The view from our room was breath taking. The location was wonderful, with a close ferry to take you over to Bellagio and Varenna. Bus stop right across from hotel. Wonderful cozy restaurant next door, a charming Bar just 1K up in Griante and a little grocery market next door. We stayed in a Deluxe Lake view with balcony and loved our room. Also the parking options are good compared to options at other locations.

The breakfast buffet is alittle crowded due to tour groups, but we didn't stay here because of free breakfast.

our room was spacious and had panoramic views over the lake towards Bellagio.

the diningroom was to full and tables to close together. Food was not of a good standard, no fresh orange juice for excample. the main guests were all inclusive and that had a bearing on the ambience of hotel

the location is great . very close to everything especially to bellagio and lenno . the transportation link to Mennagio and Switzerland is very easy as well . the view outside is gorgeous especially at early morning and late afternoon . our room view was beautiful . the staff was helpful though very busy as the hotel was fully loaded with visitors . the breakfast was good (the the presentation was somewhat poor) . cafe , a minimarket and a restaurant are within a few steps from the hotel which was very convenient at such a quiet place .

hygiene hygiene hygiene . there was a hygiene problem . we stayed three nights and we noticed that the room was always dusty . we had to leave the towels on the ground to make sure they will change it . they didnt provide new towels the second day . the room was very small and not matching the price . despite of all these problems , would I stay in this hotel again ? definitely YES . why ? the location , the views , the facilities around , the easy transportation links to the lake villages and switzerland , .......... even the price is very good compared to Belagio's rates ............ all these would make me stay there again and recommend this hotel to others .

We had a lake view and loved the location. It was a beautiful clean hotel and hotel staff were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised. It was a bit of a walk from the Ferry Station, but in a perfect location and travel was easy. Bus stop located right outside hotel. Hotel room was elegant, simple and clean. Good size. The food at hotel was great.! We would stay again!! Located directly across the lake from Belaggio, a bit quieter and beautiful.

The separate restaurant and pool facility 200 yards away by the lake was clean and well presented, evening meal was good value and disco music was refreshing.

The hotel was shabby, the room had not been serviced before we arrived (fridge still had other food/drink and bathroom still had old soap etc), the door to the room did not close properly (room was off reception !), the bathroom light did not work properly, the balcony door did not close properly (ground floor !) the reception staff were surly and despite confirmation of free parking on site they tried to charge me 3 Euros a day.

We were the youngest guests by about 50 years! Breakfast also wasn't very good. There was a large selection, but the quality of food on offer was poor.

The particular room we had (3 beds, lakefront) was nicely restored in the old style grandeur which it once must have had.

Breakfast - quality (very little choice, poor quality food) and organisation (noisy, chaotic, only from 08:00 to 09:00 are there some eggs and sausages available). This was something one only would expect from a Formula 1 hotel. After two days we ended up having breakfast outside the hotel, although it was included in the price.

We had a truly excellent stay at the Britannia. We stayed 4 nights, breakfast only, in a lake view room. But before checking in we had heard horror stories of unclean, tiny rooms, dinner buffets that were too busy and a pool that you had to wear a swimming cap to go in and could never get a lounger. However as I say our own experienc3e was different. Our room was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and air-conditioned. We only went to brakfast once - choosing to skip a cold croissant and warm coffee for extra time in bed. There were plenty of restaurants near by and the although busy, the pool area was very pleasant (and a welcome break from the heat of the village. We appreciated the free wifi in public areas and found the staff to helpful and friendly. Overall we had a great trip, however one word of caution is that it seems not everyone has the same experience!

The front desk staff were courteous and efficient as were the restaurant staff and others. Old world style, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Comfortable rooms,clean and tidy.

Understaffed in the room cleaning department especially when large groups left and the rooms had to be ready for the next.This left little time for the other rooms to be thoroughly cleaned.

I loved our room, overlooking the Lake Como with a mini balcony! Large room with British tv channels, nice after being in Europe for a week. Great bathroom with large shower.

Very busy, had to wait forever to get help at the front desk. The breakfast was very basic, lots of people, hard to find a place to sit!

First room on top floor of hotel was ok.We asked for an upgrade to a bigger room with a Lake view.Hotel staff upgraded us with no fuss to a lower floor with Lake view.Second room was far superior.Pool area was nice.There was free wi fi in reception.

Food was very poor.Breakfast was hit or miss.One morning ok the next inedible. More suited to an older clientele.Alot of over 60's customers not many families or children to be seen.Downstairs bar had no atmosphere and you had to get in a queue for your drink.

Good location on the banks of Lake Como. Breakfast is very busy and I had to wait for 15 minutes for fresh croissants to be brought out.

Elegant and stately rooms. Quality mattress.Great buffet for the three meals. Best location for taking tours on the lake.

The reception sometimes is rather busy. We had to wait a while before checking in since a group of Englishmen was before us. Not a big deal though.

Its location, right on the lake, is very good. The cute village of Menagio is very close.

The breakfast was very bad. The food was not good, choices were limited and service was not adequate for the huge number of people attending the breakfast. Also, this hotel gathers a lot of senior people.

Staff worked vorked very hard, with what was avalible to them, but i heard many complaints from other guests about the tiny rooms, this they tried to help where possible but the hotel, looks to have a policy of making rooms ridiculasely small to maximise room numbers /profit etc,

I have been traviling solo around italy for 33 days now and the room l was given at this hotel was the smallest in italy by about about half, the room only had enoght room for a small single bed but at least you could walk around it. In my 33 days in italy this room was the smallest by far and was also the most expencive, it cost more even than my room at porafino, but that room was twice the size. In fact everytime i went to the check in counter i had to wait as someone else was pomplaining about the small rooms. One poor pr of english girls told the staf that the could not even fit thier bags inti the room, another oriental man was saying theat one of the 3people in his room was having to crawl over anothers bed to get into his own, that was terrible as the prices this place charges are very high Italy has some of the best food in world but unfortunatly, this hotel serves food geared to wards its english clients, and this hotels english food is very poor,they should of had a much better standard for the prices paid.,,
