Single beds were somewhat hard; bathroom down the hall was private, very nice, but awkward to walk out of your room at night. One other room has the same setup, and I met our neighbor at 2:00AM, with both of us walking to our individual bathrooms.
I had read Daphne Phelps' book, "A House In Sicily" and wanted to see it. I was not disappointed...it is stunning. The location, setting, and views are unbeatable. The rate seemed high ($145 for a room with private bath down the hall), but I believe that is normal for Taormina. If you can afford a little more, the top room would be preferable. It is very private. Parking is an additional $12, and the owner drives it and returns it when you leave. Owners are very helpful.
