A lovely hotel, clean, comfortable, locality perfect for a good wander around Historic Florence. Excellent breakfast. Loved it!
nice experience in this lovely hotel. The decoration of the rooms and the lobby is very original
the bathroom was a little outdated (but has a bath)
The staff was excellent, thanks to them for their kindness and helpfulness. Location was fair.
The room was useless and not so clean. I did not like the decoration (it is my opinion). The breakfast was not so good nor so bad.
Very comfortable bed, without any noise, hot water in bathroom and nice breakfast. The receptionist of this hotel is very kind, especially Adriana. She is very nice. Thanks Adriana!
* IMPORTANT : The hotel's name is ROOM MATE LUCA. When I booked this hotel in booking.com, it says the hotel's name is Carolus. So I'm very confused.
Fantastic bed and very kind staff
Bed was really cumfy, best Iv had since I left home 7 weeks ago. Everything you need was covered. Shower was good, also really liked their shower gel and lotion which I rarely use. Breakfast had a good selection and being open 7:30 till 12 was great, allowed me to have a sleep in.
Noise from the bus at night but on the bright side, right next to the bus stop.
Excellent staff; excellent beds; very good breakfast including Italian Cappuccino upon request!!Vey close to the Duomo. Everything on walking distance
Staff are very nice bed is comfortable room is very good.
We stayed in a Standard room at the Room Mate Luca. The staffs at room-mate are kindly and sweet. Breakfast is very good! Location is closed central market about 5 mins. They gave us a memorable honeymoon in there, thanks all of them! Stayed Dec. 2014, traveled as a couple
- Staff were very knowledgeable, I showed them restaurant suggestions from my Italian friend and they circled the restaurants for us on a map as well as added some of their own recommendations. - Great, filling breakfast. You'll need it as there is a lot of walking in Firenze! - Well decorated and clean - Good location, not quite central but close enough. Very close to palazzo medici and galleria academica which has the original David statue. - If you ask for a taxi and they say it'll be here in 2 minutes, they actually mean 30 seconds!
- City tax added at the end of our stay, but I guess that is my own fault for not reading more into the charges. - Bar was not open
Everithing: the staff, the room, the cleaness, the position, the breakfast.
The staff, location, facilities, and breakfast. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. A gentleman named Luca received us at the front desk with a BIG SMILE. He checked us in promptly, provided us with a Florence map, recommended places to visit, and answered all our questions. The hotel decoration is eclectic and nice. Our room was spotless; we had a large comfortable bed and had four pillows. The hotel is within walking distance to all the important touristic sites. Breakfast was plentiful and variety. We stayed three nights during Christmas 2014. Every morning for breakfast, the server asked us if we needed anything, he was so helpful and courteous. Every morning we asked him for cappuccino and he went in the kitchen and brought us fresh cappuccinos that tasted delicious. Christmas’ eve after a long day of sightseeing Florence, it was a great surprise to have a Christmas card lying down on our bed. We definitely come back to this hotel if we ever come back to the city of Florence.
Two separated beds put together was not very practical
No coffee, tea and kettle in room
Interior Design modern bright and pleasing to the eye, Contrasted nicely with the exterior. Long flexible Breakfast allowed for an early start or a leasurly lie in. Would recommend hotel
Bathroom was superb warm and bright and good to have a bath and shower If I was pushed to find fault, for an overweight person like me, slightly perilous to take a shower with no hand grip on wall and fixed shower screen. I was afraid to lose my balance on stepping out with wet feet
nice location, friendly staff
The hotel was clean and comfortable and all the staff were very friendly, especially Viron who made our stay special with his care, attention to detail and hospitality. When choosing a place away from home, such behaviour and care make a huge difference. I would definitely stay at Mate Luca again and recommend to others. Please keep up the good work.
Due to the location, which was very central, there was some noise coming from the streets during the night and early mornings although the double glazing helped to minimise it. Expect the city centre noises however, as they are unavoidable.
From the very first moment you walk in, you are confronted by the decor which consists of bold, strong colours; which along peculiar quirks in service, such as cute notes on hotel-branded accessories, notes by the maid or even the card guests got on Christmas Day makes one feel like part of a Wes Anderson movie. The staff are always cheerful, friendly and helpful making you feel like you matter and they bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. I've stayed in hotels with bigger rooms and perks but none made me feel as special as Room Mate Luca in Florence. Pick them and you won't regret it. I have one question though, what in the world is "Wabi Sabi"? Your shower/bath gel smells amazing.
The breakfast menu seems centred around that American staple of cereals, bacon and eggs (done very well, I might add). But I'd suggest Italianizing it a bit because people travel to Italy for, among other things, their food.
Room was clean and comfortable, good price
Shower was freezing cold, and when I told the front desk, they said they knew about it already!!
The staff were very friendly, the rooms quite new and clean, and the heated towel racks simply divine.
It is a bit of a walk from the train station, especially if you have lots of luggage. The walk into the historic center is alright, but save some energy if you're walking back from the Arno.
Location, beds and staff were really nice. Late bearkfast was nice too. Good value for money.
Good breakfast buffet, decoration is great, we enjoyed our stay
I loved everything. What is special about the atmosphere of this hotel is thoughtfulness - seems like everything is done especially for you.
Everything, but especially the people, who made feel as if I was home. Thank you for 3 great weeks.
