There was never anybody at the reception. Very difficult to find. And if you have to talk to someone, you have to go to another hotel for help. Breakfast, poor.

The fairly central location of this hotel is the only thing that merits staying there. Other than the location, it is far too expensive for what you get in return (I.E. nothing). In other words, it's a total rip off, although I suspect no more so than most hotels in this area in Venice. Where to begin... 1) hard to find and no one was there when I finally did arrive. You ring a buzzer, someone comes and gets you and then walks you over to another place, where you climb 3 flights of stairs to check in. 2) The room is small, the bed not that comfortable, the bath was ok, but the tv was like a 15" computer monitor and no cable or satellite. Not much in the wet bar, which was way too expensive anyway. The ac was a portable thing next to the bed (which had to stay on all night making noise) and you had to leave the window open for the hot air out-take. In other words, you run the ac with the window open, really great for the environment and energy efficiency. The worst thing was the breakfast. Maybe it's just me but for 170 euros a night I was expecting a little more than coffee, toast and cereal. Oh yea, canned peaches. Canned. Whereas they were selling fresh peaches, melons, watermelon and kiwis on every corner in Venice, we got canned peaches and pairs. The official price list published in the room says it all - it ranges from 25 euros to 450 euros ! In other words, the room is worth 25 euros a night, but it goes up to 450 depending on the season and how easily they can poach tourists. A total tourist trip, terrible quality, a run down dump with no comfort or service. A big ol' capital r rip-off like only a place like Venice could get away with. I recommend staying somewhere less central or avoiding the place entirely from May to September. A+

We were fortunate to get a reasonable rate. The room we got was a very spacious and clean one with its own bathroom which was great. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay The entrance hall smelt very musky and unpleasant and there were many stairs to climb to get to our room, but it was worth the climb. When we got up to the reception area on the first floor the musky smell was no longer an issue. You could not get wireless internet in the room you had to sit in the reception area to connect, this was not the end of the world but when skyping family it would have been more pleasant to have been able to connect in the room. The little outside balcony off the reception area always had ashtrays that were full of cigarette buds and being a non smoker I feel this was something small that could have been attended to by the staff.

Bediening was aller vriendelijkst.
