The room was well appointed and very clean and had a large balcony overlooking the water. Large swimming pool. Free parking. Easy walk into the old town. Easy driving to beautiful beaches like Stintina and Bombarde. wifi only works in public areas of the hotel and we were given a 24 hour code which we had to keep replacing - on the last day they gave us a weekly code. Service in the breakfast room was cold and at times rude.

Comfortable large room good sea views. Staff friendly. Good breakfast. Alghero is a good location with great eating places. Pool could have been cleaner, ordered a kettle/tea/coffee/milk @ extra reasonable cost, however they did not top up the tes/coffee/milk unless we asked etc.

Superb location with magnificent view of the coast line. Real 5* amenities, excellent breakfasts. Rooms are adequately sized. I shared the room with my brother and we were very comfortable. 10 minute walk from the charming old town. Their dinner menu has very few selections and the quality of meat is not the best (this is true all over Sardinia).

Spacious, clean and modern. Having to pay extra for wifi in 2013 seems cheap, same did the offer to hire special pillow for 3eur pr. night, and the note in the information folder saying that it was chipmarked and removing it from the room would charge the room 150eur (who steals the info folder anyway?)

The quietness and the beauty of the view. We were upgraded from a garden view to a sea side-view. It's was a little expensive.

the staff were very friendly and obliging in general I was very comfortable at this hotel but as a 5 star hotel I didnt rate it as that, more a very good 3 star reason being wired internet & having to pay for it, I have stayed at many 5 star hotels were internet is included, I thought that part was very out of date,in general a very good hotel

Hotel Carlos has a spectacular view out over the sea and along the coastline of the north west of Sardinia. Sunset drinks at the outdoor bar by the pool are a real highlight here. It's a short walk into Alghero, along the sea front, and conveniently located for a drive further south to some of the most beautiful beaches on the Island. Our room was huge with a great view over the garden and the mountains behind Alghero, with two balconies, one with a sea view. These were lovely places to sit and read for a while if you wanted a break from the pool area. The fixtures and fittings throughout were high quality Italian marble, stone and wood - what you would expect from a 5 star hotel but don't always get! Breakfast was also a highlight. This place looks to be packed all throughout summer but we were here at the end of September and got a great deal. Worth every penny.

The hotel was excellent. Very comfortable and the facilities were great. The thing that made our stay complete was the people who looked after us. The staff were so easy going, there to help and give excellent service, yet at the same time in the background. The perfect balance of looking after the guests without being too overt with their presence. Highly recommended for an indulgent treat - you will not be disappointed with the hotel or the old town of Alghero.

We had an excellent room with a great view of the pool and sea , the facilitys are exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel and for once the pictures on a website were matched by the actual hotel

Affinity to city centre and sea-front of Algero, the good breakfasts, convenient mattresses-pillows, good bed-clothes The room is small and too the small inconveniently designed premise of a bathroom (on a toilet bowl it is possible to be located only with side, even to the small person), The shower having given vent only from a ceiling, old-fashioned design (for example, a carpet covering). The swimpool "with sea water" is chlorinated certainly. There is no own beach.

We arrived at 11 a.m and our room was ready. Very friendly reception, fantastic room above a lush garden. Beautiful colour setting en big sliding door to the balcony. Fabulous swimming pool set amongst palmtrees, real grass and flowers. Nice bar/cafe with stunning view on the coastline. Only a 10 minutes walk to the old town and beaches. Busstop in front of the hotel.

Nice hotel rooms. Nice to walk along the sea into the city of Alghero. Good breakfest. The only thing lacking was the atmosphere of the hotel. The reason too that is the size of the hotel that gives it a quite unpersonell feeling.

Breakfast was great although waiters/waitresses took too long to clear tables. Room nice and fair size. Nice location. Nice swimming pool and not at all cold. Pool towels provided every day. Hotel booklet didn't have any information inside so we didn't know the water in the mini bar was free and no instructrions on how to operate the air conditioning. Bathroom was very small although luxurious. Sky English channels were unwatchable as either in German or screen too fuzzy and reception too bad.

In general the hotel was very nice, it was a really nice location about a 5-10 min walk from the town, the hotel staff were for the most part friendly, the pool and grounds were very well kept. A few minor things happened that were not great: 1. I was corrected for bringing a whole bottle of water to my table at the buffet breakfast though I knew between two of us we would at least drink a bottle, so we went up 3 or 4 times to fill up instead; 2. the room was not cleaned one day though we were out of it all day, which bothered me most because it would have been good to get clean/dry towels and 3. the reception staff were not able to multi-task - I had a very quick question re my room key that had to wait until a group transaction was completed which included a lot of waiting for credit card machines etc. The receptions was a little curt in telling me to wait, but maybe was lost in translation.
