Carlo and his family were excellent hosts. The property is located on the family winery, with views of the vines and river below. It has an outstanding veranda for a sunset view with wine and cheese. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The amenities are excellent with bikes to use to cycle to neighboring towns. The location is very central for spending time in the Piedmont region. And the wine produced here is OUTSTANDING! I would highly recommend Casa Boffa and look forward to coming back soon.
I loved the people.
Stairs to the room.
The place is excellent. The host spoke very good English, the view over the vineyards is spectacular and the wine they produce is very enjoyable. The rooms are very well done and comfortable. Private parking is available at no charge. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, which is exceptional for a town of 700 people. The wine harvest was going on while we were there and it was fun to watch the grapes being harvested and processed. The town of Alba is very close and has an excellent market on Saturdays. Very easy to find. If you can find Barbaresco, you can find Casa Buffa.
The view was gorgeous as was the Boffa wine.
I wish there had been a direct access to the sun lounger/jacuzzi section and that the terrace would have been made more comfy (cushioned chairs or sofas and more gentle lighting). The room was also quite small.
Restaurants a stones throw Great breakfast Modern rooms
The room Breakfast
It was not clear where we had to check in. The access to the breakfast area and lounge area was awkward. Very small village with limited facilites - 2 of 4 restaurants were closed.
Beautiful, modern, clean rooms. Amazing view from the terrace where we had wine and breakfast. Nice little sunning terrace with lounge chairs and jacuzzi with "cooler" water (we thought it was a hot tub, but it was not when we felt the water). Parking available right next to building. Good recommendation for dinner.
I personally prefer when the owners of a B&B take more time to get to know you and tell you about themselves and their business. Casa Boffa is run by a wonderful family (husband, wife, son, grandma, and grandpa). They were pleasant and helpful when we approached them, but did not seem to approach us on their own. If you like to have your privacy, this is a great place to stay, but if you prefer to get to know the owners you might not be as happy. If you're looking for good conversation with a local, visit La Cantina Le Rocche dei Barbari to taste their wines and ask for Nicolas. He was such a pleasure!
Ideal location within walking distance to several restaurants and other wineries. Laura and Carlo are wonderful hosts who make you feel very welcome and they helped us to reserve tables for dinner. Large clean modern rooms with comfortable beds. Wifi works fine in both the room and the terrace. Guests can use the private terrace with sun loungers and a Jacuzzi. Large terrace with wonderful views for breakfast and some wine tasting in the afternoon, and their Barbaresco wines are very good.
Very nice view and excellent wine! We can give our best recommendations!
This place is newly furnished and well equipped. Good continental breakfast. Great view from the terrace. Friendly host.
Nothing to be mentioned.
Small hotel with modern rooms. Family run hotel. The owner is also a wine producer and offers tasting of his wines. Magnificent view from the terrace.
One of the special locations we've been at, in Piedmont. Especially to those who love good wine and food. The hosts are amazing; the view breathtaking; and the location is perfect to those who with to visit other villages in the area. The rooms clean and comfort.
Very friendly, quiet and scienic views
Great hosts and location and a view to die for. They also run a winery and the wine is some of the best I have had, and I lived most of my life minutes from Napa and Sonoma. The rooms are spacious and look brand new. I would defiantly stay here again.
- terrace views - friendly owners who are responsive to email and helped with making restaurant reservations - free parking, good wifi - clean and modern rooms - good selection for breakfast - if you need more room the suite is the best choice
The location is perfect, view is stunning, the rooms are newly referbished, great bathroom, hosts are super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast by Italian standards. Extremely good value. And they produce nice wine as well
Wonderful family, attentive service, good value for money. We will return.
My husband and I loved everything about Casa Boffa. Carlo and Laura are the most incredibly warm and hospitable hosts. On our first night, we enjoyed a few hours sitting on the lovely Terrace where Carlo brought us some delicious breadsticks and local cheese and Laura brought us a bowl of strawberries from her own garden. They were the best strawberries that I've ever had. Our room had everything we needed, a flatscreen TV, comfortable bed, refrigerator, air conditioning (which is rare for this part of Italy) and good Wi-Fi. An ample and delicious Breakfast is served on their Terrace, which has an incredible view over the vineyards of Barbaresco. Casa Boffa is located in Barbararesco, a little jewel of a town. There are many wonderful wineries close by. They are the kind of places where you can meet the owners and have some incredible wine to taste. Make sure to make an appointment in advance if you want to taste. There is also a winery on site of Casa Boffa. Carlo is the winemaker and gave us a wonderful tour and we bought a bottle of their very fine Barbaresco wine. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Rabaya, a restaurant that is reasonably priced and within walking distance of Cosa Boffa. We would absolutely stay at Casa Boffa again when we return to Piedmont at a future date. Thank you so much, Carlo and Laura, for a wonderful stay.
There is nothing that we didn't like. My only concern is that by giving such a positive review, Casa Boffa will be discovered and we may not be able to get in the next time we want to stay.
Owner's were so kind an helpfu l, sharing information about the area- making suggestions on dining. Breakfasts were very good. Location was very good as base point for relaxation as you explore the other villages with your car.
A wonderful, family-run place. the owners were very welcoming and even made a reservation at a local (delicious) traditional restaurant for us. We loved tasting the wine bottled on the premises, sitting on the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside. Excellent all round!
Good location with very helpful hosts.
Hosts were gracious, accommodating and happy to have guests enjoying themselves. Their accommodations were of high quality and the outside patio overlooking the vineyard was outstanding. When we return to Barbaresco, we intend to stay here again. We stayed in over 15 accommodations during our month in Italy and Casa Boffa was one of the best!
There is not a single thing not to like about Casa Boffa.
Laura and Carlos were great hosts. The terrace was lovely, the wine was superb, the rooms were clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated....really there is nothing I would change. Highly recommended.
Great Place, Lovely People and Hospitality Easy to find and good location for area. Good restaurants nearby Lovely wine
