Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic centre. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.
Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.
For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

One piece of advice to all visitors: when taking a tram from the airport to the center of Florence: don't buy tickets from strangers in the tram for cash, it is a scam. The tickets are only sold in special machines on tram stops. And don't forget to validate the ticket inside the tram once you get inside, otherwise you'll get a fine of 40 euros per ticket (we saw it happened to a couple of people in our tram)

Beautiful city, lots to do and really comfortable to walk around.
We didn’t get a chance to see the inside of the cathedral though as the queues were always way too long and we had other things booked, the cathedral free entry closes at 3.45pm which I think is a bit too early. So we will have to return for that and a few other things we missed as we didn’t have enough time.

For art lovers Florence is an absolute must. The amount of masterpieces just blows your mind.
There is an abundance of Italian style restaurants with always friendly staff.
Florence old city is not to big, you can get everywhere on foot, very tourist friendly place.
Avoid the height of the season, already in march the crowds were dense.

I had been to Florence decades ago.
I had been to Florence decades ago. I still find the city lively and holding much of its charm with small artisan shops and cafes. There is an incredible sandwich at the train stain near the McDonalds. Flat bread with eggplant, cheese, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and peppers. 6.5 Euros. I was the best takeout I found in Italy without meat. Really enjoyed staying on both sides of the river in an apartment and a hotel. Florence is wonderful for day trips.

In Italy is called "la culla del Rinascimento" because is the city where Renaissance flourished. It has many cultural and artistically attraction where you can visit one of the most beautiful nd famous pieces f art of the world. Clean, small, easily walkable and well connected, is a city that welcomes tourists with open arms. Many attractions for Youngers are free or have reduced price. The culinary tradition is amazing and the wines are ones of the best I have ever tried.
Overall is a city I really enjoyed, not too crowded but still populated.
This is an interesting place, part of it is for long term students/international workers. It has a very artsy eclectic vibe. It was close to the train station and close enough to walk to the main attractions in Florence. The rooms were big for Florence, and there was free laundry in the basement which worked well. There is a very nice gym that my husband was happy to use, as most of our hotels in Italy have not had a gym. The best part of the hotel is the rooftop pool/bar! amazing views of the Duomo!
Our stay at Eliana’s was a great finale to our Italy trip. She prepared dinner for us in her garden. Romantic, relaxing, so delicious! We felt like we had a personal chef! She is a great hostess, treats you like family. It’s obvious she loves what she does. The room was spacious for a couple, very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning too. She fed us breakfast and brought us to the airport the next morning. We were well taken care of! So much better than a hotel! Highly recommend!
Relais Tiffany is in a great location for exploring Florence and is close to the train station too if you're travelling. The room was comfortable and clean with AC and water, tea and coffee provided. Antonella was super helpful and sent through a list of recommendations beforehand including where to eat, drink etc. She also helped us plan how to get to our next destination in Italy and was really flexible with us when it came to leaving our bags after check out time. We would highly recommend!
What a wonderful surprise! This very economical hotel, right in the heart of lively Florence neighborhood, left me amazed and delighted. I thought that the affordable price might mean sacrificing comfort or tranquility but that was not the case at all. The noise-canceling windows and the perfect AC gave me some of the best nights of sleep during my entire stay in Italy. The folks who work there are also friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to go back!
After staying in some not-so fancy hotels throughout our trip in Italy, we were PLEASANTLY surprised when we arrived to Hotel Pierre. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and the room and hotel spaces were so charming! On top of everything else, this is probably one of the best locations you can stay at in Florence. We were walking distance to everything, and had multiple shops and cafes right outside of our door.
The location was perfect for walking around the historic city centre, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in giving us the information we needed to make the very best of our stay in Florence, we only had one night in the city as we were touring Italy by train, but it is definitely somewhere I would stay again and would recommend to fellow travellers and friends and family (the breakfast was great).
Luxurious and comfortable room that makes you feel like royalty. Staff are knowledgeable and helped with every request. We stayed our last night in Italy so we could make an early flight. Would return for a few more wonderful days in Florence. Just steps from the Ufizzi, it is easy to explore the city center that is abundant with art, history, shops and restaurants. This is a gorgeous find.
Marco was the best host i had in Italy, completing the "package" of a memorable stay in Florence. The room was clean and comfortable, the morning coffe -perfect, the location- as close as you would want it to attractions without becoming too crowded or noisy at night. We walked mostly everywhere, and will stay there again next time in Florence. Thank you again to Marco and his team!!
There is only one word to describe this hotel and the hospitality: Excellence!
We were on our honeymoon arranged by an excellent Italian organizer and Host throughout Italy over 18 days, amazing.
This hotel was the perfect fit for Florence, among all the other unique experiences, reserved only for us thanks to our Hosts' exclusive access to incredible places and experiences.
The location is second to none. It was fantastic having a centrally located well-appointed apartment walking distance to all the sights Florence has on offer. Italy has notoriously small hotel rooms, so having an apartment with a large bedroom, renovated bathroom, lounge and dining area was exactly what we needed. The bed and sofa bed were incredibly comfortable.
Our first time to Italy and Florence was our first stop. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful; particularly Eleanor. Special mention to Aman who pampered us with such delicious spread of breakfast every morning. Thank you for your warm hospitality in making Florence a memorable place to visit.
The staff was great, the breakfast was amazing. And also the bedrooms, nice bed, nice shower and bathroom. And the location is absolutely perfect, very near from central station, central market and near the main attractions of Firenze.
No words for Spadai, it was definitely the best hotel we stayed during our 15 day trip to Italy.
Silvia’s place was beautiful. Exactly as described in the pictures, phenomenal location right in the heart of Florence. She even was so kind to leave us a bottle of wine & Oreos. It was the best B&B we stayed in during our 2 week trip to Italy. Highly recommend!!
The best hotel that I stay in Italy! Location is perfect, room is super clean and friendly staff. I wish I will stay in Canto degli Aranci again in my next Florence visit. This place makes my travel very well. Highly recommended!
I would say this is my best hotel for my Italy trip. First, the staff explain and recommend everything that you can explore in Florence including places and foods. The air-conditioning in the room is just good during the summer.
we were traveling around a lot throughout northern Italy and the hotel graciously took our luggage early so that we could explore Florence before checking in. we really appreciated that and also loved how clean it was there!
This was the best place we stayed in Italy. Comfortable like home combined with old school hotel. Staff were nice, rooms clean and comfy and very close to attractions. I would stay here again without hesitation.
The room was generally clean, the hotel is very close to a tram station and you can reach easily the city center. Also they have free parking, something that is very rare in Italy
Baglioni Grand Hotel is a safe, centrally located for walking historic Florence Italy. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel rooms are very quiet.
