Hotel Burchianti    

Wonderful! I really enjoyed staying in this well located and elegant, small hotel in the heart of old Florence! The people there were kind and helpful and the hotel is close to everything. It is also conveniently handy for Firenze SMN railway station.

Excellent location – 7 minutes from the railway station and 5 minutes from Duomo. All attractions are easily reachable in walking distance. The hotel is unique rennaisance building with very pleasant atmosphere. Our room (No 6) was large and clean with beautiful frescoes on ceiling and walls. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our stay was comfortable and convenient.

Don´t be surprised by the breakfast, which means sweets, jam, yogurt and tea or coffee only.

Very good location. Very nice receptionist (and owner of the place) who in part also serves breakfast and gives you a very different feeling than staying in a modern or anonymous hotel.

Nothing reallyThe hotel is situated on one floor of an old palace. Old palaces in Florence are often a bit dark, and this is not an expection.

I loved the gentile atmosphere of the hotel. Everything was very tasteful and I would recommend this hotel to all my friends. The manager was charming. The location is excellent and close to most things.

The frescos are phenomenal. I loved being in a place built in 1528! It was terrific living in history, and the manager was so helpful and informative about the building and the area. The owner is also there most of the time. She doesn't speak English, but she is a dignified beautiful older woman who lets you know she cares about you being happy. Also, the location is terrific. It was an easy 2 blocks from the train station; we just pulled our luggage there. It's also just a couple blocks from the heart of old Florence and the cathedral and market; it's just a block or so away from the Medici chapel.

Based in Renessaince palazzo, with frescoes covering bedrooms for 4 ( plane walls in singles) this centrally located family-run hotel was a splendid part of discovering Florence. Grazie mille, Mario!

Be prepared that Italian breakfast means sweets, coffee and yougurt.

Beautiful large clean room. The staff were very professional, and the room is exactly as advertised. Wonderful breakfast in the morning.

The design of the hotel is fantastic and creates charming atmosphere. I stayed in single room, it was big enough. They have coffee machine with good cappuccino. Location is perfect - 5 min from the railway staition and close to the center. There are good restaurants around hotel.

All hotel staffs are very friendly, helpful, and nice to discuss about everything. Good location, close to areas most visited. Quiet hotel, good place for take rest after whole day you spend your time for tour.

We arrived in a taxi from the airport which was a good idea as the hotel is in a building with other appartements and not too easy to find for a newcomer. Excellent welcome and good staff, we were offered free plans of Florence and could just walk all over the place easily from the Hotel. Very close to the train station where we walked a couple of metres to take our train back.

The free wifi does not work very well.

Staff gives personal attention to needs. Mario who oversees the operations is pleasent and friendly. Feeling is more a guest at someones residence rather than another guest in a hotel which might not be for everyone, but something we enjoyed.

Not much choice at the breakfast buffet. But great coffee.

Feels like a sweet home once got up to the reception, warmly welcomed by a cute old woman who treated us like her grand children. Very comfort room plus excellent location. Last but not least, a perfectly refreshing breakfast

LOVED our room, #1, which sleeps up to four ppl, lots of beautiful frescos on ceiling and walls. Quirky bathroom with no real shower stall--just a pull around screen and a drain in the floor--but it was kind of an adventure! Best croissants and good yogurt, though not much else. Manager and owner on hand, and wonderful to sit and talk with in the common room. This is a small hotel, around four hundred yrs old, and wonderfully restored. In spite of sleeping issues, a bit of OCD and a touch of germaphobia, I loved this place because I'm in love with history and antiques. If you want a quaint, old Italian hotel, and can see the quirky bathroom as an adventure, this hotel is for you!

The bed was a queen size, and rather like a pull out sofa, without the sofa. Yet, with an Ambian and my prerequisite sound machine making white noise, and a 6'6 husband taking up a large part of it, I slept well. My 11yr loved her twin bed (which looked like a black wrought iron day bed--there's two of them--and slept fine). The bathroom wasa bit small, and the shower was a bit of a challenge. If I needed to stay more than a day and a half, it might lose its charm. But looking up at those gorgeous frescoed ceilings made it worth while, I thought! Also, it's close proximity to the train station makes the area not so wonderful, though our street still had its charm, and I'm picky! But you'll be out touring anyway, so it shouldn't bother you. It didn't bother me!

The room was impressive with all those frescoes. The man in charge was very kind and friendly. Breakfast was good and simple. Don't miss the capuccino and ciccolatta with cantuccini!

The beds were not very comfortable. It was difficult to find for the first time. The room was quite dark and the tv too small for such a big room.

Excellent hosts! Gorgeous/Giant 16th cent. Room upgraded. Location ideal (don't make the mistake of cabbing from train station walk! Blocks) Duomo 3 blocks...

The internet in my room was weak at times . Better in the public room. The breakfast was very simple....would be nice to have something warm...maybe a toaster? But these points are minor...stay for the price, the warm hosts and the unique rooms.

This hotel is very unique and charming, more like a B & B.We stayed in a very spacious triple room ( so good not to be tripping over your luggage ) with frescos on the ceiling and the most comfortable beds. Beautifully furnished breakfast room with Rela the owner, making the BEST cappuccino we had in Italy. Mario and his son were always welcoming and helpful at arranging tours for us. Great location. We found it easy to find as I had read the reviews that said to look for a small brass plate that read Hotel Burchianti. Highly recommend.

The staff was very friendly, caring and helpful. The hotel was very suitable for a family travel. The roof-top painting in each room of this hotel was the most impressive, along with the 500-year history of the property.
