While the design of the hotel has an attractive art nouveau/art deco sensibility, all of the surfaces are hard. So noise gets amplified (like the dog in our neighbor's room). We had four armchairs, but no couch in our suite, and it would ahve been nice to be able to shut a door from the bedroom to the living part of the suite, so the suite was more like a large room. The lighting is not great, particularly for my wife's needs, there weren't enough drawers for putting things away (we stayed four nights), and so forth. But if you like the style, you might love this hotel.
We loved the staff, all very helpful, friendly and willing to help with suggestions and bookings. The breakfast was very nice as well. The location in Dorsoduro is excellent: calm, though not far away from the bustle of San Marco and other popular parts of Venice.
