Locanda Cà Del Console, once a consul’s private residence, dates back to the 18th century and is set on a typical canal 330 yards from San Zanipolo.

The breakfast does not represent a wide variety of choices, but it's enough to start the day. Perhaps the fridge is too small to offer cold cuts.
This hotel is really close to Rialto and San Marco, you can get there in a couple of minutes. We had a room with a view of the canals.
Too many stairs n
Handy to town
One night the room was very cold. Another night, because there was a scaffolding outside the house, the exterior shutters could not be closed fully. As it was windy outside they kept on slamming all night long which was a... lovely experience... :-)
Wonderful location, clean rooms, reasonable breakfast, reasonable people, reasonable price.
I asked for a double bed and I got two single beds. No tv and free wifi
The breakfast was very good, it was very good waking up with warm croissant smell! The staff is friendly and the location is very close to Rialto bridge and Rialto boat station.
Tiny room, no air-condition (just eater), too noisy (walls seam/are made of paper).
Breakfast, central position, friendly staff
Rooms does not have a view..
It is located in a central location from where all major attractions can be seen easily..
Hotel on 4th floor without lift The cheapest room is very small, mini window and private bathroom on the corridor No tv, no wifi,no computer
Very good location, calm and quiet but in the heart of busy venice Breakfast is free and good(toast, croissant, juice and coffee) Room and bathroom clean
Location and friendly people
They gave ıs worst rooms of the hotel. Odour was terrible...
The person at the reception was more than helpful. We had lost luggage at the airport and he did everything to help us with our problem. The breakfast was also great.
Only not do good thing was the checkin as it was written that it can ve possible to checkin at 11:30 but they had us waiting until 14:00
Breakfast was good and location excellent
the wifi u have to pay extra after one hour, the bed is not good its a twin bed put together and the bathroom is not nice at all.
the old man who serve our breakfast is polite and helpful
the bed wasn't that comfortable.
kind staff, clean, quiet, good enough breakfast, good location.
When we arrived and were brought to our room, the electricity was not working. The manager at the time asked us to wait a few moments, which we did patiently, but after several comings and goings it was clear it wasn't going to work. He wanted us to wait until a technician arrived even though he had another room available for us, which was quite irritating. His issue with switching to another room was that the other room's external bathroom was private while the one we had booked was shared. Finally after I complained and said that half an hour was long enough and we weren't willing to wait for a technician to come and go, he agreed to let us have the other room. It was an unpleasant way to start our time in Venice. The next day I noticed the electricity still wasn't working so it seems the wait would have been a long one. While our original room had a canal view, the new one looked out onto a roof with construction (though we never heard any construction during our stay). Every morning, starting around 5 am, we were awakened by the sound of seagulls squawking vociferously so that we could no longer sleep. Another impediment to a good night's sleep was the way our "double" bed came apart and sloped down in the middle. Obviously their system that holds two twin beds together doesn't work very well. Finally, the WiFi is an exorbitant price (2 € for one hour) and has a complicated login process that must be repeated each time. Because of the cost we found ourselves constantly seeking restaurants with free WiFi, a real pain. In a month-long trip to Italy every other hotel had WiFi included. If it were 1€ per day or something reasonable it would have been acceptable but in these times of ubiquitous WiFi, the costs charged at Hotel Canada come across as gouging the customer. In spite of all this we still feel this is an ok place to stay in Venice due to its location and cost . Just know what you are getting into and what to expect.
Being right between Ponte Rialto and San Marco was excellent and the breakfast was quite good, better than anticipated, and served promptly. The room was clean though very sparse (it feels like a 1960s university residence). It's also a plus that the reception desk has someone between 7 am and 2 am. and most of the staff was quite pleasant.
Even with Venice's known high prices, Hotel Canada is not worth what it charges. The room was small and dreary. The only decoration in it was a poster for a play from 1984 which had grown a visible amount of mould. Our 'double bed' was actually just two single beds pushed together. I kept nearly falling down the crack (which is a sentence you never want to say, under any circumstance). We were aware that our private bathroom was not connected to the room before we booked, but it was still weird wandering down the hallway in a towel holding a toothbrush. The same goes for the paid wifi. It's 2014. It really should be free. The breakfast was hardly worth what we paid for it, which was nothing. The whole time, I felt like I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers, just without Manuel. The staff were nice, though.
The staff were helpful. The location was good. The bathroom was clean.
No elevator for the luggage, narrow and steep staircase.
The location is excellent, the view to the Canal from my window was very good, the room was clean and the staff polite. Easy reach to San Marco square, following the street signs on foot.
Our room was just next to the breakfast room, which meant that at 7.30 am we have been woken up from the noise of loud children and noise of dishes and cups being piled up and we couldn't sleep anymore (the night before was fashion night, so we really wanted to sleep in the morning!)
aircon not working, wifi is only accessible outside the room
The hotel occupies the second story of the building. Not a problem for us as we had only backpacks but could be an issue for those with luggage.
Tucked in a small plaza, ten minute walk from St. Mark's Square, five minutes to Rialto bridge. Rooms were simple b but clean. Breakfast was typical Italian with no embellishments but rolls served warm and coffee was perfect. Staff was very helpful, pleasant. We arrived at ten AM hoping to leave our luggage but they checked us in without a question. View of a camel from our room was memorable.
The beads are none your doctor would recommend for a relaxing night - far too soft and worn out, the internet had some hickups.
Nice and charming little hotel with really helpful staff and good breakfast
The extra charge for the internet. The rooms on the booking said it was a room with a view but it wasn't and it was much smaller. We couldn't open the closet as the 3rd bed was squeezed in. However the beds are comfortable
The location is perfect, breakfast was okay, staff were nice and the room was clean.
Bed mattresses shocking to sleep on, bathrooms mouldy.
Clean with great central location! Breakfast was a little sparse (no meat or fruit and only a piece if small packaged cheese) but okay for being included in the price. Great AC!! Lots of stairs for those with kids or health issues. Overall a good value.
-grumpy staff since we arrived late-our fault as well -difficult to find due to language barrier-Venice is like a maze
