Good value for a budget hotel
The staff was very professional and helpful, excellent location.
Helpful staff, good sized rooms, great location
The bed bugs I found the morning I left at 5am
24h reception. Great big bed, clean beautiful room and the outside breakfast
No fruits or fresh vegetables at breakfest
The location is excellent - in the trendy Monti area where there isnt a daily influx of tourists. The area is still very accessible and well connected to the main sites.
On the last day of our trip we discovered horrible bed bug bites on my boyfriends shoulder, back and right hand (totalling over 30 bites). He had a bad reaction (the bites quicklly became inflamed and started to puss). Upon leaving the hotel we went to a pharmacist and they immediately confirmed that it was bed bugs. I didn't get out unscathed myself but my reaction wasn't nearly as bad as his. We had 2 more days in Rome where we checked into Hotel Morgana (excellent experience and incredibly clean hotel) and spent the next 10 days in Italy with no new bites. We were very concerend about taking them with us in our suitcase but since no new bites appeared for the entire duration of the trip (we stayed in Hotel Morgana in Rome and 3 other hotels, 2 on the Amalfi Coast and 1 in Florence) we realized we thankfully left this henious experience at Hotel Canova and didnt bring it with us. Travellers, please PLEASE do not stay at this hotel. What upsets me most is when we arrived home to Canada and brought this to the hotel's attention, the response was that they havent found anything in their hotel. If you simply google "Hotel Canova bed bugs", you will find multiple comments (most recent a few days ago but some dating back to October 2011) that bring forward this issue. The "management" response to these complaints is that they checked and havent found anything. Clearly this hotel has no regard for its guests and WILL NOT address the issue. These bites are nasty and take over 10 days to clear up - you do not want this ruining your trip in Italy where there are fantastic hotels so PLEASE do not book with them!
Very helpful & friendly staff. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Good, abundant choices for breakfast.

Location. Monti is my favorite part of Rome. Liked the roof terrace. Good restaurants down Via Urbana.
Furniture a little shoddy, but servicable
the street was very run down very noisy
The staff was excellent. The location was as good as it gets, 10min walk from the Coliseum.
There was no internet in the room, only in the lobby which was a little inconvenient.
Friendly and helpful staff. It was also convenient.
The beds are very uncomfortable. They were sorry, narrow and very hard.
The room was cleaned in every day and the hotel is very close to the center.
The internet connection don't working in the room, only at the reception. The breakfast was horrilble.
Very friendly staff. Close to all major tourist attractions. Hardly any need to get transport could walk to all major tourist attractions within 10-15mins.
No internet in the room, available only in lobby area and even then couldn't connect on one day due to slow internet speeds.
Bathroom is renovated. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was variable and the location was also very nice,at the roof of the hotel
No internet access from hotel room only at the reception area. Hotel room could also need renovation.
Stuffs are very friendly. Breakfast is not so much but enough.
not so easy to find the hotel.Should have a sign in the big street.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.Location is perfect.Walking distance to many places.Nearby you can find nice and tasty restaurants.
The breakfast was poor.
A great location for walking to the sights in Rome! Very nice staff. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable
Close to all the sights.
Following two unfortunate incidents - my friend having her purse stolen and then my tripping and spraining my ankle - the staff could not have done any more to assist. The hotel also had a roof top terrace which was very pleasant to sit in and was a real bonus when I could not walk far for a day or two.
1. very noisy. in a nearby house under construction. 2. Internet only works at the reception.
I like staff in the hotel. The room was always clean and location of the hotel was extremely convenient
Breakfast was not fresh
