We booked this resort as a one night stay to explore southern Tuscany and then coast with a good pool and views. On arrival at about 5pm I was rather surprised to find German rock music blaring from the bar and then noticed a 'show time' sign too. It also became immediately bclear that this is a very family oriented resort and the pool was like a swimming pool on a Sunday morning with kids everywhere. Its a bit like a posh Butlins with sun! Our apartment was Spartan, the gas didn't work (was fixed as we were leaving the next day), there was no kettle, there was a power cut the morning we woke up, the bed was a put down sofa bed made up as a bed, and when we had no cooking facilities we reluctantly ventured first to the on site shop which is closed on weds afternoons, and then the restaurant who's pizza oven was broken, hence the takeaway pizzas being sent for. It was a poor show from what could be a nice place to stay with better accommodation standards and a whole different set of clientele. It wasn't a good place for us.
The views are stunning and the setting is beautiful and the whole resort does look attractive on the outside, but it is is sold as a sort of country club with swish facilities, which look great on the pictures. The reality behind that is a little different - see the negatives. The very hard working, and pleasant receptionist was very helpful, easily understood the complaints we made, and helped get a takeaway pizza delivered from the nearest town and reduced our bill by a third when I requested a discount from the £90 we were paying for one night in no more than £60 worth of accommodation and lack of facilities.
