Hotel Ca' Formenta  

L'hotel è in una ottima posizione, a soli due ponti di distanza dalla fermata dell'Arsenale del Vaporetto. L'accoglienza è ottima e la colazione è sufficientemente ricca. L'Hotel sta rinnovando alcune camere ma I lavori non interferiscono con il soggiorno.

Molto vicino al centro, molto molto gentili I componenti dello staff...abbiamo anche avuto in regalo per il mio compleanno una bottiglia di prosecco appena arrivati, e anche una gita in taxi fino a murano!!colazione buona!

Poche prese di corrente(una in camera e una in bagno), quindi possono esserci problemi se già avete due telefoni da caricare, piu ovviamente fotocamere e altro...

Our room was beautiful. The view of the lagoon and St Mark's was breathtaking. The service provided by the friendly and professional staff was exemplary. They did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We were able to purchase tickets to events, tours and arrange water taxi service through the staff. The breakfast buffet was ample and varied. Our room was very clean and well-maintained with nice amenities like huge bath sheets. As lovely as the hotel property is, we would return because of the people who work there. They go beyond being hotel-keepers to being gracious and welcoming hosts!

We have stayed at the Ca' Formenta in the past and decided to return this time for another family trip. We were not disappointed. The hotel is in a handy location just a short walk from St Mark's Square. It is very easy to get to with the vaporetto (line 4.1 or 1 from Central Station to Arsenale) then two bridges (with handy ramps) and you're there. Comfy bedroom with lagoon view and everything you need. Great shower. Breakfast has all you need: cereals, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, breads, cheese, ham jam, fruit juice, hot drinks etc etc. Staff all very friendly. Venice is always a pleasure to visit and the Ca' Formenta is in a great position to explore from. Line 1 on the vaporetto takes you all the way up the Grand Canal to the major sites. You can also catch the vaporetto to Burano/Murano/Torcello with one change. I advise you get the 2 or 3 day vaporetto tickets rather than a ticket for each journey. It works out much cheaper. It is true you can walk a lot and we always do but we still saved.

The staff were delightful. The hotel is in a great location: quietier part of Venice but still close enough to walk to the centre. We will happily use this hotel again.

Excellent location close to the main sites of the Venice Biennale and also walking distance to Piazza San Marco and with beautiful view overlooking part of the Grand Canal. Bathroom appears to have been newly renovated and fairly clean.

Carpets are fairly old and may have been mildew stained. Staff say that they plan on replacing them this Winter.

Great location, helpful information on website re getting to the hotel. Could accomodate my gluten free request for breakfast

Shower was not fully functioning and leaked terribly. Although a no smoking hotel, the previous occupant had clearly been a heavy smoker and they simply put us in the room regardless. I did give them feedback but I didn't really feel that they aceepted it was not really acceptable.

Quiet and out of the main tourist area but plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Near to the main Biennale sites - Giardini and Arsenale. Good buffet breakfast.

Absence of a lounge. Maybe an idea to adapt "innercourt" for this purpose?

As my main reason for staying in Venice was the Biennale, the location was excellent. The hotel is nice and friendly, reception's staff is helpful. The room was small and so the bathroom, but taking into consideration the price per day, the location and the general conditions of the hotel - it was a very good choice, and hopefully, in the future we will return to Ca' Formenta.
