Beautiful palazzo and owners. Treated like we were at home. Very central.
Was very well presented but fairly basic and minimal.
I like the amenities of this hotel it is very cozy inside the room
The location is a little bit hard to locate
lovely people. fantastic property and room
shame the bed was two single joined together
a great B&B. Good choices for breakfast. Staff was very helpful.
I've visited Venice 4 times now & this is by far the best place I've stayed at. The location is fantastic, only a few minutes walk to Rialto & St Mark's Square. The building is beautiful, it's the family home of Marco Polo & absolutely stunning. The staff were so helpful & friendly & organised a lot of things for us. Everything was perfect.
Only problem was our room was very hot, got told to turn the heating off which we did but there was still heat pumping into the room so I think they need to get this looked at. Had to open windows which in November is ok but I did end up getting some mosquito bites.
Great Location. You can walk to all the major sites.
Lovely room, reminds one of 15th century castles. Quiet location. Very helpful and most pleasant young woman who speaks good English, at the front desk.
Difficult to find at first, but we did ok after the first two times.
The staff was very nice
Location is fair, because to get to the hotel in the evening is through a deserted alley.
Wonderful location High quality accommodations Excellent Breakfast Friendly Staff
Loved the history, the room and the location.
Breakfast was poor.
It is the birthplace of Marco Polo and it is beautifully decorated.
We loved the ambiance and careful restoration of this centuries-old building. The location is perfect for exploring all parts of Venice. The staff was friendly, helpful and always willing to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the fact that they arranged an early check-in for us.The breakfast was fresh and filling. We particularly liked their coffee service which provided freshly ground coffee in an amazing variety of brews.
The dark "alley" approach was a bit intimidating but once there the building was great. The card-activated electricity in the rooms made it awkward to recharge our electronics but we did manage.
Great location and great rooms like palace rooms :) also breakfast is sufficient
Location, staff, decor, breakfast, hot showers. Infact no complaints at all
There was nothing we did not like.
Very quiet with loads of character, very olde world. Staff very helpful and loads of places to eat nearby. Venice is a great city to explore but be prepared to walk. The staff were happy to give advice and directions to wherever. We had a lovely break and would definitely return to Venice and this hotel.
Venice can be confusing as loads of the streets and alleyways are similar but once you realise how to get back to the Rialto bridge or where the bridge is in relation to your current location, you can always get back to the hotel pretty easily. This wasn't a "didn't like" more a realisation.
The friendliness of the staff, the quiet but central location, the history of the building, the comfort of the room.
There isn't anything.
Liked the courtyard area entrance and fact that there were also family homes within the courtyard. Reception and dining area wooden ceiling beautiful and the fact that you knew it had been a family home (Marco Polo for instance!) Reception staff friendly and helpful and booked us a concert although we had to let ourselves in on arrival. Good location for exploring Canneregio and Ghetto districts and Rialto. There are a couple of nice restaurants 50 yards away with friendly staff and reasonably priced menus. Breakfast ok.
Although our room was immaculately cleaned and serviced, it was probably the smallest in the property (standard twin) and I found it a bit claustrophobic as it was at the side of the house room facing a wall just a few feet away so not much light came in. That said I peeked in other rooms when they were being serviced and they looked a good size.
The location - very near the Rialto Bridge. The building - very historical and well maintained. The decor - in keeping with the building and city. Breakfast - Lots of choice and substantial.
Historic hotel. Old style rooms, some with canal views. Breakfast descent and friendly staff. Good location, near st. Marcus square and rialto bridge.
Wifi had bad signal and low speed. Rooms with canal view have only window (no balconies), with limited views and it seems that the canal in front of hotel is quite busy and noisy (windows no sound proof).
The location was perfect, quiet and considering the peculiarity of Venice access to the guest house is not too bad from public transport and the owners instructions were spot on. Yet i understand why some guest might have gotten lost to get there as i am sure people do to find most hotels in Venice. The front desk/manager was very friendly and helpful and even gave great suggestions for eating out. The deco is perfect for the location, the fabric on the walls gives a fantastic and sophisticated feel.
You would have to constantly log in to the wifi for internet use but since we were there to relax and not work it was fine for a quick check to the email. For "breakfast" lovers may be disappointing as this is kept to a minimum though we wouldn't make a fuss over it. These two points are more an observation rather than a complaint as we did manage to do whatever we needed on the internet and would not go hungry after breakfast.
The location of this hotel is excellent, and very close to the main sights. Whilst it could be slightly difficult to find, the hotel does a stellar job of providing directions and points of reference in the days leading up to your stay. The staff here are excellent and there are a number of thoughtful touches, such as the aforementioned pre-stay information. iPads can be lent to travellers, the staff make known the availability of a bathroom for use after having checked out (if returning to pick up cases left there), and there are maps with good restaurant suggestions available. Breakfast was good. Sleep quality is good, as the air conditioning is good and the location is quiet.
The rooms are a little on the small side although this is perfectly understandable and acceptable given the building the hotel is housed within. Shower water pressure would ideally be a bit higher also. I couldn't find to much at all to complain about here and would recommend the hotel to other travelers.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was very nicely decorated and clean. The hotel was situated in a convenient location, near everything, but also in a private courtyard so notice wasn't an issue.
The locality was very good. A little hard to find to start off with but once we got used to the route it was fine. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was average. Would stay there again.
very near to Rialto Bridge although a little difficult to find initially. Very clean and staff very helpful.
Breakfast only a mundane choice every day.
Right next to the Rialto bridge and excellent service. They need to sort the WiFi out though
