The location was convenient, the staff was helpful and the breakfast was amazing. We enjoyed the lounge overlooking the Grand Canal while we waited to get into our room. The bed was wonderful. This was a perfect ending to our trip to Italy.
Main hotel area is opulent. Evening drinks overlooking the Grand canal in the lounge area Bedrooms in different building - very spacious, with mix of old and modern. Excellent breakfasts. We had a dinner for 9 in the hotel, in the main lounge - excellent food, even better wine, very personal service, and reasonably priced. Arriving and departing by water taxi directly into the hotel is worth the extra expense. Feels very special. Staff were all great
Long walk to the rooms if they are in the adjacent building. Not an issue for us, but a lot of stairs.
The hotel is situated on the canal, although we only saw walls from our room. Breakfast was excellent, freshly squeezed orange and good espresso along with a spread of fruit, meat, cheese, sweets, breads, yogurt, and eggs. Bed was super comfortable. Reduction of the bill due to deficits.
Difficult to find if you are not familiar with Venice - even a local shopkeeper close by didn't know where it was, but kindly phoned the hotel to ask for directions. The lighting in the bathroom was very weak. There is a notice to leave the key when we went out - we don't like doing that. We were not informed that we had the only room key so our room was not cleaned nor bottled water replenished. Requested a bottle of water - waited 40 minutes - never arrived. Only enough hot water in the morning for one of us to shower. Over priced hotel for the service provided. In all fairness, our bill was reduced to compensate for the problems we experienced.
Location overlooking Grand Canal - excellent! Next to Accademia bridge - excellent! Great waking up to noise of river traffic!
Second bathroom too small.
Comfortable beds, breakfast was amazing next door, gorgeous views day and night.....hard to pull myself away from the windows. Be prepared, floors are not level in some rooms. We didn't mind at all, it's too beautiful to care. Staff extremely nice helping with taxis, directions. Can't wait to return.
After I booked, common areas were closed off, just disappointing.
Excellent staff, fabulous breakfast, beautiful bar, grand canal frontage for our rooms and bar, good value
No air con, grand canal frontage room actually very noisy: next time we will stay in a non canal frontage room and enjoy the canal from the bar. Mosquitoes bad at night. Directions for public transport could be better (both map and words provided by hotel poor) just get a water taxi as hard to find on foot. Zattere is the closest water bus station to the hotel ( quite close, only one bridge!). Overall we liked the hotel though.
We were upgraded to a new room, that was huge with a window overlooking the grand canal.
the breakfast area is great!
It’s a kind of creepy when you were looking for the hotel and it is like living in an old castle........ But there is a square, ACTV station and Gondola nearby which is very convenient.
Definitely the most hospitable welcoming to a hotel in Europe, and I've now visited six in three weeks. Premium without being pretentious. The room was incredibly large as was the bathroom, we could have stayed there for a month! The staff would bend over backward for us, and were just really lovely. The breakfast was nothing short of fit for kings and queens! I wish I could put pictures on here because you wouldn't believe me! Set in what's looked like a castle was an enormous table laid out with ALL the food and rink you could imagine no matter your preference; even tiramisu! I could have stayed in that room alone for hours. Ten stars, I'd go back time and time again.
Having to leave.
Spacious rooms Friendly staff
No air condition
Beautiful spot. Huge room on the grand canal. The building is being renovated which makes it affordable! Loved it.
Absolutely beautiful location on the Grand Canal with a very accommodating and attentive staff.
The hotel was impressive and the staff couldn't be more helpful
Never had any hot water in the shower
Amazing Location Great Staff
Breakfast options were a little limited
Loved that it was more like an apartment than a hotel. Breakfast staff were friendly and otherwise we didn't see staff. Location was excellent with lovely view. Room was on a slant which was quirky and decor in general was old and modern in a nice twist.
Price- but this is like everything in Venice. Way more expensive than it should be. No lay in- rooms were close to breakfast/communal area so noisy at around 7.30-9.
I got a suite, right on the canal and very spacious, but cannot say what the "normal" rooms are like. Breakfast was nice, small but very personal.
Arriving at Ca De Uscoli and hearing the students practising in the Conservatoire, adjacent to the building, aswell as the statues, brickwork and entrance, are a unique experience. The view from the breakfast room could not be rivaled. The position is quiet - close to, but far enough away from the touristy hustle and bustle of St. Mark's.
The room was quite sparse. There was no where to put my suitcase apart from on the floor. There are plenty of cupboards to put it in, but every time I wanted to open it, I had to lift it out. Although the bathroom was adequate, the performance of the shower wasn't good (no real pressure, no constant temperature - hot one minute, freezing the next).
Location Huge bedroom over looking Grand Canal. Great breakfast. Staff were very helpful.
Bathroom was too small. Bare necessities in room e.g. no chair for desk. We were in building next to main hotel section. Building was in state of repair and updating to better standard.
The atmosphere. It was a mixed of contemporary style in a Venetian palace. We had fantastic breakfasts in the next door hotel that takes care of the Uscoli guests. The decor of that palace was like being transported in time and I felt like I was living a Venetian dream. :)
We had some noise girls that spend some time in the common areas. Also, I need complete darkness to sleep and the light of the living room got through lower und upper part of the door. It was minimal, but well...
Wonderful room with view directly over Grand Canal. Good breakfast and welcoming staff.
Kettle would have been good.
Breakfasts in the palazzo, fantastic views, central locatio, great staff, quality and size of accommodation good too
Wi fi signal not great in room
Was great the room was very large especially for European standards. It was in a quite part of town but still easy to walk to water taxis/bus etc the adjoining property Palazetto Pasini where we had breakfast each morning was totally amazing!!!!! The furnishings art on walls and architecture were breath taking! In fact I think next time we come to Venice will try and stay here! Also it was beautiful time to be in Venice as there were no mad crowds.
Nothing I was happy with everything. Would suggest if you are staying there get there before nightfall as it is a little difficult to find at night.and be aware that you will have to carry bags up and down stairs (bridges) unless taking taxi. Also hotel has no lift but there is a porter to help with bags
The decor of the place was fantastic. 24 hour assistance
No coffee or tea in rooms
