Hotel information

Giacomo Brufani, born in Assisi, was of modest origins, but since he was a young boy, he showed a particular interest in tourists. In 1884 he decided to open a hotel, which immediately became the home away from home for aristocrat families coming from all over Europe.

Guests in modern times include Prince Albert of Monaco and the Queen Mother of England.

The spacious halls and public areas, with their painted high ceilings and original parquet floors, have been carefully restored to their antique splendor offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Umbrian landscape.

The hotel's meeting rooms are attractive and well-equipped with sound amplification, an illuminated panel, a slide projector with screen, video and DVD player.

The SINA Fitness Club features an indoor swimming pool with a transparent glass floor, revealing its 3,000 year old Etruscan ruins. Next to it, there is a gym room with sports equipment, sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and chaises longues for moments of relaxation.

Food & beverage

The “Collins” Restaurant, with its outdoor terrace in the summer, is famous for its regional cuisine and is highlighted by a great selection of refined wines.

The American Bar, decorated in an English style, is the ideal place to savour an afternoon tea or cocktail.

Luxurious banqueting halls are available for private parties in an exclusive atmosphere, while the roof garden can hold up to 75 people.

The cosy atmosphere of the old fashioned residence offers 94 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, all equipped with modern amenities and comfort. Beautiful views of the Umbrian valley and the medieval roof top landscapes.

Area information

The hotel is just a distance from the tranquility of Lake Trasimeno, the mystical ambiance of the city of St. Francis, Assisi, and the still intact medieval world of Gubbio and Todi.
The Galleria Nazionale, Oratory of San Bernardino, The Palazzo Dei Priori, The Fontatana di Piazza and San Severo are also easily accessible from the hotel.

The staff are just outstanding. I did an impromptu luncheon on the 3rd floor balconey, which was organized by Carmella a receptionist at the front desk, which was both good value & an oustanding success.

Being able to hand over the keys of our car on arrival and then asking for it the next day - wonderful. No hassle. The position of the hotel on high ground next to the old town was excellent. Made the walk out in the evening very easy. The hotel was pleasant and the pool great fun. Wound have preferred the small tearoom to have been open during our stay. The view from there was a delight.

Having tea in the bar was satisfactory and the staff friendly but there were plenty of businessmen there having meetings. Our room was very good but on the second floor southwest side [minimum floor level and side for a great view above the trees] we were the only room not to have a full balcony [only "juliet"]. Website should have made that clear.

sicuramente la posizione. in pieno centro e' un ottimo hotel

penso che la colazione dovrebbe essere inclusa nel prezzo della camera visto i prezzi. ma 35 euro a persona mi sembrano veramente troppi. noi non abbiamo usufruito della colazione

Grande delusione!!!!e questo sarebbe un 5 stelle luxury?! forse nel 1890...decadente, staff odioso, puzza di fogna, da cosa si misura la categoria di un hotel, dal prezzo dell'acqua nel frigobar (5,50 euro)?!dal costo della colazione owiamente non inclusa (35 euro per persona)?! la piscina interna è suggestiva, bella da guardare.punto. per il resto, hotel come questo andrebbero rivalutati, in pegg

Prachtige ligging.

Prijs van het ontbijt. Niet inbegrepen 30€ pp. Dit is écht overdreven. Wij hebben ons ontbijt op een gezellig terrasje genomen. €15 voor ons tweeën. Goed en gezellig

Das Zimmer war relativ groß. Die Fenster allerdings sehr klein

Das Hotel wirbt mit einer schönen Terrasse, die aber leider weder zum Frühstück noch zum Essen bewirtschaftet wird. Leider ist die Terrasse nicht zugänglich, so dass man Den schönen Blick des Hotels nicht genießen kann

Top locatie in oude centrum van de stad. Een gezellig terras buiten op straat. De drankjes worden geserveerd met een borrelnootje en chips. De kamerkamer was ruim, schoon en sfeervol.

Het is jammer dat het ontbijt veel te duur is (vanaf EUR 35 pp); indien iets extra besteld wordt, moet er weer extra betaald worden. De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding van diner is redelijk.
