Hotel Canal & Walter  

Super location. The room we had was fairly basic but functional and just what we needed for a brief -stopover in Venice. It was in a good location, close to the Grand Canal and on the island of Venice itsself but still within walking distance of St Lucia station. The hotel was happy to look after our bags after we had checked out of our room so that we could continue our tour of the city before catching out train later in the day.

The room was a bit dark with heavy curtains covering the lack of any view! I felt the floor needed a good clean.

Only the location is good just in front of train station or piazzale roma (car parking).

ONly the location was satisfactory. The room was terrible for the price. The view to the Canal isnt good. For 3 star hotel it got a very bad condition at the room...old and unclean furniture inside, very old and bad condition of the wall paper inside the room. I didn t recommend to anyone because you surely found better for the same price... I recommend boocking to delete this hotel from the website

Small room, very narrow bed. Only one blanket ("there should be an extra blanket in closet", said the guy in reception. Could not find it.)

The staff was very obliging with our requests. Location is great and the place, although old, was well kept. Would definitely stay there again!!

Had canal front room which was a bit noisy during the night with people going by.

It created an ambience that is different from what you see outside and a bit lower in price considering that Venice is really pricey.

There is no free wifi. Going there is very tiresome with lots of baggage in tow so pack light. It can be seen from the train station but going there is a different story. Use the bridge on your left, it is easier.

On arriving the exterior and reception don't look too good, but the rooms are amazing for the price. True venetian style, sumptuous decorations, silk on the Walls, beautiful. The bathrooms could maybe do with updating but they were very clean and functional. Breakfast was more than adequate, with breads, pastries cereals, ham, fruit, yoghurt, juices, tea & coffee. The location is perfect 2 minutes from the bus station. We explored the whole of Venice on foot, there's no need for water buses if you don't want to use them.

The rooms seemed very "venitian" in decor. Breakfast was good. Great location across from the train station. Between the road and the rooms lot of stairs!

Location near train station, very convenient. Room is clean and staff are friendly.

There is no lift and it is tedious to transport luggage up to the 3rd floor. Bed is not comfortable. Furniture is old and there is no tea making facility in the room/ on the floor.

Great price, great location... Just opposite to santa lucia train terminus...just take right turn on exit, cross the bridge to go on othercside and you reach the hotel,,, just opp to ferrovia water bus station from where you can reach murano, lido beach etc.. many restaurants nearbyand busy area till night. So felt safe.. room was good and bathroom was very clean must stay here for good value for money

Location and Breakfast :)

The staff were very feindly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, The breakfast was good. The room was spotless. The location is very good, a short walk to a water bus.

There was no double bed, just two singles pushed together.
