Fantastic place to stay the owner could not of helped us more, location was brilliant very close to the vatican and on a very nice street with lots of nice reataurants and cafés all at good value. Room we stayed in was excellent nice comfy bed and ensuite with jacuzzi bath plus very clean room was cleaned everyday and towels changed everyday. Well recommended and ideal for short stays. Will definitely stay again
I would like to recommend this place! Great location near to everything and very helpful staff.
Everything was just perfect. The staff was very welcoming and the place was very clean. Staff came in everyday to clean. I did miss having a microwave in the kitchen but that was a very very small inconvenience. It was the best apt. that I have stayed in in Rome. And I've stayed in a few.
Maybe a microwave would just make it perfect.
- splendid location at a two minutes walk from Saint Peter basilica - lovely personnalized decoration - splendid space to live in Rome - the view on Borgo Pio Street
Everything was absolutely perfect!
- location very close to St Pietro, underground, buses, etc - very friendly girl in the reception who informed us about Rome attractions and restaurants - very spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom (not often in Rome) - safe and quiet apartment
- lack of information about Apartments in front of the building - a little bit difficult to find it - lack of electronic kettle in the room - be careful of restaurants in the area, most of them are expensive, bad value with obtrusive guys as waiters - including Borgo Pio 92 very close to apartment - be careful of this restaurant, they will give you 15% of discount, but menu positions are overpriced :) Restaurants on Trastevere are cheap and good.
Staff (Simona) was friendly & helpful; accommodations were very clean. Location was excellent- close to St. Peter's, Vatican Museums, Metro station. Discount at restaurant next door was appreciated.
Climbing stairs with luggage was a little challenging.
Very friendly staff and excellent location. The apartment was cleaned daily and all the basic daily necessaries were supplied even pre-packed b'fast items. Would sure recommend the place.
the poor internet connection in the apartment otherwise we were very satisfied.
Excellent location.clean room perfect for few days away.
I'm really surprised that I found this place for such a good price so close to the Vatican with such great conditions and without the annoying atmosphere of hotels - this place and the friendly receptionist Simona made us feel at home. We could have easily forgotten that we are staying at a guesthouse and not at our own apartment if it wasn't for the everyday change of sheets and towels and the cleaning someone was performing secretly. Great place, don't hesitate to choose it when in Rome.
We stayed two nights in November of 2014 and loved it. The whole building was very clean and inviting. Our room was beautiful, the building is older, in the best way, and very lovely! There is a complimentary in room tea/coffee/breakfast which was wonderful. Easy to grab and go in the morning! I read that no lift was an issue...there are not many stairs! Not having a lift is not an issue, at least for us. The staff were so helpful and gave us suggestions on restaurants and some highlights of the city! You can walk to the Vatican in about five minutes and S.Pietro train station in about 15. The location is really in the heart if Rome and was wonderfully priced! They even arranged our private transport to the airport. I have nothing negative to say! I definitely recommend Borgopio91!
Location, staff, value, staff recommendations and assistance
A little small but excellent for the price
Super nice staff. Classy Rome room. They will clean the room everyday which is really really great !! Super great location just next to Vatican!! Can walk to Vatican and enjoy the night view. Definitly will book here again!!
Excellent location, great staff who suggested two very nice restaurant. A very nice bar pasticceria along the same road for breakfast. The room was clean and spacious.
the only minor is the fact that is above a restaurant so if is hot and you need to leave the windows open there is a little bit of smell. There is air conditioning anyway.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was bright an very nice, the kitchen was stocked for light use. A great location; short walk to Vatican, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, metro and bur nearby. Its on a pedestrian only street which is charming. I requested a car pick up to the airport at 03:30 AM and they took care of it including payment, on my CC of course.
Not much we didn't like. There is no elevator which didn't bother use, but some might not like it.
I like the small balcony where you can have a coffee in the morning...the bed was very comfortable too. The staff(Simona) she was very helpfull and lovely. I also like the area where is close to all shops and especially to vatican church.
There is no fridge and safety box.
The location was excellent, in a vibrant area very close to St. Peters Square. Simone, who was looking after the building could not have been more helpful. We would like to return to the area again but not this particular apartment.
The accommodation was very basic and our bedroom did not have a window. It was clean but sadly not somewhere that we wanted to spend any time in as we are used to a higher standard.
It's clean and near the places to visit.
No lift we have to use stairs.
Location - could not be better - just around the corner from Piazza San Pietro; Borgo Pio street restaurants - not advised. Staff gives list of other places to go - not checked - but seemed ok. Getting to upper floor (2nd? 3rd?) might be difficult with bags or to older people or children. (Staff helps with the bags. Thanks very much for that again!). Staff - super friendly and very helpful. We were really well taken care of. Airport car arrangement - very good alternative - door-to-door; EUR 70 for 4 people - which almost the same to what you have to pay using bus+train. Rooms - clean and nicely furnished (apart from paintings perhaps ;-)) Kitchen - ok for minimum requirements; nice that they provide it with cookies, coffee, sugar, jam... Bathroom - nice and clean; good white towels changed every day. Overall opinion - very good. Just kitchen equipment to improve. Place to return for sure (next year perhaps). Thank You Again!
Kitchen - equipped, but not as well as expected, could have been better (just 4 regular glasses - each one different; no wine glasses; not enough plates, all used up and with cracks; no salad bowls, etc.).
Great location near the Vatican and lots of cafés and restaurants. Simone was very helpful. The quad room was a good size for 2 adults and 2 teens.
We needed accommodation close to the Vatican and central to the other sites of Rome. Borgo Pio 91 was perfect! Not only was it mere steps from the Vatican/St. Peters (5 min walk), the street itself was lively but not over loud. No traffic, only laughter, the shop keeper's happy whistle as he bustled around the tables, and the occasional accordion. We kept our windows propped open. Simona, our hostess was excellent as well. Not only did she give great advice, she helped us book online tickets and held our luggage until our flight. An added plus: we have a child that is lactose/gluten free. Diagonal from the door of BP 91 is a gelatto shop that caters to both. What a find! We'd definitely stay again!!
We are a young, healthy family, so the stairs were no problem. However, if you have a medical condition that makes climbing steps difficult this is probably not the best option for you. In addition, this is an old building with loads of character. The rooms are simple but beautiful, just as our family prefers. However, if you're looking large showers, breakfast buffets (there were plenty of eating options downstairs on the street), elevators, and a 'standard' room, look for a hotel. Everyone's idea of comfort is different. For us, we truly enjoyed Borgo Pio 91.
The location, close to the vatican
Very steep stairs to reach the room , no elevator , no breakfast facility near the hotel. Very expensive compare to other facilities we stayed on our trip.
location staff spaciousness
no parking mushy bed
Semona was very nice. But this is definitely not for anyone who can't climb 4 flights of poorly lit stairs. The entrance door was so small we had yo turn our luggage sideways. The windows in our room were only 12" high. Made me concerned about fire.
Location was very good. Helpfull staff. English speaking staff. Good recomendations on restorants.
Staff wasn't at hotel all the time, even during the day. Very expensive offer for booking museum tickets or transfer to airport (almost double), if you want to use theyr help.
