Hotel Carlton On The Grand Canal  

Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Mooie kamer, goed schoongehouden en lekker ruim. Goede douche, erg schoon! We waren er super blij mee en ik ben zeer kritisch!!!

Ontbijt viel erg tegen, geen variatie en geen mogelijkheid om iets anders te verzoeken zonder extra kosten (zoals bijvoorbeel een gekookt ei). De afstand naar San Marco Plein is wel een beetje ver... De boot gaat niet ver van het hotel, maar duurt (met al in en uitloop) stiekum toch wel een half uurtje!

Prima ligging en toch heel rustig.

We were very pleased with every aspect of this hotel except that it has the smallest shower of any hotel that I have every stayed in. That surprised me as it is quite luxurious otherwise. We chose this hotel as we had an early train to catch so we paid a bit more than we usually would.as it is opposite the S. Lucia train station. It was quite in the hotel which is on the Grand Canal.

Very well located near S.Lucia station and public transport (city, Murano....) with nice hotel staff. Hotel was very clean.

Location of the hotel is excellent. Right in front of the grand canal, and the train station is just few steps away. It is also near a major shopping street which will take you all the way to San mark's square, but it it will take 15 to 25 min to reach there depending on how fast you walk. Rooms at the hotel are pretty clean, and they are decorated in classic Venetian style. Breakfast was just ok, food did not look fresh, especially the bread. I would recommend this hotel non the less just because of its location and freindliness of the staff, they were really helpful when it mattered.

The housekeeper forgot to put new soap one day and when we called them to get some soap bars, no one showed up. I had to sneak into the housekeeping room and get some myself. Also, the hotel restaurant is very overpriced and no variety.

Location,nice Breakfast !

My room a litle bit small.;

Hotel is located very close to Vapretto, which make it very easy to travel around Venice. Rooms are small but this is normal for that city. Breakfast is OK but this is nothing extraordinary.

There is a big problem with stuff at the front desk. It looks like they are punished to be there. When you are a guest they will answer your questions and give you some pointers about Venice, but when you are just passing by and want to ask a question about anything - do not bother. We noticed two such a examples and staff was rude and not helpful. We ask someone from front desk to recommend us restaurant and it was the worst place in Venice that we ate - so be careful. Breakfast is not very american :(

Very helpful staff. Reasonable breakfast though not the best I've had.

The room was extremely hot even though it was wet and not very hot outside. No air conditioning and no fan available to cool the room. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been very welcome. The prices in the restaurant were very high. The food was very good but very overpriced for what we had.

Relatively accessible compared to much of Venice.

Paid extra for a view of the Grand Canal, but this section of the Canal not especially pretty.
