The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a good location to visit Cortona
Beautiful accomadation with gorgeous grounds and pool. Fabulous breakfast was included. But best part is the most gracious, friendly, accomadating, helpful and pleasant staff we could have asked for. Really loved everything.
The only thing that could have been better was wifi that worked better in our room, but then we wouldn't have hung out in the comfortable couch area (with great wifi) and met so many nice people.
lOVED OUR APPARTMENT AND THE SWIMMING POOL AND THE SETTING .. WE WERE SO SAD TO LEAVE IT AND WOULD DEFINATELY RETURN AND WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION RECOMMENDING IT TO FRIENDS
WE ARRIVED AAT 2PM AND WERE UNABLE TO CHCK IT .. WE WERE DISAPPOINTED , ALTHOUGH WE ACCEPTED THAT CHECK IN WAS DROM 3PM, HOWEVER EVEN IF THERE WAS A FACILITYB TO ACCEPT OUR LUGGAGE WHILST WE EXPLORED THE AREA ...
the Property is beautiful and very picturesque.
The restaurant and taverna were closed - this was not made clear when we booked and meant we had to drive everywhere to get something to eat. The hotel did not handle a room enquiry well meaning we had to pay unneccesary cancellation charges for a surplus room. This could have been avoided.
Excellent service. Very nice pool area. Good breakfast. Very helpfull staff that gave us a lot of good tips what to do and where to go.
Missed a good resturant at the hotel.
I loved everything about Borgo II. It was quiet and tranquil; gorgeous gardens and pool! So relaxing! Just wish the restaurant was open! Difficult to find a place to eat after traveling for a long day and night!!
Location, room comfort, excellent pool.
TV had many channels but no international chaanels.
Beautiful old villa at the bottom of Cortona. Great facilities for all to use. Swimming pool a great bonus, particularly fir children.
Huge corner room, excellent front desk staff (Allessandro was most helpful in planning our few days there). Beautiful grounds. Just minutes from Cortona and a beautiful short drive to Montepulciano and Pienza. Tuscany at its scenic best.
No evening restaurant on site. No elevator, Parking lot over 50 yards from hotel, not fun in the rain
Great property, staff, grounds, location and atmosphere. Great stay and we would happily return to the borgo again!
Unfortunately the kitchen is not open this year. Wifi works but could be stronger. Not a major issue though.
Location Quiet Pleasant gardens and pool Near to Cortona but outside the town
Restaurant is currently closed
Very peaceful large property. Room was comfortable and breakfast good. Staff were friendly & helpful. Good value.
Wifi only available in Reception area. Restaurant not open for season during our stay.
Some smell in the room, had to open the widows to refresh the air.
We rented an apartment and it was beautiful. The location to Cortona and theTuscan countryside was perfect. This was my 5th time in the region and 2nd. Time to stay in the Cortona surroundings. We would stay there again w/o hesitation. The apt. Was spacious and fairly well equipped. As I said, it was beautiful.
Nothing. It was great and my 21 year old granddaughter was amazed by it. Ok, the mattresses were pretty firm.
Lovely surroundings. Very quiet during our visit. Peaceful!
The hotel grounds, building, lobby, and rooms were very well kept. The restaurant was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was also very good.
Had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs.
helpful staff when I got badly bitten by insects, very comfortable room
This is a gorgeous complex of buildings with friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and good restaurant.
Great restaurant but a bit expensive if you are a family. The restaurant staff were great. The hotel staff were great and very friendly. Our apartment was fantastic, very comfortable and well designed. It was very nice to stay here. The thing missing in the hotel was jug to make a cup of coffee/tea. Great location with easy access to Sienna, Florence, Contona and Tuscany...
We loved our stay. The apartment gave us the room and space we so badly needed. Could have stayed longer. Close to Cortona and other scenic Towns. Beautiful buildings and grounds. Just needs softer pillows...
What a gorgeous place! The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are fantastic and the pool - wow! I stayed in a 'deluxe double' room (not an apartment) and it was a treat. Very clean, spacious and comfortable, with my own ground floor terrace. Breakfast was very good and the lovely girl there made me a delicious double-espresso each morning - Bless! The staff were warm, very helpful and only too happy to answer any questions you may have. The food in the restaurant was lovely and not as expensive as I expected it would be. There's also an on-site laundry (washing powders are provided too) which is a God-send. One thing I would say - and it's not a negative, just a fact - Is that it's located about a 5-10 minute drive to the hill town of Cortona, so a car is almost a necessity. I fortunately met two lovely Canadian ladies who so kindly gave me a lift up to Cortona town (I got a taxi back for 10 Euro). It's also a 10 Euro cab fare from the Camucia-Cortona train station, but you should probably call the hotel and ask them to book a taxi from that small station to the hotel for you (which they happily did for me before I arrived) as I don't think taxis wait there for fares.
Nothing - It was amazing. But do look at renting a car if you're comfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road :)
Great swimming pool
rooms unexpectedly small
property location and charm of surrounding area, friendly and very helpful staff (alessandro)
A lovely hotel, we will stay there again and again and just so dissapointed that we had only 2 days there!
Only gripe is that our airconditioning was not cooling room enough
- the incredibly warm service at the hotel. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. I was getting married in another venue in Italy and would happily have stayed to get married in borgo il melone.
- perfect, couldn't fault it.
