Hotel Carlton Capri  

The breakfast was wonderful - both hot and cold selection - and really filled you up for at least half a day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Apparently these two things are hard to find in Italy! Also the hotel is just a short walk to the canal and then just across the bridge to the train station and the vaporetto (waterbus) stop (Ferrovia). Also, the hotel is situated in a quiet area within a 10 minute walk in many directions of very fine, reasonably priced restaurants frequented by locals (but not on canal necessarily).

The double bed was a bit short (my husband and I are both tall). People should be aware that the immediate vicinity of the hotel is pretty drab and boring (but quiet). The hotel from the outside also looks pretty drab. Also, this hotel is not in the main tourist area near San Marco or Rialto. You have to take the vaporetto (15 mins) or walk (30 mins). But this has its advantages in terms of good restaurants around.

The hotel was conveniently located near the train station. Although it is in a back alley, the hotel is very nice and they provided us with a small balcony off our room. There was internet service and the rooms were relatively large and comfortable if not luxurious. The breakfast was delicious.

I would have appreciated a coffee machine in the lobby, since there are no cafes next to the hotel.

1. Convenient, Clean, and the Cost. Breakfast.

1. Front desk staff ineffective. Indifferent. Not welcoming. Understaffed as there was only 1 person there most of the time to handle guests requests and inquiries. 2. Air conditioning ineffective . Requested to make it cooler or to provide a fan; was told 'this is not possible' until I phoned front desk that I need to contact the central booking office. Newspapers: We were told that if we want an english newspaper we should go out an purchase one - very rude. Considering there were a lot of english speaking tourists at the hotel. All hotels supply a variety of newspapers as a courtesy to the guests.

Staff are helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located behind the lane and it took me almost an hour to look for it. There is no signage around to show the hotel and it is certainly very difficult for tourist who are new to that area to look for it.

near grand canal and scalzi

too hot in the room and a/a doesnt woks. very dangeurus because if you open the windows there are a lot of mosquito to bit you.....

Avevo prenotato la stanza grande e mi ritrovo in una stanza super piccola e caldissima. Per fortuna il giorno dopo l hanno cambiata.

La tranquilidad de la zona. la habitacion superior 211 con terracita. desayuno aceptable

Es caro en general, pero como la mayoria de hoteles en Venecia

Buona posizione dell'hotel, comodo per chi usa il treno come mezzo di trasporto, comodo per la sua vicinanza al centro di Venezia

Il condizionatore della camera credo era fuori uso, nonostante era spento il termostato la temperatura della camera era sempre sui 25 gradi, troppo caldo...

Posizione fantastica per visitare la città, personale cortese e disponibile a fornire tutte le informazioni necessarie sui luoghi di maggiore interesse turistico. Davvero gradito lo sconto del 20% sul garage San Marco.

O café da manhã é excelente. O quarto é bem amplo.

A única crítica é que no segundo dia colocaram apenas 1 toalha ao invés de 2.
