Score from 216 reviews Wonderful
The welcome was fantastic and every member of staff was so helpful and kind. The rooms we incredibly clean and there was nothing like the relaxation of the wellness centre after a long day on the slopes! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Everything - a very very good hotel!
Staff very helpful and friendly, easy access to main ski lift, great room with attic bedroom for a family with children young or older (ours are 21 and 18) jacuzzi and games room downstairs a plus. We had two nights and one day of really good skiing with no queues!
Only the fact that it was a bad snow season and the whole village, hotel and all restaurants/cafes were very quiet. On the plus side no queues for anything!
The rooms are comfortable - a good nights sleep can be soothed by the sound of running water from the rushing river outside the hotel if you leave a window open, or near silence can be had with them closed. Quality fittings throughout. The breakfast was excellent, with delicious fresh fruit a highlight for me. The multilingual staff are extremely nice and helpful. Free secure parking indoors for my motorcycle was a bonus.
The gym has new equipment but it's limited - no free weights for instance. A supply of drinking water would be useful. There is no soap/shower gel dish in the shower.
The staff were fabulous. The location was lovely. The rooms were nice & seemed new. Everything was clean & the breakfast was great. Probably one of my fave hotels ever.
The airconditioning/heating in the room really dehydrated you, we found even with it off. The spa was lovely, but not quiet warm enough. But these were really minor compared to how great this place was.
ottimo personale, area wellness bello, grazie!
Hotel reception staff ( manager) extremely helpful and friendly. Well appointed rooms. Good breakfast, easy underground parking
Not the fault of hotel but...the town of La Thuile was closed off, without warning to guests, for a cycle race, so we had to scramble out using side roads and even so were nearly blocked out of our 500 mile journey after an overnight stop. No communication between police and hotel in advance. Too bad!
Better than most 5-star hotels Wonderful staff
Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. Location was amazing, 2 minutes walk to the ski lift and 5-10 minutes from several good restaurants. Spotlessly clean and the rooms very comfortable. Wellness centre was beautiful and had it all to myself.
Only slight problems we had were that the rooms were way too warm and the breakfast though good, was a bit dried out or stale. We put this down to the fact that the hotel was nearly empty when we were there.
Great location a very short walk from the lifts. There was a good selection at breakfast, The rooms were well-sized, with temperature controls rather than radiators. The ski room was large and well aired. It's a new hotel but everywhere was kept spotlessly clean. After a day's ski-ing it was great to go to the wellness centre for a sauna and jacuzzi. They have a booking system but there's enough slots for you to be able to get in but with plenty of room. All the above is included in the room cost. Hotels in ski resorts are never cheap, but I've paid similar proces (in France at least) for hotels with far fewer facilities and far less comfortable rooms.
We did a tour of the alps staying in a few hotels and this was the best by far. John the receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to make us feel at home. The hotel has everything you need from a lovely spa to heated ski boot storage. The bed was enormous and one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. It is a very short walk from the min lift station and next door there's a fantastic pizza place The Dahu. Would absolutely go back. Great Value.
The hotel is right by the slopes, really is nice and clean. The free snacks at 6pm is a nice plus. Sauna & Spa are great, and as they accept max 12 persons per hour, it gets never totally over crowded. There are a few good restaurants, one just by the hotel. The service is just excellent!
La Thuile is a small village, and as I have been in Courmeyer as well before, I would recomment spending e.g. two days & evenings there, if you plan on spending a whole week: the La Thuile ski ticket is valid for 2 days in Courmeyer as well. Skiing-wise I like La Thuile better - the ski area in La Thuile & La Rossiere is larger, has more variety, and offers different weather conditions sometimes: windy in France, perfect on the Italian side. The hotel is perfect, except it is very easy to hear voices from one room to another.
Rooms were excellent with very big comfortable beds. Showers were amazing and the cleanliness is second to none. The spa area was a real treat after a days skiing. Every single member of staff was friendly and helpful. The bar area was clean, comfortable and the variety of complimentary evening snacks good. All around the hotel there were little touches which made the hotel feel loved and luxurious. In the boot room there were cushions on the benches and air fresheners which ensured it didn't stink like most boot rooms!! In the hotel and spa, scented candles that were always lit along with pots of sweets and chocolates which were always stocked. The location is approx 100m from the main gondola and chairlifts which is no hardship to walk to and from. All in all an excellent hotel which I would return to once there are boiled eggs on the breakfast menu - my husband and friends would return without them!!
The only criticism is the selection of food at breakfast. And this is me being very very picky but I do love and look forward to boiled eggs for my breakfast when I go skiing! There is no kitchen in the hotel so the breakfast is cereals, breads, croissants, cake, cheeses and meats. There is slices of omelette with boiled sausages and bacon which I can only assume have been microwaved? which are okay. But like I say, I like an egg with a runny yolk!! And even without a kitchen, I am sure they could put one of the egg boilers with little baskets in which allows you to cook your own eggs. This is the only downfall to an otherwise excellent hotel.
Very well appointed 3* with friendly and helpful staff and very pleasant wellness centre. Spacious lounge with good free snacks from 1800 to 2030. Very large and comfortable 4 poster bed. Great location within a few hundred metres of the main lift. Good breakfast. No restaurant but so many other possibilities within walking distance. A fine hotel and very enjoyable stay.
Walls between rooms very thin so noise can be an issue. Pleasant bedroom but no seating area. Very sophisticted shower unit but small cubicle limited its utility.
location only 5 mins walk to gondola, friendly staff, cleanest hotel we have ever been in, most comfortable beds
there is nothing to dislike unless you are a very picky person. if i had to pick something it would be the breakfast could do with a little more variety especially on the cereals
Everything, especially the wellness area, very welcome after a day on the slopes. It was one of the most cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Extremely well situated.
Beautiful design throughout the building..very welcoming and helpful staff...super comfortable beds, and lovely breakfasts. Great Location. Warm ski room, with lots of room for kit.. Easy access to personal jacuzzi every afternoon after skiing, and able to take children in too! Will definitely return..
Hard to fault it...real glasses in the room would have been nice...but otherwise faultless!
Everything about the hotel was fantastic from the hospitality, ambience, spa but mostly the attentive and friendly staff. John, the manager is fantastic and this rubs off on to his team
Nothing, will definitely be back next year
Very cosy and good value for money
The gym and sauna area only opened at 4pm
Probably best hotel I ever stayed in.
Didn't like having to leave!
Truly exceptional personnel, ready to answer all questions and provide a service with a friendly, personal touch. Excellent SPA and very beautiful rooms. Walking distance from the ski slopes
The bar area, which is not very cosy.
Liked the rooms, the lounge and the facilities in the ski room. Lovely touch with pre meal snacks in bar. Good quality. Free wi fi. Leisure facilities good.
Would have liked milk in the room to make tea. Greater choice and standard of food on the bar menu.
Friendly and helpful staff. Waited up until midnight when we arrived. Thanks Marianna. Nice hot tub, sauna.
Very strict with usage of the facilities.
