Hotel Canal & WalterS.Croce 553-240, Santa Croce, 30135 Venice (Show map) Good, Score from 437 reviews“The yogurt at breakfast. Apart from this, the location.”
Alicia,
Maputo
Located right on the Grand Canal, Hotel Canal and Walter is a 2 minute walk from Venice train station, making it easy to find and great for traveling around the city. Pretty Canal and Walter is housed in an old building and interiors are decorated with 18th-century Venetian furnishings and Murano glass. This romantic atmosphere is added to by the hotel’s beautiful flower garden, a rare luxury in Venice. Perfect for visiting all of Venice’s landmarks, water buses which travel to the islands as well as across town are just a 2 minute walk away and much of Venice can be explored by foot. Providing quality service and facilities at competitive rates, this friendly hotel has a TV room and a bar that is open all day. As a guest you will enjoy discounts at local restaurants. The Canal and Walter can also offer discounts on garages nearby. Hotel Rooms: 33

The location is very convenient, and with a room facing the Canal it is brilliant. Front desk staff very helpful, and storage of luggage on last day was much appreciated. The continental breakfast could be improved.

It is good for the first time Venice visitor because of its proximity to the train station. You just go up over the white bridge and to your right. Walk so you are just parallel to the train station across the Grand Canal and you have arrived. The air conditioning doesn't work well especially in the August heat. The room was overpriced for the quality of it

Super location. The room we had was fairly basic but functional and just what we needed for a brief -stopover in Venice. It was in a good location, close to the Grand Canal and on the island of Venice itsself but still within walking distance of St Lucia station. The hotel was happy to look after our bags after we had checked out of our room so that we could continue our tour of the city before catching out train later in the day. The room was a bit dark with heavy curtains covering the lack of any view! I felt the floor needed a good clean.

The location is excellent! Especially for those who comes to Venice in transit and intending to fly from Marco polo or Treviso next morning: you can have breakfast leisurely and busses to airports are just 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is situated in the very old building, so the smell in it is not very pleasant. As I understood there were no radiator in the room. The heating is performed only by conditioner-like device which is hanging under the ceiling. And this device is too noisy when working. But nevertheless noise is better than cold :)

On arriving the exterior and reception don't look too good, but the rooms are amazing for the price. True venetian style, sumptuous decorations, silk on the Walls, beautiful. The bathrooms could maybe do with updating but they were very clean and functional. Breakfast was more than adequate, with breads, pastries cereals, ham, fruit, yoghurt, juices, tea & coffee. The location is perfect 2 minutes from the bus station. We explored the whole of Venice on foot, there's no need for water buses if you don't want to use them.

The rooms seemed very "venitian" in decor. Breakfast was good. Great location across from the train station. Between the road and the rooms lot of stairs!

Location, employees, and food. All great. From the train station you take a left and take the first bridge you see, then you take a right and walk down about a min or so and you're at the hotel. We got a canal view and it was lovely. Staff speak good english. If you go to venice, be prepared to walk. That was half the adventure.

Location near train station, very convenient. Room is clean and staff are friendly. There is no lift and it is tedious to transport luggage up to the 3rd floor. Bed is not comfortable. Furniture is old and there is no tea making facility in the room/ on the floor.

Cheap and good location with breakfast in morning. If you carried big baggages, this hotel is not good for you. You have to across the bridge with many steps, and the hotel didn't have the elevator.
