Close to Siena within walking distance, yet country setting. Great daily breakfast with large variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities onsite were a blessing. Room was very comfortable with a view toward Siena. Close to the bus and train and large co-op grocery.

Cannot think of anything we did not like.

We liked that it was walking distance from the train station, grocery store and the wall of Siena. The room was comfortable, clean and loved the grounds. Would definitely stay here again!

Borgo Grondaie is a beautiful place to look at. The gardens are amazing and the surrounding terraces and potted lemon trees are so pretty. The traditional, authentic Tuscan style accommodation is very nice and in keeping with the theme of the whole place. You have everything you need in the kitchen, a living space and nice bedroom. its feels really homely. The bathroom is brilliant! The pool is big and good to swim in (if you wait until the out of control kids have gone away!) If you don't mind using the trees for shade you will be alright if you need to avoid the heat. There is a really handy laundry service (you have to pay but it is very reasonable), a nice little bar and you can order food if you want to hang around the accommodation rather than venture into town. Parking is on site and free and there is a really good supermarket right next door. The walk to the escalators into Sienna takes about 20 minutes but to get to Il Campo takes a lot longer so be prepared!!

Not complaining here - just our personal preference and it would have helped us to know these things. Having to get a new password for wifi access every 24 hours was a pain. Could benefit from having access to a small table and chairs as part of individual apartment facilities for all not just a few. Umbrellas around the pool would be useful. The apartment booklet suggests a route to visit vineyards in the area - okay if you have a very skinny 4x4 and don't mind severe drops from high hillsides!!

The apartment was in a perfect location--it is located in a very quiet area and has the feeling of being in a relaxing country area, but it is actually only about 7 minutes (driving) from the heart of Siena. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Apartment was clean and comfortable.

    Nothing

Our son became was bitten by a teak. We discovered this at eleven in the evening. There was no one to help us so we could the emergency number. Te owner told us she lived 25 km away. She pretend she didn't understand us. We asked for a pincet, but there was no reaction. So finally we went to the hospital were we had to wait for hours. Very small room for four persons. Bad beds. Old towels. Etc

What wasn't to like? I've stayed in Siena before and chose this place because it was a bit out from the chaos of the Palio when the city population doubles (or more) in size. My only regret is that I hadn't found this place before. While you are a 5 minute walk from a giant grocery store, you'd never know it.-and it was great for those evenings I wanted to try my own hand at Italian cooking.

WiFi wasn't a strong point, but I wasn't there to surf anyway. On occasion, we found ourselves taking a taxi back after walking all day in the old city (Taxis are also cheaper to return to the hotel). They do frown upon nude sunbathing by the pool-oh well.

Excellent service and such friendly staff - who doesn't like being greeting at breakfast by someone telling them which cake I just have to eat?! Lovely pool and a really nice quiet place to be. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. I had a back problem when we were staying so the walk into town was too far for me (I didn't have the back problem when booking) but the taxi service to and from town was incredibly efficient. Stayed in 3 places during our trip to Italy and it was by far the best breakfast and really appreciated the friendliness of everyone. A lovely stay!

Little bit further out of the town centre than I had expected but means that the location is very quiet and peaceful.

Siena is a magic place and Borgo Grondaie is beautifully situated on the outskirts of the city. The approach to it is a bit misleading so it is a beautiful surprise when you arrive. From their lovely gardens and pool there are nice views over some of the skyline of the city. Our two bedroom apartment was very comfortable and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was the best we have had during our two week tour of Italy.

The location was excellent; don't be put off by the approach. The site is tucked away in a wooded area, approximately 30 mins walk from the centre of Siena. There is also a regular bus service into Siena, and the station is approximately 15 mins walk. This place was ideal for us because we wanted to self-cater, but a villa was impractical for just 2 people.

The only downside was that the wifi did keep dropping out. We only required it to keep in touch with family at home, so not a major problem to us.

The grounds and pool area were beautiful, extensive and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Bed comfortable. Reception rang taxis which always arrived in 4 minutes! CoOp at end of road with with everything you could want available to buy.

Long walk to centre of Siena about 30 -40 mins to main square. Wifi - only one device. No umbrellas for shade at the pool. We were allocated a small room (Villa 4) but other rooms and apartments with patios looked great.

The property has a farmhouse feel.. beautiful grounds, quiet, nice pool, gardens, terraces. But it is located conveniently to the walled city of Siena. For us, it was perfect because we had stayed in Rome for 5 days and wanted some peacefulness and were needing a break from city living. We walked to Il Campo and it was quite a jaunt for my senior parents. But the taxi was only 6 euros each way and the rest of us walked to the train station, which then has an escalator to the top of the hill, from which you can get on a nice path into town. I love to walk so that was great for me! The rooms are so nicely decorated, well equipped, and comfortable, great A/C. The staff is phenomenal...great service, very friendly, and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better place, honestly!

The only complaint that my teenage kids had was the free wi-fi access was limited to one person. We had to pay for a second password each day.

The staff are outstanding. So helpful. We enjoyed the food, the room was large and the apartments are a great idea. The site, view of countryside, and pool are spectacularly beautiful . A 20 minute walk to town for medieval sights, excellent food. Great base for region.

Awkward wifi-- one per machine. Each additional one is only for 24 hours.

I wish we could have stayed here longer, it was so cozy and serene, and beautiful! Everything was amazing. Next time I'm in Italy, I will definitely be returning

This is just a bit out of the way of town. They say its about a 25 minute walk from the city centre, but really its about 40 minutes. If you stay here you need a car or there are plenty of taxis, but the taxi cost adds up. That being said, its quite pleasant and nice to be outside of the hustle and bustle.

We were pleasantly surprised by the room, pool and facilities. A little out of town but easy to walk in. We were travelling with a 1 year old and would have comfortably stayed a few days, we were only passing through but it was a really comfortable stay!

This place was amazing! Quiet and with a country feel yet easy access to the center town. Best of both worlds! Beautiful views, elegant, comfortable and luxuriously casual rooms... we had an apartment villa! Service was the best and most accommodating with a special thanks to Gabriela and Gaia - so, so helpful in every way with the best grace and attitude. Loved it! We also felt the price was very reasonable for what is offered....

    Nothing!
