Loved everything! Was an amazing experience for our honeymoon! The view from the bedroom is aaaamazing
beautiful place, lovely family, great rooms, very clean, amazing view, great breakfast. no bad comments at all :)
The views are incredible. And you can hike The Walk of the Gods from directly behind the hotel. The hike is about 3 hours and steep but an awesome way to see the coastline. There are a few good restaurants in Praiano, within walking distance of the hotel. And you can take sita bus hourly to Positano or Amalfi.
The breakfast is not good. The espresso drinks were poor, which is unheard of in Italy. The staff is around in the morning but other than that you're on your own. Amalfi coast is a special place and I'm sure there are more special accommodations, even in the budget range.
The views, the staff, the location in Praiano, the availbility of parking, the Sentiero degli Dei path nearby...
The bed is not top quality but it is ok.
Staff, particularly piña, was brilliant. View from terrace is superb. Nice quiet location
Breakfast was limited and could be better. Disappointed with coffee. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Poor wifi strength
Rooms are really big, clean and comfortable with an amazing view from your own balcony. The place is family run and has a really nice atmosphere.
Nothing to complain about.
The hospitality was very welcoming. The views were stunning, you couldn't wish for a better view while eating your breakfast on the shady terrace. The accommodation was very comfortable.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about Casa Colomba. The only thing I would mention to other travellers though are the 219 steps up to the house. I consider myself fairly fit but I found them a challenge and an obstacle when we just wanted to 'pop to the shop'.
Casa Colomba is located in Praiano, between Positano and Amalfi, it's the perfect place to be if you want to explore the coast and nearby town as it is well connected with the SITA busses. The house is wonderful, every room has a terrace with a fantastic view over the sea and the nearby town of Positano. The staff - a very nice Italian family - is super friendly and helpful. They have a couple parking spots if you decide to go there by car. The breakfast on the main terrace is awesome, they have a different cake every day as well! Sleep quality is amazing, comfy beds and no sound at all from the outside except crickets far away that lullaby you to sleep. 100% would go back again!!
Loved the terrace and the views were to die for. Very clean and bed was very comfortable.
The view was lovely despite the 220 step climb to reach it. It was great to have a balcony to relax on, albeit quite small. The room was very basic, but all you could expect for the price (very reasonable for these parts). Breakfasts offered great variety and there were great views from the dining area. Praino is very quiet but central to all we wanted to see and enabled us to avoid the craziness of the larger towns. Best discovery - the restaurant at the Marigold Hotel. Spectacular place for dinner.
I am sorry, but I don't care how cheap a place is, there is no excuse for bathroom ceilings and walls covered in mould - and it wasn't just ours because I checked others. The smell was disgusting, like being in a cave. The room was supposed to contain a fridge but there wasn't one there, it would have been nice to have been able to keep a bottle of wine in it for the evenings. Whilst the bed was comfortable enough, the pillows were filled with chopped chunks of foam - Very uncomfortable!!!! The stairs (all 220 of them) were a killer but this is the Amalfi Coast. If you feel that would be a problem for you then a more expensive place with an elevator would be a better choice. Many of these issues aren't deal breakers considering the price- the only real reason I couldn't recommend this place is the mouldy bathroom issue. Totally inexcusable!!!
We had a family emergency, and had to leave a day early on short notice. The family were incredibly helpful and understanding, and even found/sent us back some items we left in our haste.
Tiring climb up the steps!!!! However worth it....
Lovely family run accommodation. View was breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious.
Approximately 250 steps up to the accommodation.
1. The quality of the room 2. The spectacular view 3. The kind, helpfull staff 4. The village of Praiano quite compared to Amalfi and Positano
1. It is do-able but there are 200 steps
It's a great place with an even greater view! Breakfast is good and the rooms are clean. Staff are very friendly.
Management staff, lovely family
Noise from other apartments. Could hear every word as wifi only worked on balconies. Not very soundproof
I don't know where to begin with my review - everything was just perfect! Firstly if you are taking the Sita bus from Sorrento, you need the first bus stop in Praiano which is after the first tunnel. Sitting on the left side of the bus once you pass Positano, you will be able to see the Casa Colomba sign. Luckily when we got there, the man from the electronics store at the bottom of the stairs buzzed the hotel and the pulley system was sent down for our bags. He told us to go on up and took care of our luggage which was so nice of him. If no one is there, make sure buzz using the intercom on the right side of the gate so you don't have to walk up with your luggage.OK so you have to walk the 210+ steps up and to be honest it is a nice walk. The steps are covered most of the way with grape vines, tomatoes, large lemons and even melons! Not to mention the views behind you of Positano, Capri and the sea. I took my time up and stopped to sit about three times. At one point, lovely Pina came looking for me as my husband walked ahead of me. When you get to the top the views are a dream come true. Pina's son treated us to a jug of fresh lemon juice. So refreshing! We checked in and everything about the hotel was explained even the free WiFi and breakfast on the terrace. When we got to our room and our balcony we could not believe the views! Best room with a view ever! Pina, her mother in law, sis in law and son run the hotel and they treat you like family. Breakfast was delicious and Pina's sister in law made fresh delicious jams. There was nothing that was too much for them; such a lovely family. We had an economy room which meant we had a separate toilet/ bathroom but this was not a problem as it was totally private and lockable. (We left it open most of the times). We did the path of the Gods from behind the hotel but this was a hard walk. If you normally hike then I suggest starting from the path at the back of the hotel.
Not a bad comment but a suggestion. Would have liked a mini fridge is the room to store wine, fruits and meats as we ate out on the balcony a few times :)
nice view from the balcony perfect base for the path of the gods
a lots of stairs, but we knew that :)
Pina and her family really added a special touch to this vacation, like no other experience. It felt like we were staying with family. The spectacular view each day of the coast and Capri was amazing. It is quiet anvery relaxing. Great daily breakfast. Great location away from the business of Amalfi and Positanio.
The staff were amazing and very helpful and absolutely accommodating! The view from our room was just breath taking! We got a Superior Double room and it was like a studio apartment - we even had our own private balcony which came with sun beds. It was very quiet and peaceful at night time, had the best sleep i have had in a long time! Apart from the steps you have to take up and down, this place cannot be faulted. We would definitely come here again!
The stairs to the top
the staff was amazing the food the location the atmosphere was so great, i do belive i come again
So this place has one of the most amazing views of Coast Amalfi. The owner of the hotel is really nice and cool, she even sings Carusa so you absolutely feel that you're in Italy.
breakfast can be much more better.
Amazing place with the most breathtaking views. Some people have previously moaned about the stairs but if that is the case the Amalfi Coast may not be ideal for you. Breakfast lovely as was the hospitality!
Views were excellent Staff very friendly & helpful Great accessibility to Path of the Gods hiking trail Extremely clean & quiet Spacious
The 200 stairs upward climb every time you got home
Great view Great room Great staff Price was great Romantic Located in Praiano which is a more quiet romantic town and Postiano is a short throw away. Great restaurants in the town and that view again was....amazing. Beware though you have to walk from the street up to the hotel up into the mountain many steps so you get a good workout, but remember that is what you will find in most hotels in this region due to the landscape. I think it added to the adventure, you'll definitely burn off that dinner!
Beds were a little hard
