk (minimum) to the Duomo and 30 minutes to other attractions. There's a bus stop near by but we used it only once. It's a e15 taxi ride from the train station; we don't recommend trying to walk it with luggage - it's at least 30 minutes over rough paving. There are a lot of restaurants between the old downtown and the hotel so we tended to eat dinner at the end of our day and walk 15 minutes back to the hotel. We saw several neighborhood cafes and tratorrias near the hotel (it's Italy, after all) but never ate in one.

Nice location and a very helpful staff. Good restraunts nearby and the breakfast was good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The boy in the reception was very nice and helped us with luggages. Also he adviced some restaurants with excelent food and not high prices nearby. Very good location, about 15 minutes to the city center and/or to the nearest train station by walk. The room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was good with ham, cheese, butter, cereals, jam, croissant and fruits. Good value for money. Also as we were from Armenia, we asked for a confirmation of booking by Fax for the embassy, and they sent us it without any problems, what I can't say about the hotels in Rome and Milan. I will stay in this hotel if I visit Florence again.

Quiet, clean, comfortable and friendly. Slightly outside the city centre but only a 15-20 minute walk to the main sites of interest and only 5-10 minutes from some decent bars and restaurants.

We spent 7 nights in the hotel. The staff was wery friendly and helpful. Our room was always clean. The beakfast was delicious (the coffee was the best :). The location of the hotel is good, 15 minutes walk from the city center in a quiet area. Thanks for the beautiful holiday.

Really nice hotel, not far from old city 8 minutes to walk. 3 minutes away from good italian restaurants, with a really good prices (not like in old city). Nice breakfast. Free parking!!!
