Room to Rome offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen satellite TV. The B&B is in the trendy district of Monti, 500 metres from the Coliseum and the Imperial Forum.
Score from 106 reviews Very good
Just over a quarter mile from the Colosseum, Best Western Plus Hotel Milton is by Rome's Basilica of St. John in Lateran. All rooms offer satellite TV channels, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 683 reviews Very good
Il Covo B&B is set in the pretty neighborhood of Monti in the heart of the historic center. Take a short stroll down to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
Score from 601 reviews Very good
Hotel Prati features air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. It is on a quiet street, just a 5 minute walk from Castel Sant'Angelo and the stop of the shuttle bus to Fiumicino Airport....
Score from 236 reviews Very good
Nice neighbourhood, close to the attractions and the subway.
The room was towards a square and it was noicy.
Good breakfast, great and safe location near Coliseo and Fori Imperiali. Staff is very nice and helpful. Private bathroom, like a hotel. Recommended.
weak wifi (unless in my room, they really need to improve this). Room heating was regulated centrally so I coulnt turn it on or off according to my needs. But pros are bigger than cons
Location is great
The room is very simple like old hostel. Staffs are with limited English and breakfast is simple as well.
Good choice if you are looking for a central location, and plan to just use the room for storing baggage and sleep at new night!
just 5 mit walk to colloseum and walkable to pantheon. metro station just 3 mit walk. also, breakfast was good!
Very good location.
Just the location
Surprised to be greeder by a nun, the smell of incense was unbearable, sweet breakfast, noisy and cold. I was disappointed because the rating is above 8 and the facilities were below average.
This was my second stay at Casa Santa Sofia.I love the location and the Sisters who work the desk during the day are very sweet and helpful. I have been to Rome many times and have stayed in hotels and apartments and the beds I have slept in here are among the most comfortable ones I have found in Rome. Most places have what feels like slabs of rock, but these beds... ah... they were lovely after a day of touring the city. Don't forget to ask for a room on the back side of the building because the square in front is Lively until the wee wee hours of the morning.
The ONLY bad thing was where the toilet paper holder was mounted was about shoulder level next to the toilet in a very tight 3 sided slot in the bathroom, but this is different in every room as the configurations are not all the same. The other thing that might bother someone is Yes, it is an old building, and YES when you first walk in to an enclosed room it will smell damp, we fixed this by opening the window for about 10 mins then it was fine. One last note, the gentleman who checked us in, spoke way too fast to give us the important info he must have to tell everyone. He raced through it as though it was a race. I am sure he knew what he was saying but I didn't understand a thing and had I not already stayed there before, I would have had to ask him to repeat it all.
I stayed at Santa Sofia for 3 nights and Id give it an overall rating of 7.5! It's a really cute place and is really close to everything! The staff is really lovely and room is exactly how I imagined. Nothing special but cute! I will definitely come back to this hotel for my next stay in Rome! (Just pick a more quiet room!!)
I'd say the only down side is that the room I chose was facing out to the square which really was a bad decision as on most nights, when it's not raining, it's REALLY loud! Almost impossible to sleep. I had to buy some ear plugs from the pharmacy and they didn't do much... Also the breakfast is super simple, everything is sweet stuff. But I guess for the money you pay, that is really all you can expect! I'd recommend to chose a quiet room when they ask you at reception, unless you are a party animal and are planning on staying out till 3am :)
Cleanliness, location, ambience and price
Breakfast was lacking a little. Fruit would have been nice!
Excellent location - a few minutes from Colosseum, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Room with the view on the piazza (small square).
Problems with WiFi.
Our room was clean and not bad.
Very noisy outside till midnight. Wifi didnt work good
Nice old building with a garden out back. Simple, peaceful vibe. Located south of the Arno, a short walk from the central tourist area, but still close enough to make sightseeing easy.
There was an issue with the shower not working in the bathroom nearest to our bedroom, but the staff gave us access to a different bathroom so it wasn't a big deal. Staff warned us that wifi might not work in our room. It actually worked fine, but I guess it might not work in all rooms.
I really enjoyed my stay and felt secure, bed was comfortable also great breakfast.
Position is the major advantage of the structure.
We stayed there for 2 nights and the first one we got the room on the Piazza della Madonna dei Monti, one of the most crowded at night in Rome! The price was not that high for the center of Rome, however the rooms and the service (including breakfast) are very poor.
great location, safe area, clean and comfortable room
location , staff , cleanliness, value for money, almost everything.
breakfast was all sweet options, its bad for someone who deosn't like sweet breakfast,if there is plain croissant or salty that would be perfect, coffee is not good room is very small but that was ok for me
Location is second to none, just 5-10 minutes walk to the colosseo and all the historical attractions! And walking to the Termini with luggages takes only less than 20 minutes! The staff on the front desk was very helpful when I asked to change my big note into smaller ones. I had a single room, which was very clean. The shower was hot and powerful enough which helped a lot to release the tiredness after a long walking day. Breakfast was nice enough to give you full energy!
My room was just in front of the fountain and a cafe, where a lot of people gathered and chatted until midnight! So it was super noisy! Lucky that after the first night, I was too tired and fell asleep quickly. So just don't pick the rooms facing that side at your check in.
No heating in the room. In a day they only run the heating for 2 hours and the room was cold.
This hotel has perfect Location if you want to visit Rome on Foot, it is easy to check in and they will take care of your stuff if you arrive before time while you visit or as in my case will even let you check into your room if ready at any time. The staff is very cooperative and the rooms very clean and affordable.
I wouldn't say i didn't like the breakfast but it can be improved in my opinion.
all is poor
Fantastic location: very close to the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia, yet very quiet. Very basic rooms (matching exactly the description on booking.com) - and super friendly staff.
The free WiFi was quite temperamental: worked maybe 10% of the time.
Location, staff, cleaning
WiFi a little slow
Nice and welcoming stuff, wonderful location near the important monuments and museums:)
