clean and quiet
the bed was horrible, hard as a rock. Even smaller than a regular twin size bed (more like a child's bed). Poor quality
The receptionist was very pleasant and very pleasing personality. Breakfast was simple but good.
I understand that this is an old hotel. I like the quaintness of the hotel but they just need to improve their beddings need improvement although room was clean.
The location is good. The staff is very nice and helpful.
The friendly service.
The hard bed.
- Good service - Excellent capuccino! - clean - location
Great location overlooking the river. Easy walk to the main bridge and tourist area . very close and direct walk to the station.
Walls very thin but provided good entertainment.
within walking distance of the station this 4th floor hotel had a lift which was small but great, nice buffet breakfast that had grainy brown bread, cream cheese and pate, a change from all the sweat options. Our room was very large and the window opened out onto the river. We had the choice of using a ceiling fan or air conditioning! Not on one of the busy streets it was nice and quiet but still a short walk to everything.
Shutters on the window looked like they were about to fall apart.
Immediate location. Safe/secure place to stay. Size of room. Overlooking the Arno was good. Quiet due to being in a no through road and near the US Consulate.
Breakfast - limited choice, fresh fruit would have been good. Marks on walls still there, even though this was mentioned last year. Lack of draw/shelf space for clothes. Insufficient power sockets - especially if you need to charge more than one device.
Lovely hotel overlooking the river in the centre of town.Very quiet and the breakfast was plentiful.
The walls need a coat of paint. There are swatted mosquitos everywhereand the rooms need fly wire!!
- very friendly staff - location - security (in building Austria consulate)
- toilet flush - no parking in front of hotel (it's not hotel's fault. hotel is in area with restricted parking. staff is very helpful to find parking place)
Our host was very helpful with Academia reservations, reconnecting WiFi, and morning Cappuccino. The neighborhood had great little restaurants too.
Window shutters were a little tricky to operate. But fresh air and river view were worth the attempt.
nothing the water view was dirty
Had a room with a view of the river, good breakfast, helpful staff.
Quite a walk from the centre of town.
Walking distance among all Florence major tourist site and train station. The room was large enough and the view of river was excellent. Value for money with such a location and room quality.
Wifi was too weak in the room, but ok in the public area.
Great location and view of river Arno
Located along the Arno River so nice and provides good views upto Ponto Vecchio and the surrounding hills. Very quite as there is no traffic. Not too far from train station. Breakfast options are small. Wifi was good.
The bathroom shower was not adjustable.
This is a very simple but cosy spot! It's located right in front of the Arno River, three brigdes from Ponte Vecchio, and with easy access to the train station, in a very safe area (sort of an Embassy Row). The room was clean and spacious, and our view from the Arno was just breathtaking! Breakfast was nice, and the classic music playing along was the icing on the cake!
The bathroom could be a little more ventilated. But that's no big issue!
It was out of the hustle and bustle of all the tourists very old world and great breakfasts
Loved it all
Location, fabulous view, beautiful, secure building, lovely high ceilings in rooms, huge, double pane windows, calm, sedate neighborhood, superb morning coffee, the knowledgeable, patient, and kind Sig. Antonio. Such great potential to be a truly memorable small, intimate hotel.
Horribly inadequate shower head, broken/missing window shutter hardware negating the enjoyment of the wonderfully outrageous view, small, outdated tv (inoperable remote), poor wifi signal, insufficient noise damping from other rooms, wake-up call system failed to work, limited/boring breakfast selection (good yogurt and wonderful bread longing for a bit of real cheese and real fruit). Located one block from the American Consulate in a beautiful building shared by the Australian and Luxembourg Consulates with a fabulous view of the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio, this (almost/could so easily be great) hotel cries out for/deserves much better treatment.
The owners treat you like family. I felt like I was staying at a relative's home!!! Would go back in an instant!!
Breakfast could have been better but it was okay.
I liked that the room was big, we had three suit cases and we had plenty of room. The location is not too far away from the city center, just not in it. The hotel is nearby a lot of consulates which makes it have a lot of security around. The staff are pretty welcoming and we were very nicely treated.
It says hotel, but when you get there it's a one floor hostel. The room we got didn't have a view to the river, we had to stick out our heads to get a side view. The toilet was coming apart, the shower was tiny and the TV was as big as a football, and half the time it would not turn on.
The location to railway, car hire, and to the popular site, one would like to see, then it's a wonderful location. We had a lovely view of the River Arno from our room. Clean bedding and towels. Good coffee.
The room was lacking in furniture and it had no warmth to it. It had an unkept look . There was a 14ins obsolete TV in the room. Breakfast consisted of bread and soft cheese. Value for money not very good. Considering we have traveled around Italy in similar standard hotels, which were in better standards.
Overall we enjoyed our stay because the staff were very responsible and helpful. We felt very secure staying at this hotel even when we have to leave the keys at the reception everytime we leave the hotel. Even though I agree that the place probably would be better with a bit of renovation however the room was very clean. Breakfast was good and the owner makes real coffee for you at breakfast! not coffee machine coffee!
Only a few things which I thought was a bit of let down was we had to purchase bottled water from the hotel, no kettle in the room so it was not possible to have a cup of hot drink when we wanted to. And the double bed was 2 singles put together. The location was fair, walking distance to the heart of city however I felt that it was positioned near the border of the city. After a long day on feet exploring the city you might want to catch the city buses to get back to the hotel. 10 minuets walk from train station was handy though.
It was nice to be see that Austrian and Luxemburg Consolates are at the same building:) Nice breakfast and clean tables. Antonio was friendly.
