- Madona di Monti square is too noisy in the night, so it is not ease to sleep. - Internet is too slow. - There is no condicionated air. - The breakfast is so simple.
Location minutes from Cavour tube station and 10 minutes from colloseum Set in a lively piazza. Breakfast was good.
Nothing not to like
Location is great as it is less than 10 mins from Colosseo. I didn't use any transportation to go to any place as i like walking but u might need it if u go to Vatican ;) Staff is really helpful and the hostel is very clean
Nothing bad about the hostel but the size of my bed was small. i am sure if i said sth they would have changed it for me but i didn't The wifi is just in the room Rooms don't have AC
- good location - friendly staff - basic but good quality - ideally for a citytrip
- no meat at breakfast
Located in a beautiful square just a few minutes walk to colloseum Very good value for money Nice staff Good wifi
Clean, cheap, nice
Wifi was a little slow in the room
I liked how the hotel was very close to some essential sightseeing places: -10 minutes walk to Colosseum -10 minutes walk to Vienna Piazza -if you are into premiere league football Finnegans irish pub is 2 minutes walk It was very easy to get anywhere from there: -5 minutes walk to Cavour metrostation ( the station in between Cavour and Colosseum) -or busses leaving close by The hotel looked nice inside and the breakfeast was free.
It was quite hot in the room, no air conditioning. Wi-fi is usable but a bit slow and troublesome at times. In the beginning it worked pretty fine but few days after it got slower. Maybe because more people were using it at the same time.
Proximity to all famous landmarks. I travelled a lot on foot and staying at casa santa sofia helped. It is not a hotel in traditional sense. It is run by Church hence, does not have traditional hotel vibe or facilities like, a small safe or fridge. But still its a decent option and I would recommend it to other travellers. I opted for breakfast and had it everyday. The options were basic but fresh, I don't do heavy breakfast anyways so for me it was fine The bathroom was clean, the shower box was bit tiny.
There was no safe in the room to lock valuables. You could leave your important items with them at the reception but I will still prefer a small locker in the room. When I stayed there (end of July) it was very humid there so some sort of fan or air conditioning will definitely help.
Location, nice staff, wished I would've been up for the breakfast more, very secure and loved the changeable code for the door every night
Nothing great value for money
I got a deal and the price was really excellent for the location of Casa Santa Sofia - less than 10 minutes walking to Colosseum and Venezia square.
The choice of salty food for breakfast was limited, the wifi was slow, and my room was facing the small square where young people were chatting till late in the night, so I had to close the windows.
walkable location to Colosseum so we went their everyday to see the sunset. Safe area, noisy at night but people hanging around do not look dangerous and make us feel safe to have people around here all the time. Breakfast was simple but alright
Veryy slowww Wifi, the shower was very small and the way it is, you can't avoid making the bathroom flood everytime we use the shower. need more electronic sockets! (prepare your own cable extension if you need to charge many things, there is only one in the room and one in the toilet.)
Locations was great. Service was excellent and people were friendly.
Rooms were small and our bathroom leaked.
Efficient staff, location, adequate but not exciting breakfast, quality of sheets. Having read other reviews I had my earplugs on the ready but found I didn't need them. My room overlooked the small square that had several small restaurants and a fountain that acted as a meeting place. There was a definite hum of Rome in action which I enjoyed but could easily screen it off with the windows closed. A personal fan kept the air moving and I slept well, which is number one priority for me. The place is largely run by nuns and there are Christian statues and paintings throughout. Wifi was good throughout. Security is good.
The room is a bit spartan. There is a sitting area where I could stor my bags and also spend some time after checking out.
Location was ideal with a 15 min walk from the Rome central train station (you don't want to stay close to the central train anyways, given the shady area). At the same time, it is next to Cavour train station, the next train stop from Rome central train station if you prefer not to walk. Also, the guy at the front desk was helpful in all my questions and also offered to help to provide me with an adaptor (though it didn't work and I ended up buying one anyways). The only negative is that there is a lot of chatting downstairs which might affect you if you are a light sleeper. You will have to keep windows open since it is hot otherwise. On the flip side, you can meet a lot of new people downstairs near the piazza. Also, overall the room was very clean. Definitely recommend.
Central, clean,good facilities
No fan, hot, quite noisy
Nice location near Colosseum and subway Good price Many restaraunts and shops around. There is fountain below where people meet in the evening,
Weak Wi-Fi signal or slow speed There is church inside the hotel, so it was strange to see staff at the robes and smell lamps Quite noisy because of fountain
The hotel was clean and run by friendly staff. It was situated on a beautiful and popular square with great restaurants. Close to the Roman Forum and Colosseum. Room was simple dressed and had everything that we needed.
A bell rang every morning at 8 - which was a little early for us. We didn't feel the need to complain about it - just a minor point!
This hotel is attached to a church, and the front desk is staffed by the nuns (who also stay in the rooms there, I think). Very basic accommodations, and very clean. There was no air conditioning, which I overlooked when booking the room. But the room was equipped with an oscillating fan, which kept the room cool enough to be comfortable while sleeping (which was really the only time we were there!). Super close to the Colosseum and located on a somewhat busy square. Lots of people enjoying apperitivos by the fountain. A couple of garden patio restaurants nearby, but very pricey. Go around the corner to Vecchia Roma--reasonably-priced and tasty. Entrance code to front door changes daily. Felt very secure.
Not sure I'd recommend this place to couples (not so much privacy with the windows open), but it's great for people looking for low-cost (but not low-quality) lodging in the center of Rome.
Amazing location, really close to main attractions, good breakfast, highly recommend if you are after simple comfortable accommodation. Added bonus was the special character of the place which really added to the experience.
located near colossium. staff are friendly and helpful.
no air conditioning and TV. located at a quite busy plazza and is noisy during the night
not possible to sleep because of the noise from the street
Convenient location Comfortable and clean Pleasant staff
No air conditioning
Location and price
Uncomfortable bed - I felt like I was going to fall off of it if I moved.
