- Location - grounds
- bathroom needs more attention (lighs, shower room, ...)
Location is perfect Staff was very hospitality Great value for money
No vegetables in breakfast
It's a beautiful hotel close to Varese. The hotel has all facilities we need, water pool, tennis court and more else. The breakfast is rich, and staff very friendly. Big parking, the start of the trip to mountain (peak) Monarch in 5 minute by foot.
Beautiful setting, large comfy rooms, incredible breakfast
Bed was a little hard and could not figure out how to operate the shower
Beautiful building & surroundings helpful & friendly staff
breakfast at the terrace historical building with history well-trained and friendly staff very good overall atmosphere
one of the two rooms we had smelled some chemicals (insecticide?), had to sleep with open window
It's a sumptuous hotel, Nice garden, poool, Nice breakfast, if you have a car, it's about 20 minutes to the italian switzerland .
a bit far from everything, if ou don't have a car it can be tricky. Bathroom a bit old and no hot water the last morning when leaving. The pool is only open from 10 am until end of afternoon
location far from lugano the way very crowd very old furnitures
Hotel is in very nice place, near Swiss Customs, very comfortable if you travel with Car, there is a free Parking, nice rooms, beautiful Villa and helpful staff. Rich breakfast.
the parking is not too far, only 200 meters from hotel. But be carefull, the lift is not working
I book a triple room with a baby bed and the hotel provide a double room. I complain at reception and they refuse to provide what I pay. They simply bring two baby bed in this small double room. The carpet was dirty and the door of bathroom have a big hole. The breakfast was crowded, too basic and with few choices.
The villa has a great traditional feel but with all the modern amenities you would expect. Rooms are interesting, spacious, and comfortable and staff are friendly and attentive. The lovely grounds and the villa's architecture provide something different, unique and appealing to many of the hotels in this area
Beautiful buildings, gardens, lively staff & delicious food, perfect!
The architecture and gardens building are stunning Helpful staff Pool (thou unheated) Watched a stunning lightning storm over the hills Comfortable and clean room thou small Good en suite shower Excellent parking
Lack of choice and freshness of breakfast Cooked breakfast choices ran out before end of service Small bedroom Nowhere to walk too so really need a car here
cleaning could be improved.
Great atmosphere and location. Good wifi in room. Good and quick repair service.
Hard beds, no lunch available, water was disconnected for repairs twice.
Undoubtfully charming building and gardenss not been
Unequaĺand highly risky stay. Some staff are great, others are not. Some rooms are fine but others are either too small or dark. The whole hotel has not been properly renovated and if one pays attention to the details, a lot could be said about the cleaness, the availability of staff, the noise etc. Would not recommend this villa since the stay can prove very disappointing
Great location to discover Como, Maggiore, Switzerland
Swimming pool Old style house - space around Big parking Located near swiss border
Our bedroom was above kitchen so we heard noises from kitchen.
Beautiful location, picturesque villa, and free parking.
Terrible nights sleep due to uncomfortable beds and non stop noises throughout our wing of the hotel.
This hotel is a romantic Italian villa with traditional Italian gardens. The architecture reminds of renaissance. The rooms are spacious and traditionally furbished. They have a huge parking on 3 levels. Internet speed was excellent. Good soundproof and the chamber maids were very discrete and quiet. This hotel is good for relaxing.
Breakfast was awful. The same poor choices for all 7 days while we stayed there. No vegetables, same cheap ham and one kind of cheese, also cheap. Scrambled eggs and bad cake. This was the breakfast. Better book a room without breakfast. The water in the pool was cold as ice even after 4 days with 30 Celsius degrees. Don't consider coming here for taking baths in the pool. There are better choices for bathing in the villages on the shore of the lakes.
Beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast eaten outside on veranda.
Unbelievably rude man on reception desk, if it wasn't late at night after a long drive we would have refused to stay in Hotel.
- hotel is providing with socked adapter - very good breakfast - first person from reception Mon, 28 July evening was helpful and kind (second ~12:00 Tue, 29 July was rude)
parking is difficult: - light is switching off before you can take your baggage - exit from parking is difficult (you have to drive up up and down to exit. DO NOT TURN RIGHT WHEN YOU LIVE THE PARKING! - puddle in the parking lot - difficult to enter from lift to your car
Our first ever visit to Italy provoked by a nephew representing GB at the under-23 World Rowing Championships in Varese. Villa Porro Pirelli was all we hoped it would be for our week there and much more - perfect location on a hillside on the outskirts of Varese with views across the town and to the surrounding mountains. A building, slightly faded in places but with real character. Spacious rooms, very clean with first-rate en-suites. Food was good but not as brilliant as other aspects of the Villa, We ate dinner twice in the hotel and the meals were OK to very good. Breakfast fare was more than adequate, but not the best ever. However, the opportunity to eat breakfast on the terrace in such a superb setting easily compensated for the indifferent eggs! It was just as we pictured a summer stay in an Italian Villa should be! Finally, we cannot praise the staff enough - all were friendly, helpful, coped well with our non-existent Italian and when we had the misfortune to need to replace a punctured tyre on our hire-car went well beyond the call of duty to help us deal with the local garage Avis had sent the car to for repair. Special mention to the charming Rossella for her help particularly. Nephew came 6th in the rowing, but we enjoyed several Brit medals and again really appreciated the kindness of the rowing organisers who also helped us with our punctured hire car.
My wife managed to "lock" me in the small chapel that is one of the older Villa buildings by inadvertently jamming the inner and outer doors together! Fortunately I was soon "rescued" by some other guests.
Beautiful grounds, nicely decorated rooms, Food was excellent. Good base to explore alpine villages from with a rental car.
Service a little slow, the shower and plumbing was poor although the bathroom was nicely updated. Very hard to get to the city centre with out a car. Food was expensive, but very good.
