An Italian Masterpiece

Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic center. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.

Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.

For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

Beautiful city, lots to do and really comfortable to walk around. We didn’t get a chance to see the inside of the cathedral though as the queues were always way too long and we had other things booked, the cathedral free entry closes at 3.45pm which I think is a bit too early. So we will have to return for that and a few other things we missed as we didn’t have enough time.

For art lovers Florence is an absolute must. The amount of masterpieces just blows your mind. There is an abundance of Italian style restaurants with always friendly staff. Florence old city is not to big, you can get everywhere on foot, very tourist friendly place. Avoid the height of the season, already in march the crowds were dense.

I had been to Florence decades ago.

I had been to Florence decades ago. I still find the city lively and holding much of its charm with small artisan shops and cafes. There is an incredible sandwich at the train stain near the McDonalds. Flat bread with eggplant, cheese, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and peppers. 6.5 Euros. I was the best takeout I found in Italy without meat. Really enjoyed staying on both sides of the river in an apartment and a hotel. Florence is wonderful for day trips.

In Italy is called "la culla del Rinascimento" because is the city where Renaissance flourished. It has many cultural and artistically attraction where you can visit one of the most beautiful nd famous pieces f art of the world. Clean, small, easily walkable and well connected, is a city that welcomes tourists with open arms. Many attractions for Youngers are free or have reduced price. The culinary tradition is amazing and the wines are ones of the best I have ever tried. Overall is a city I really enjoyed, not too crowded but still populated.

The private room with a bathroom is in an amazing location, 10 mins flat walk from the train station, 5 minutes walk to the fresh food markets and around 8 minutes walk to the dome! I was on the 4th floor and assisted me with my luggage as it was only stairs. A map of Florence, cold water, tea and coffee, books etc all provided. Bed and pillows were the best and most comfortable I’ve had since I arrived in Italy 3 weeks ago. The place is also one of the cleanest. Would definitely stay again, great stay and excellent value for money.

So adorable! This hotel is fairly on the new side and has a chic/modern feel to it. The layout seemed to be well thought through and it has been beautifully decorated. My room was just enough space for one person. The location is far enough away from all the noise but close enough to quickly get to the action. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was #1 compared to the other hotels I stayed in during my time in Italy. I would definitely return for another stay here if I am ever back in Florence.

Very convenient location close to city center and the central train station. Very authentic place. Maria Antonia is very pleasant woman, extremely welcoming. She touched my heart by her hospitality, attention and willingness to help. She prepared for us delicious, generous breakfast, one of the best we've had during our stay in Italy. We were allowed to leave our luggage on last day of our stay whilst we spent the day in Florence. We really felt at home at this accommodation. Will definitely be staying again.

Our stay at Eliana’s was a great finale to our Italy trip. She prepared dinner for us in her garden. Romantic, relaxing, so delicious! We felt like we had a personal chef! She is a great hostess, treats you like family. It’s obvious she loves what she does. The room was spacious for a couple, very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning too. She fed us breakfast and brought us to the airport the next morning. We were well taken care of! So much better than a hotel! Highly recommend!

Good transport links to Florence and Fiesole. In a very nice suburb but there is not much to explore. We have aperitivo near the hotel which was in a nice bakery. Very comfortable room and clean. Very good shower. Nice breakfast especially the pastries. Fine if you're going to go out everyday. Dinner was fine but a bit overpriced. €18 euro for a small primi, which is very different to the rest of Italy. Wine selection is nice, again expensive compared to everywhere else in Florence

The room was very basic but was clean and had everything we needed for our three day trip in Florence. The location is near the train station and we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good and there was a good selection for such a basic hotel in Italy. At night we were able to sit on a terrace and enjoy a drink. There was no issue with noise anywhere in the hotel. Considering how packed Florence was, I felt we got the room for a good price. I would stay there again.

Florence is full of little hotels tucked away in side streets. This hotel was brilliant, boutique and filled with history. The moment we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff.
