Accommodating staff, big rooms with lots of space.
wifi is only available in communal areas
If you're looking low price and good location this place has it despite the negatives.
Moldy rooms and smell. unfomfortable beds. wifi outside of rooms only.
Nice and meae san marco square
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Caneva. The hotel was a bit tricky to find but it was clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful. The location was close to the Piazza San Marco. The breakfast was very good.
The only good point was the cost of the stay. The breakfast for 5 EU was worth it if you were hungry in the monring.
The host at the front desk was not pleasant or helpful and all. There were only 2 small areas set up for WiFi and they were set up in the middle of the building with 3 chairs and NO air or circulation. So it was very hot. The beds were just cots and not real beds. I was very disappointed.
A luxury feel in curtains and bedspread lifted this budget hotel. It was relatively quiet considering the close proximity to the train station. Wifi. A nice breakfast.
The guest computer didn't work. Soap for hands and shower was a few individual sachets of shampoo/bodywash. When we asked for soap, we were just given two more.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Easy to find Great location Overlooked a quiet courtyard Clean
Not many plug sockets
The room was not bad, the location was good.
The staff was horrible, rude and never helpful. Can not speak and understand English. There is no A/C and it was wickly hot there. If you do not have any other option than you can think about it.
Location between Rialto Bridge & St Marks.
Noisy canal traffic outside the window. Hard to find in the maze of alleyways.
Handy to all attractions.
It is very average. It's not a horrible stay but you may want to shop around a bit.
The noise outside was terrible. Not the hotels fault but FYI.
Room had its own bathroom ( which we requested).good clean sheets. Good breakfast for 5 euro nothing fancy but worth the money on comparison to having to go out and find breakfast. Good aircon as it was well over 30 degrees, great view of the canal view of two bridges. For the money it is worth it for the area, be aware thought that a lot of rooms share bathroom facilities in the hallway. Good wifi in the areas assigned but it even worked well in our room.
The awful, grumpy reception male when we checked in, we had read about him so tried to be extra friendly but to no avail, such a bad first impression get rid of him !! .Otherwise all other staff very nice. Hotel is VERY tired and in desperate need of some work, shower door was broken in our room. and over all grubby appearance, a coat of paint could really brighten it up.
Close to the Rialto bridge and water busses, backs onto a canal, helpful staff, clean but old, budget friendly for Venice.
Free WiFi signal weak
Location: near Water Bus(Rialto) ,just take#2 to Rialto.DONT take #N,it will spend a lot of time. Hostel near store :Disney ,Benetton .
Great cheap hotel in an excellent location
We paid a really good Price for a double room. It was just one night but we had everything we needed in a faitly clean atmosphere. It's not spotless and new, but works for what it is.
Breakfast is a little pricy for what it is. Bath flooded.
The location is amazing. It's halfway between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. We had the most picturesque view of a canal out our window.
Lots of noise from the boat traffic on the canal.
very friendly staff, very good location, clean room
This place was soooo Venice! We had a room with two twin beds for my son and I and it was one that had a balcony looking over a tee in two canals with Gondolas galore passing by, bridges and architecturally awesome buildings. The photos we took out the balcony were picture postcards! It is tucked away but nearby the Rialto bridge and San Marco Plaza and would have been hard to find if I hadn't Google mapped it but all of Venice is sort of that way. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was shared bathrooms but never had to wait for a (hot) shower or to use the toilet. There was a sink in the room for brushing teeth, etc.
It was very noisy in the early morning with delivery boats as others have noted (so cool!-deliveries are made with boats not trucks) but if you wear earplugs and/or close the glass door and shutters once you hear the noise (or before you go to sleep-although it is nicer if you leave them open all night)-then it is not bad at all.
Overall an aweful experience. Extemely unfriendly staff, wifi only available in an obscure corner of the hotel (at least, when it's working at all), towels feel like sandpaper, dirty room and bathroom, no city maps available (and you are not allowed to ask for one:D)
location!!! also the price could be considered quite fair in Venice. A room with a view of gondolas, such a lovely experience!
We had a really pleasant 4-day stay. Clean and big room. Staff really nice and helpfull. Very well-located hotel, 5 minutes by foot from S. Marco's place and close to every shops and restaurants, as well as transportation (vaporetto). Considering the price, we definitly recommand!
!!Bedbugs!! CIMICI DEI LETTI We stayed 2 nights in this hotel, and while the accommodations are not bad, and we had a great view of the canals from a small balcony in our room, THEY HAVE BEDBUGS. Reaction to bedbugs is different for different people, and doesn't always show up immediately. I have a pretty strong reaction to insect bites. After the first night, I started to have a reaction in a few places on my arms and legs. By the second morning I had a reaction all over my body. I had bites from head to toe, on my arms, legs, feet, neck, back, ...everywhere. I looked at the mattress, and there was evidence of bedbugs feces in all the corners and edges. There was even a dead bug in the bed. When we talked to the person at the front desk, he was immediately defensive and rude, blaming us for bringing the bedbugs into the hotel in our suitcases. If it was a small number of bites, maybe, but I was COVERED with bites! Either way, they have bedbugs.
Good location. Nice staff
The hairdryer was broken and the hotel doesnt provide any other portable ones. NO BLANKETS, only bed linen was provided.
