Located in a beautiful square just a few minutes walk to colloseum Very good value for money Nice staff Good wifi
Clean, cheap, nice
Wifi was a little slow in the room
Location, nice staff, wished I would've been up for the breakfast more, very secure and loved the changeable code for the door every night
Nothing great value for money
I got a deal and the price was really excellent for the location of Casa Santa Sofia - less than 10 minutes walking to Colosseum and Venezia square.
The choice of salty food for breakfast was limited, the wifi was slow, and my room was facing the small square where young people were chatting till late in the night, so I had to close the windows.
Locations was great. Service was excellent and people were friendly.
Rooms were small and our bathroom leaked.
Central, clean,good facilities
No fan, hot, quite noisy
The hotel was clean and run by friendly staff. It was situated on a beautiful and popular square with great restaurants. Close to the Roman Forum and Colosseum. Room was simple dressed and had everything that we needed.
A bell rang every morning at 8 - which was a little early for us. We didn't feel the need to complain about it - just a minor point!
This hotel is attached to a church, and the front desk is staffed by the nuns (who also stay in the rooms there, I think). Very basic accommodations, and very clean. There was no air conditioning, which I overlooked when booking the room. But the room was equipped with an oscillating fan, which kept the room cool enough to be comfortable while sleeping (which was really the only time we were there!). Super close to the Colosseum and located on a somewhat busy square. Lots of people enjoying apperitivos by the fountain. A couple of garden patio restaurants nearby, but very pricey. Go around the corner to Vecchia Roma--reasonably-priced and tasty. Entrance code to front door changes daily. Felt very secure.
Not sure I'd recommend this place to couples (not so much privacy with the windows open), but it's great for people looking for low-cost (but not low-quality) lodging in the center of Rome.
Amazing location, really close to main attractions, good breakfast, highly recommend if you are after simple comfortable accommodation. Added bonus was the special character of the place which really added to the experience.
located near colossium. staff are friendly and helpful.
no air conditioning and TV. located at a quite busy plazza and is noisy during the night
not possible to sleep because of the noise from the street
Convenient location Comfortable and clean Pleasant staff
No air conditioning
Location and price
Uncomfortable bed - I felt like I was going to fall off of it if I moved.
Location on corner of old square with large fountain. Near the busy Via Cavour, but seemed miles away in old cobbled square beside church. Former convent with friendly and helpful staff.
Don't take the open top bus tour (discount offered by hotel). Way too slow. Gets tangled up in frantic city traffic. You could walk faster!
The staff was very helpful in making museum reservations for me and in giving me directions. The breakfast was good. The location is perfect. It is close to bus lines but also within walking distance of the colosseum and other sights.
I wish there had been a television.
The hotel has an excellent location, only a few minutes walk to Forum Romanum and Collosseum, even the Vatican is only a 45 min. walk. The rooms are simple and basic, but clean and more than enough if you need a hotel only for sleeping (why on Earth would you do anything else in a hotel in Rome :) They serve a simple breakfast, which was more than we expected (not just the tipical Italian biscuit+coffee). The square in front of the hotel is an evening meeting place for italians, so if you want a more quite room, ask for those at the back of the building. Great value for money!
For this price? Nothing :)
Great people, very safe area. Good breakfast. :)
It was in the perfect place. You could walk to the colleso only in five minutes and metro was so close too.
Location Nice bars around
It was expensive for the comfort they provided
Great location (5 minutes's walk to Colosseum), Helpful staff (although most staff members hardly speak any English). Very clean - rooms were cleaned every day
Breakfast, wi-fi although free was very slow and got disconnected all the time our window was facing the square with bars and cafes - was very noisy until 4 in the morning (especially on Friday)
Location good, although not great if you don't know the public transport and are expecting to get to places like Navona and Campo in less than 15 mins by foot; facilities were always clean; Wifi was ok, but spotty at times; the beds were comfortable and linens were always clean; the view was wonderful; the piazza on which it stands (della Madonna dei Monti) is full of people at night and very lively, if that appeal to you - could be a con if not.
Air Conditioning is extra and not in every room, so if that's what you're looking for, be sure to ask ahead for it to be turned on (It's also 10 Euro per day to run it); the noise level (IF the windows were open, say because you don't have the AC on) was almost unbearable at night due to the large crowds of people in the piazza below.
The location is excellent with Coliseum in sight and metro 2 minutes' walk.
Great location - within minutes to the Colosseum as well as the metro so getting to the train station or out to the Vatican was easy. Staff were very pleasant.
Shower was a bit small, WiFi was quite slow at times. Very noisy at night. It was very hot and the only way to cool down the room was the fan and opening the window. Was woken up every night by glass breaking at the restaurant below plus the people talking around the fountain. Only 2 outlets in the room meant 1 plug for 2 people since the fan was necessary.
