The staff assisted me to change the room provided, which I was not happy with, to a lake view room. The view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains is breath taking and the hotel location is very good, particularly being close to the ferry to Bellagio which suited our plans. The hotel room cost was acceptable as we used the hotel only as a base for visits to the surrounding area. The room in the hotel I would describe as basic and the beds were very uncomfortable. I do think that anyone looking for something like the advertised rooms would be disappointed. The hotel itself is somewhat old fashioned and does seem to attract a more senior boby of guests. As a short stay, budget base hotel I would recommend its use. The room facilities were not representative of the hotel room photographs as displayed and this was disappointing. The room size and facilities were very basic.

We had one of the newer 6th floor rooms. It was ideal for 2 adults and our 16 year old son as it was very spacious. The housekeeping staff were great and the front desk staff, especially the Scottish lady and the young Italian man were extemely helpful giving us tips places to visit, where to eat, organising excursions, packed lunches and general info re buses, tickets, etc. The bar area had entertainment while we were there and was a good area to socialise. There are lots of nice places to sit and admire Lake Como. The hotel has a local bus stop right at the front door and coaches pick you up for day trips also. The restarant buffet offered a good range of food in the evening, especially welcome if you had been out all day The staff here were also very good - special thanks to Andrea and Claudio who worked tirelessly. Buffet breakfast was also very good. The hotel not having its own pool was a bit of a downside. You do have access to a pool just a very short distance away but it closes at 5pm.

Good location for holiday and also as a centre for visiting other areas on the Lake. The Lido was also ideally situated and was excellent. While I appreciate the hotel requires the income from coach parties, the hotel especially the dining room was quite hectic at times.

Hotel is beautifully positioned on the Lake and near the Ferry. It has all the facilities you need and our room had lovely lake views, very comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning. The Hotel also has free parking close to the Hotel. The Sun Terrace is a lovely spot early evening til late in the hot weather. Take the short Ferry trip over to the other shore for dinner; the ferris run till after 11pm. Not exactly a problem but a surprise was the restaurant. The Hotel caters for coach parties and has an 'all inclusive' deal for guests. As independent travellers the buffet style dinner arrangements were a bit 'Butlins' rather than the rather more individual service and menu we would have preferred.

I cannot think of anything good to say about this hotel. The staff at reception were unfriendly and unhelpful. The food was mainly overcooked and of poor quality. We only had one meal there because the food was so bad. I always thought Italians took pride in their cooking but not in this place. There were no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. There was a mini bar/ fridge which was empty and there was no room service. The soap provided in the bathroom was the most miserable portion I have ever seen and the shampoo sachets were impossible to open. It was never possible to use the swiming pool because of overcrowding and chairs being reserved by towels. This was one of the most expensive hotels I have stayed in and was one of the worst. The room was dingy and tired. The whole place needs a huge injection of capital and the reception, management and kitchen staff all require to go on a retraining programme.Until that is done this place should be avoided.

The location by the lake was splended, giving easy access to the Ferry. The food was reminiscent of school dinners. Fried breakfast only available during a set time within the breakfast times. Food ran out at times. Staff unable to keep up with the large numbers of people dining. Towels and soaps not regularly changed. At the prices charged one would have expected tea and coffee facilities in the room. While promised a room overlooking the lake, the room was at right angles to the lake, so only a small part of the lake was visible.

LOcation on lake BUT not as described. Not near anything. Hotel was at best a budget "all inclusive" "volume food" hotel with not many facilities with many older couples or small families. The location was not as expected and the value for money poor. (We found a much higher quality hotel at a cheaper price right in the middle of the nearby town)

We had a lovely spacious room on the 6th floor and we never had to wait long for a lift. The hotel is close to a ferry station, and the ferries go regularly even in April. We were also close to Villa Carlotta. There's a tiny church which looks like it's balanced on a cliff top, but you can actually walk there. You can get a route map from reception. There was a wide choice of foods at each meal and it was good value for money. It is a large hotel which gets very busy. Also due to it being such a popular destination for coach parties, the majority of people were elderly, with very few families or young people. It was all a bit chaotic when we arrived, as we chose to go to the 2nd sitting for supper. It was extremely busy. Staff didn't have time to clear the tables, and we had to queue to get in. The next night we went at 6.30pm! It seemed better later in the week.Coffee was not nice, but tea was ok.

Location was good. Hot/cold breakfast was convenient. Front desk staff helpful with my questions. Hotel housekeeping was very poor. Dirty hallways cluttered with leftover glasses. Carpet does not get vaccuumed daily. Replacement of towels is only every 3 days...not known when you check in.

Leaving. Sorry a bit? Caustic. The pool was ok. On main road. Cadennabra only an hotel restuarant and two or three shops sited on a main road. Nothing of immediate interest. Used by coach tour operators so a continuous through put of people, overwhelming, however friendly and cheerful peopl were.Breakfast served on a buffet basis so a swirl of people scouring for their breakfasts. Note 240ish bedrooms so potentially 500 people at any one time possibly only staying one or two nights. Staff at reception overwhelmed by shear volume.

Good position Too many people - everywhere was busy and full. Felt like cattle. Corridors etc didn't feel clean not least because the dirty laundry was left in the corridors for most of the day!

Hi This hotel was an absolute disgrace, we had booked this hotel as our honeymoon and we travelled all the way from Ireland, we arrived at the hotel late and they informed us there was no record of my booking, even though I had a reference number and they took my cc details, the whole of lake Como was booked out and we had to drive through the night to try and find somewhere, we thought we would have to sleep in our car, not a nice way to start married life. We finally ended up back at the airport and found a hotel at 4am, it was all very upsetting. I rang the hotel the following morning for an explanation and was told it was an error by staff and our room was infact there! This was not acceptable , I told them we would not be returning as we were hours away and our whole experience was ruined, when I returned home I checked my account and they had charged me for two nights, we had booked for 3, this is an outrage and I rang to complain, they would not give me the manager name and will not ans any of my calls or emails. I have contacted my cc company to investigate, stay away from this hotel, as you are dealing with a bunch of amateurs

We paid for a room with a view on the lake (so more money than a classic room) and we have effectively a view on the lake, but the fact is that we were in the ground floor with a door window right on the terrasse of the hotel were people can see everything inside your room. So we closed the curtains all the times and we didn't enjoy at all the lake view !

A good size room, although no view as it was in the interior section of the hotel. Close to the ferry dock so it was easy to take the ferry to other villages on the lake. Good deal for the buffet dinner. Pool was about 100 yards away. It's the first time for many years that I've stayed in a hotel whose main business is clearly package holidays so it was a bit more hectic than I'm used to. Since the pool was not directly connected to the hotel it was also open to the public for a fee but there was nobody checking to see who came in. There is not much to do in the area of the hotel.

Good location, easy to get to various other towns from the hotel using the Ferry. This hotel caters for the elderly, and does so very well. They should make this fact quite clear in their advertising. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers providing they were over the age of sixty five.

Our room was nice, over looked the lake. The checkout process was fine. We paid the night before since we had to leave early. That was nice. Dinner was bad. The food was bad, most of it was cold or the trays were empty. The service was understaffed. I could not recommend this to anyone.

The hotel room was very nice, large and gave us the possibility to relax. The breackfast was not good. The breackfast room was dirty, with food on the ground. We arrived at 9.30 in the breackfast room and everything was almost gone, although the breackfast time is until 10.00. Plus that the waiters were moving around cleaning the tables and it was not a nice environment to have a breackfast.

breakfast is good, location perfect, it is just in front of the lake como. the reception man's attitude is bad. on my booking information, the internet is available and free of charge, but when i asked him, he said that it is wrong, and don't want to explain more to me, the manner is bad. Worst dinner I ever had.

Great room with breathtaking view of Bellagio. Full american breakfast, yogurt, eggs, ham, cheese, bread, coffee, juices... etc. Behind the hotel are mountains with trails. Great experience! Would recommend There wasn't someone at the front desk at all times. The hotel is about an hour away by bus from Milan... but the views are worth the ride.

Room with lake view was large, airy, clean and comfortable. Great view of the lake. Flatscreen TV with British TV channels amongst others. Bathroom & shower were modern and no complaints there. Most likely due to being out of season, this hotel catered very much for the elderly demographic, with coach trips for the over 60s appearing to make up the majority of the hotel's residents. Dinner's were of a good standard, varied, and the atmosphere was warm, clean and friendly, but again, it would seem were planned for older guests with a more conservative, British palette. A comfortable and peaceful hotel nonetheless and would eat & stay there again.

After booking on line, we were impressed to receive a courtesy phone call from the owner informing us of arrival arrangements since it was out of season and we were late in arriving. He also suggested a lovely local restaurant that was good value. The reception and breakfast staff were very friendly. It is a huge hotel, so not intimate, but well located right on the lake, and pleasantly decorated and clean. Would stay there again.
