The signage around the hotel is poor and our GPS could not locate the side street that the hotel address is associated with. It would be a big help if there was a larger, lighted sign on the property that faces the main street which the hotel sits on. The availability of ample nearby, well lighted, parking space is questionable / a challenge.
It also would help if the hotel website and Booking.com provided a clearer description of where the property is located and how to find it.
The hotel also lacks an airport shuttle. Since it is close to the airport, it would be nice if the owners could find a way to collaborate with one of the local hotel or airport shuttles or at least have one or two trusted cab companies that could be recommended and tapped on short notice to pick up and drop off guests coming from or going to the airport.
The owner is friendly and helpful. We had difficulty finding the hotel late at night and ended up in the port / harbor area close to the hotel because the nearby streets are poorly marked. When we were able to contact the owner, he actually drove out in his car to where we were at and he lead us back to the hotel. Upon arriving, we found a nice, quiet, spacious, and clean room. This was surprising because as others have noted, the hotel's neighborhood is more of an old industrial / shipping area and one might assume on first glance that the hotel would be worn, but that clearly was not the case. We definitely appreciated the personalized service late at night after a tiring day of travel.
