I especially liked the quite atmosphere. The friendly sisters running the hotel. Safe feeling. Clean rooms.

This is not really a negative point, but the rooms are rather ascetic: very basic furniture, no TV, facilities are clean, but slso rather old, etc. So in case you are 'spoiled' or on a romantic trip, this may not be a good choice.

A 5-minute walk from the Colosseum.

This hotel was a total rip-off. We requested a single bed, and instead, slept on twin beds. The floor emanated a particular unpleasant odor. There was no air conditioner, nor fridge. The breakfast was awful! Stale cereals and pastries. I have seen ants swarming around the coffee machine and even had ants in my tea! I notified one of the nuns about the ants; nothing was done. Unless you do not care for cleanliness, commodities, and breakfast, this place is location perfect but highly pricey for the awful conditions.

Great location and street view - breathtaking view at the Colosseum, close to the Ancient Rome and Centro Storico, metro station 1 minute away and only 1 metro station from Termini Station. Security - I felt really safe although I traveled alone. After 00:00 you can get in only if you have a security code. Clean and quiet - even though in front of the hotel is a nice little piazza with a fountain that is busy during the night, and my room was on the first floor, it was really quiet. Room service is OK. They take out the trash, clean the bathroom and change towels. Nice breakfast - mainly sweet with coffee. Really pleasant and helpful staff.

The hotel is situated in the center of Rome which is very convenient. It has a lovely atmosphere, the stuff is very friendly and kind. The rooms and breakfast are simple but acceptable. There's no TV in the room.

Whilst the hotel is quite basic in terms of style, the rooms are immaculately clean and quite roomy, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom more than adequate. Unbeatable value for dead centre of Rome.

Staff tried to charge me higher price for room than what I booked online. No communication between manager and staff/reception. Big problem about paying with credit card. Reception phone not always working.

The location was close to all the main historical sites with minutes walks to the Colosseum. There is a nice little water fountain in the front of the hotel entrance. There is a breakfast room by the reception. Breakfast is basic which will keep you going till lunch. There are many little take away shops to grap a pizza slice and a drink and also many restaurants for those who would like to sit down for a meal. The hotel is perfect for those who would like to come, drop their bags and go out. If you looking for hotels services and so on, then look for something else. Free WIFI was available in the hotel and I was in touch with my family via the internet & facebook. That was a big bounce :)

The hotel didn't have a large clear sign and we had to ask around alot till we got there. Once you get to the little fountain, you'll know that you have arrived. Apart from that, I was very pleased with everything in the hotel. Don't excpect much if you are looking for luxury!

Basic but clean with comfortable beds, good showers and great location. One metro stop to the Coliseum or main train / bus station. Lots of good restaurants and interesting shops nearby including a great vintage clothing shop.

The breakfast was very plain. Large but not so fresh bread rolls, stale pastries & very basic cereal. No freshly brewed coffee or fresh fruit was a big minus. There are however many places nearby to get good coffee & cheap panini.

Positives: Casa Santa Sophia is a delight! Joined to the convent, it is run by the Catechist Sisters of St Anne (there's mass every morning at 06:50, if you fancy joining them). Simply furnished, this is a very basic hotel, and not one for a "romantic weekend" perhaps, but a perfect crash-pad for friends having a break in Rome. I loved it - clean, quiet, spacious, friendly. Hearing the faint sound of the nun's choirs singing waft up the stairwell after breakfast brought a tear to my eye (beautiful!). Great location - in a lovely piazza, with bars and restaurants (and tabac), 5 mins walk to Cavour subway station, and only a ten minute walk to Colloseum. Wall-attached hairdryer in bathroom. I would definitely stay here again.

Negatives: Sound insulation is an issue as the floors are tiled, so other guests clattering around late night/ early morning can cause disturbance. 10am check-out is a little early!

Close to the city centre, 5 min. To Colosseum, 10 min. To Plaza Venezia. 10-15 min. Walking from Termini Station. A few cafes in a couple of meters.

No tv in the room.

Room was very quiet and view to the backyard very "roman". There was no unnecessary things in the room, tv-sets, refrigators etc. Surroundings were lively. Best restarants we found at nearby smal streets. La Vecchia was our favorit. At breakfast we got very good freshly baked bread.

Lack of power sockets. I have 1 socket with a good location (near the table), 1 with a bad location (on the wall near a shower room) and 1 in the shower room.

This place is a real convent, with real nuns! Comfortable, exactly as advertised, excellent location, free breakfast, secure, 24-hour access, wi-fi, affordable... Highly recommended.

Google Maps misled me - it's actually just off via dei Serpentei by the fountain just north of via Cavour. Look for the Cyrillic script over the door on the left.

value for money

this is not a hotel,more a hostel,we knew before that it was a poor one,but room cleaning is unacceptable,they are even not making the beds!!! the hotel is at a noisy square,cannot imagine,how it looks like in summer nights

Great value for money! The hotel has perfect location near all main attractions. We stayed at the room with double bed. It is quite small and the furniture is simple, but it has all necessary equipment and very clean. The bed is comfortable. The hotel is located near the church and a little square with fountain. We had a very nice view from or window. There are a lot of restaurants and bars near the hotel. The staff is very friendly and speaks perfectly English. The breakfast is quite simple, but still is very good.
