Room Breakfast Wifi Noise
the location, the value, and the staff
wifi would have been great in the rooms
Minibar was surprisingly affordable. Cheaper than vending machine
There was no heater in the room and the heat mode of AC was not working. it was really cold
Personnel Accueil Situation Propreté Breakfast room on top floor
Wifi uniquement dans lobby Isolation acoustique insuffisante Bruit des chambres voisines( toilettes, douches etc..)
Staff was really nice and helpfull
We could pay only cash and wifi is working only in the lobby
The location was good. A pleasant enough hotel with the staff being quite friendly. Lots of restaurants nearby reasonably priced with easy access to the Metro, the termini, City Tour buses and of course the Colosseum.
As a tall person I found the shower head too low in my room while in our companions' room the head height was fine. The room wasn't as spacious as I would have liked. The lift was very small and two heavily built people would have had difficulty getting in and out of the lift. On the 5th floor the top stair step was difficult to see. Boiling water was never used for the tea or coffee. I had a lot of difficulty finding WiFi in the foyer.
Value for money and they took trouble to book both transfers for us making our stay stressfree.
Breakfast not great, hot water not hot enough for tea, i liked it but my friends found not enough selection. Tea facilities in room would have been great.
Location, breakfast area
Lack of fresh milk at breakfast, Internet facility in room with my own connection did not work, a soap holder would be handy,
Roof top terrace Quiet location Laundry mat just around the corner
Bed and pillows were uncomfortable
Good value for a budget hotel
The staff was very professional and helpful, excellent location.
Helpful staff, good sized rooms, great location
The bed bugs I found the morning I left at 5am
24h reception. Great big bed, clean beautiful room and the outside breakfast
No fruits or fresh vegetables at breakfest
The location is excellent - in the trendy Monti area where there isnt a daily influx of tourists. The area is still very accessible and well connected to the main sites.
On the last day of our trip we discovered horrible bed bug bites on my boyfriends shoulder, back and right hand (totalling over 30 bites). He had a bad reaction (the bites quicklly became inflamed and started to puss). Upon leaving the hotel we went to a pharmacist and they immediately confirmed that it was bed bugs. I didn't get out unscathed myself but my reaction wasn't nearly as bad as his. We had 2 more days in Rome where we checked into Hotel Morgana (excellent experience and incredibly clean hotel) and spent the next 10 days in Italy with no new bites. We were very concerend about taking them with us in our suitcase but since no new bites appeared for the entire duration of the trip (we stayed in Hotel Morgana in Rome and 3 other hotels, 2 on the Amalfi Coast and 1 in Florence) we realized we thankfully left this henious experience at Hotel Canova and didnt bring it with us. Travellers, please PLEASE do not stay at this hotel. What upsets me most is when we arrived home to Canada and brought this to the hotel's attention, the response was that they havent found anything in their hotel. If you simply google "Hotel Canova bed bugs", you will find multiple comments (most recent a few days ago but some dating back to October 2011) that bring forward this issue. The "management" response to these complaints is that they checked and havent found anything. Clearly this hotel has no regard for its guests and WILL NOT address the issue. These bites are nasty and take over 10 days to clear up - you do not want this ruining your trip in Italy where there are fantastic hotels so PLEASE do not book with them!
Very helpful & friendly staff. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Good, abundant choices for breakfast.

Location. Monti is my favorite part of Rome. Liked the roof terrace. Good restaurants down Via Urbana.
Furniture a little shoddy, but servicable
the street was very run down very noisy
The staff was excellent. The location was as good as it gets, 10min walk from the Coliseum.
There was no internet in the room, only in the lobby which was a little inconvenient.
Friendly and helpful staff. It was also convenient.
The beds are very uncomfortable. They were sorry, narrow and very hard.
The room was cleaned in every day and the hotel is very close to the center.
The internet connection don't working in the room, only at the reception. The breakfast was horrilble.
