Just 650 ft from Re di Roma Metro, this modern hotel is in Rome’s San Giovanni area. It has an elegant lounge, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioned rooms with satellite LCD TVs.
Score from 734 reviews Excellent
Enjoy affordable accommodations in Rome’s pretty Garbatella area. Hotel Derby is near good public transportation services into the historic center of Rome and vicinity, and to the city’s EUR business...
Score from 512 reviews Very good

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our floor had a vending machine and we liked the restaurant.
Not sure this was the best location if you are in Rome as a tourist. It was a healthy walk to the Coliseum. The location felt more like a business district.
I like the place where is and comfort.
Breakfast is very very poor.Nothing hot on the order, just many kinds of breads and many kinds jam.Nothing hot like sausages, eggs, etc. Staff on reception is not kind.
Went with family - first time in Rome. First impression of the hotel was very good.....reception area elegant and clean. Rooms were spacious, clean and well laid out. Bathroom and toilet were good. Staff were helpful.
Comfortable bed Massive balcony Great view Great staff Tasty food
Air-con was resetting itself during the night Far to walk from city centre
The hotel room was 5 stars. No complaints at all. Bed was big and comfy. Bathroom was modern and clean with an awesome shower. Room was spacious and had air conditioning.
Location is not ideal for being close to the attractions. There is also barely any choices for fast food or restaurants in the walkable area. There is a restaurant in the hotel but it is very expensive for a budget traveller (over 20 euro a plate). We stayed at a lot of hotels during our trip to Europe and experienced some great service. Unfortunately the staff at the front desk at this hotel were very unfriendly and unapproachable. One man rolled his eyes at me when I inquired about something. 1 star service.
room design breakfast room very clean and new
breakfast bread and pastries not very tasty
Room was roomy and nice, Comfy bed, airconditioning worked great, staff was amazing, very close to transport hubs and easy to figure out the bus network (great connection to Rome city centre) breakfast was very good, computers on the ground floor and a printer for printing boarding passes, all in all a great hotel, will come back for my next visit to Rome
Maybe a fridge in the room or an ice machine in the hallway would be nice. + We knew it wasn't in the centrum, and this is also a good thing because it's more quiet. So the only annoying thing is something the hotel itself has no control over : the public transport, watch out esecially on sundays after 20.00 u, the busses will be late or won't come at all.
Very quiet and clean hotel
The hotel was excellent. We stayed at this hotel 3 nights and we didn't regret it.The room was perfect, comfortable and clean. The breakfast is also good.
There is no wifi.If you like wifi in your room you would have to pay.But it wouldn't be worth it because the internet access was is poor. Also you don't have a fridge which is not a big deal, but sometimes you like to put some stuff there, for example water.
Clean and spacious room, nice choices for breakfast.
It is a modern and well kept hotel. The rooms are new and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice breakfast.
We chose this hotel because it was close to a motorcycle agency. Otherwise it is not close to any Rome attractions.
Hotel was excellent! I loved stile, the it was clean!
staff was a little bit not communicative! and rood
Renovated, with excellent mattresses , bed, bathroom etc facilities.
Poor and same for 5 Days Breakfast.Small lobby for families. The Hotel location is 1km from Metro but you can take a bus near the Hotel to Metro Station.
Very nice hotel ,modern design,clean.
breakfast is delicious, bed is confortable, metro is near the hotel. Perfect!!!
I stayed at hotel caravel for 4 nights with my mother, we both found the hotel of a high standard with friendly & helpful staff. Cleanliness was very good & breakfast was also of a high standard too. Would choose hotel caravel again in the future.
Loved the close proximity to Rome's center and the easy access to transit. Staff were very cordial and helpful. Breakfast was great!
Shower was funky...sprayed all over the bathroom. Wifi was fazool too...wasn't very strong and had to be reloaded every time we re-entered the building.
Far from everything.
Air is so bad. No freezer.
The hotel was very contemporary with plenty of updates. As it was quite warm outside we were very grateful for the air conditioning in the rooms. The breakfast was rather good - cereal, pastries and bread as usual but also some hard boiled eggs to mix it up. Near publice transportation - bus stop within 5 minute walk, metro was about 10 minute walk.
If you are wanting to see mainly the historical sites (Colosseum, Vatican, Roman Forum, etc) it is a little far out. It takes about 20 minutes by bus to get to the hotel. At the time of booking options were limited and this was the best value but a little knowledge just for you.
Very clean, comfortable room. Nice staff. Good breakfast.
We have always problem how to come back from the centre of Rome.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. If I visit to Rome again I will choose Caravel.
This hotel is a fair distance away from the main attractions in Rome. It's close to the bus stop. When getting off the bus look up at the buildings - the Hotels name is in big red letters). Inside, the hotel looks nice. Beds were comfortable.
We had to ask several people which bus stop we had to be at as there are multiple bus stops nearby. Make sure you check the boards at the bus stop to see which bus goes where. Although busses run frequently (every 15 to 30 minutes or so), if you miss the bus, you will have to wait a while.
A little bit faraway from metro station but very close to bus station. Room was nice and clean. Breakfasts were rich and the waitresses were kind
Lights on balconies are never be closed so it is a little bit difficult to sleep. There is a big cell phone transmitter on the roof of hotel if you care, it is up to you.
The hotel is beautiful. We took the bus into the City, sometimes the metro. Not a big deal. There is a restaurant right next to the hotel+ shops etc close by. We were very happy with everything.
