These relatively modern apartments are of a good quality and build standard. Location for GAIOLE itself is excellent but on foot the paths are very steep! This is a complex where a number of nationalities own one or more properties for letting and ours met the expected criteria if a little expensive for the time of year ,,
There is no reception, so finding someone to let you in etc is tricky, you will need to telephone. Our kitchen was very poorly equipped - very limited on utensils and crockery. No kettle or microwave & a dishwasher disconnected from the water supply! We complained, but little English is spoken and YES, it's cash ONLY! They wanted money the minute we arrived, but I held back. Luckily having been here before & knowing 'influential' locals helped a lot. People know people here, & eventually we got 2 nights Free for all the hassle ... Other reviews regarding problems are entirely correct - we were lucky !!
The location is excellent, we had 2 apartments , one was magnificent, the second one was good "but"......
Management was a bit wanting. We arrived to be told that we only requested one apartment not 2 . Even though the paper they had said Apartment one & apartment two ! Apartment one had a lot of mould, we reported it , but they took no notice . Apartment two was magnificent
The location is excellent, with a view over Gaiole and the town centre a few minutes walk away. The apartment complex is modern, attractive and without noise or other disturbance for our September booking. Our 2 bedroom apartment had good kitchen facilities - handy for breakfast and occasional self-catering, but there was no laundry. Overall, it was very good value for money. Despite the difficulties that we encountered with the administration of the booking, it was very much worth the effort in the end, and we would highly recommend this location for a Tuscan holiday.
It's unclear how many apartments in the complex are available through booking.com, and overall booking process was a real struggle. There are no easy options for communicating with the owning company such as website enquiry or email address, with the only option being a costly international phone call to a mobile number. Consequently we had to make a second booking when we could not get the first confirmed. Without any warning on booking.com, we found that the owner only accepts cash and not credit card - not expected for accommodation of this sort. The owner was flexible about allowing time to get the cash. Apart from the pool, the additional facilities aren't as described on booking.com - the internet was slow or unconnectable, the gym was closed, parking was not allowed in the garage, and there were no laundry facilities. To be fair, these would have been nice, but are not show stoppers. For a really good apartment in a great location, there was an unnecessary level of challenge to complete the basic accommodation arrangements.
The apartment is located in a quiet area within a walking distance from the center of the town. It is warm, clean and very well equipped. It provides an excellent base for an active holiday. Helpful management. We were very much satisfied.

Didn't have the advertised wifi. Only plug in internet which didn't work with IPad. Also found it difficult to communicate with manager as he didn't speak any English at all. Faulty cooking equipment where turning on the oven cut all power to unit. Manager just kept tripping the switch and then it blew again and again. In the end couldn't use the oven at all. 2 of 4 hot plates didn't work either.
